    thanks for this video Juliet, I just wanted to add that your comments about how easy it is to buy the fabric in the store are only relevant to those living in London or other cities that have these stores.Living in Devon there are no stores selling Ankara fabric so online is the only option.

    I have a peeve about two things: 1. The stickers on the fabrics and 2. Seeing people who sell fabric online lay the fabric on the floor or dirty carpet/rugs. Thanks for the teachings.

    • @JulietUzor_

    Hi Juliet, I enjoyed the video, thank you and keep them coming. is this on the main road or tucked away? What is the name please? Thank you..
    Also, I found Middlesex Textiles in London quite friendly when I visited and posted my materials to me in 3 days. Empire, I walked round and the chap ignored me and stayed on the phone, despite trying to ask for assistance, left the things and went round the corner to Middlesex for the first time. I am hoping to start sewing soon so bought some cheap ones from their online store to practice on as well. Best to visit and get them posted if you can not carry them more to choose from. 😀

      @@JulietUzor_ I believe sari fabric is sold in 6 yard lengths, so it could be that it is this length to make a particular type of garment.

    • @FunmiLiving
      @FunmiLiving 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It developed from the length needed from a traditional wear, people found they needed 5-6 yards so the orders started dictating the production. Women’s long wrappers and men’s long Agbada and such, Nigerians any way. And showing my age. 😂😂😂
