I got it today and played FF7 and Stellar Blade. Definitely better than I expected in terms of graphics improvement. It’s basically buying a new PS5 with a new GPU and small CPU boost. Do you absolutely need it right now? Nope but if you can afford it and don’t mind trading in your PS5 then you won’t feel bad if you get it. Definitely a powerhouse system.
Only reason I have a PS5 is Stellar Blade. I would probably maybe buy a PS5 Pro JUST for even better Stellar Blade visuals. But since it’s coming out on PC you can easily achieve these visuals + mods with a decent machine probably for cheaper. For now my money is going to ShiftUp’s other game Nikke.

I have both PS5 and PS5 Pro and compare them in 2 same screens I can say that the Pro mode looks a bit worse that the balanced one, he is a bit more blurry but 80 fps is appreciable Pro Max mode doesn't hit 60 fps, or just inside something, it seems to not be that good until PS6 to fix framerate drops I will still playing on balanced mode, the only true benefit to me is that there's no more framerate drop in this mode, perfect 60 fps But honestly the 60 fps was almost perfect on the standard PS5 The biggest upgrades come to Horizon and Lords Of The Fallen for now to me
It's not bad but with the lack of games maybe they just should have waited up until now and release the normal ps5 as a pro. My regular PS5 was mostly collecting dust

Sony themselves haven't published a PS4 game (excluding MLB the show, a sports game) since GOW Ragnarok came out in 2022 and publishers have been releasing current gen only games. It's also not like amount of PS5 only games are going to remain static. You also don't have to buy it now. The "lack of games" critique really does not make sense to me.
Stellar Blade looks insane on the PS5 Pro, would highly recommend the PSSR-based mode. I use the Prototype Planet Diving Suit, and the game feels more lewd now that the pixels are so sharp. Yes, I know it's weird, but that's just how it feels to me.
That is exactly my reason for buying PS5 Pro as well. I wanted to play Stellar Blade in its full potential. I'll be getting it next week and let's see how it goes.
Yeah unless you're a massive enthusiast for this kind of stuff, have a lot of disposable income, or are very sensitive to technological issues with games (such as low framerates or resolution), PS5 Pro really isn't all that worth it. I say wait til it goes on sale a year or so from now or if you can get a cheaper deal later down the road. It's just not worth it at this time.

This game already ran great on the base ps5 in performance mode the sky's the limit it's not going to win but it's my goty by a wide margin loved my time with the platinum trophy it's my game of the gen so far!

You wasted money as you could pay just 495 bucks for new and shiny Ryzen 9800X3D and get an amazing improvement of almost 3% at 1440p to almost 0.5% in 4K over 7800X3D - as a BONUS if you do such upgrade NO ONE will question your sanity or say you wasted your money. PC - it is state of the mind. Just like consoles where people panick for like 50-100 bucks like it made any difference. Games are like $100 but let's all say paying 200-300 bucks for better graphics is stupid. Makes sense! p.s. Got PS5 Pro yesterday, mounted disc drive and ordered Stellar Blade today. Should get it tomorrow hopefully.
That isn't even counting online being paid, how difficult it is to unpatch games, cloud saves being paid and also that no games on PS5 are DRM-free (Steam is not the solution but does a good enough job).
