When Crazyblox removed Chill Mode, he did this really strange thing with Normal Mode that, for lack of a better way of describing it, tried to merge the two gamemodes together. He added the "Beginner Friendly" feature which makes your air drain up to 2x slower until Level 20 (with the effect diminishing as you level up until then), the Intensity Reset, disabling boosting on Easy, capping boosting to 4 times per round, and recently he removed Crazy as well as making the Insane difficulty harder to maintain without actively boosting. I think this was largely unnecessary, as I think having Chill, Normal and Pro could have (in theory) worked very well together. Chill Mode could focus on very new players and prioritise Easy and Normal maps, Normal Mode could focus on intermediate players and prioritise Hard and Insane Maps, while Pro Mode could be for more experienced players and focus on Crazy and Crazy+. In its current state, Normal Mode just feels annoying with the very invasive Intensity Reset while also not being as beginner friendly as Chill Mode was.
One thing a lot of people fail to realise is just how utterly confusing buttons can be. You are pointed towards these glowing objects with a literal bright green line, but they never have any indication on what they do. This means a lot of new players end up dying confused as they don't know where to go after a button press. Some don't even know what buttons are or do, and therefore any button path just seems like a random fork in the road with one being a dead end. You see this a lot more often than you think. Another thing I HATE is this irritating trend where map creators add unnecessary delays to button triggers, making it even MORE confusing for new players. Sure you can argue "its for pacing!!!" But MAP CREATORS ARE DOING IT ON EASY AND NORMAL DIFFICULTY MAPS. A BUTTONS FUNCTION SHOULD ALWAYS BE CRYSTAL CLEAR. DONT MAKE THIS ALREADY CONFUSING SYSTEM FOR NEW PLAYERS MORE CONFUSING THAN IT HAS TO BE.
I agree SO much with point 3, older map have a lot of problems that have gone YEARS without being changed, even when some of those issues are pretty obvious. On a general note, every suggestion you give is pretty valid. Thanks for making a video thats not just pointless rambling about an issue and actually helping on how said issue can be fixed.
HEAVYYY on the tutorial section... so many obbys with new mechanics to new players start up with tutorials so that they can get a grasp on how they work. i remember struggling with walljumps as a new player back in 2018 for the sole fact i could only practice them in dsf, but i would always die to the lava, which kinda turned me away from the game until i tried it again in 2020
Theres so many new mechanics too like the cannons/zipline bursts, teleportation objects, bounce pads, and other stuff that have been added as mechanics from community map creators that 100% need to be mentioned otherwise new players will just be more annoyed
@ryb_idk the only map that has always had wjs since release is dsf so yeah😭 it was hard for me to get the hang of it since the lava came really quick (by the standards of that era) and couldnt practice in any other maps. i feel like sliding wasnt that hard to get used to but ofc new players could use the help of a tutorial im ngl
I believe part of the problem for new players like you stated is the game is quite complex in 2024 with all these new features and it feels quite overwhelming for new players who are just thrown into a normal server that might be on insane difficulty. **Some basic things I believe would be great if they were implemented would be:** - A practice gamemode - A solo gamemode - A tutorial - And a new standard for new maps being added into the game For the practice gamemode, similarly to fe2cm I think there should be a gamemode where you are able to select and practice a single map in the game as many times as you want. You wouldn't gain experience / rewards from doing this however it would be a better way to practice in-game maps as for new players beating a map like active volcanic mines without it in fe2cm is extremely difficult and take a really long period of time. And to be honest, anyone who thinks in-game maps shouldnt be practicable no offence but i just think thats a really stupid idea. The whole point of FE2 is to improve your skills and get better by playing, however no one enjoys having to wait 10 minutes to play the crazy they are practicing just to die instantly due to say a mouse slip or small error. I also believe the game should have a solo gamemode, (no not a private server) a solo gamemode where you can make a solo server where no one else can join you where you can just play the game. This would benefit new players as they can play maps of their choice whilst still getting rewards as currently, if a new player joins a normal server that are constantly boosting and playing on insane difficulty, their first impression of the game, well it would suck. I definitely think a tutorial would be useful for the game as well as fe2 is a unique parkour game with different physics to normal parkour games on roblox. Having a tutorial and showing how players can improve / practice would be great for the game as well as by introducing new features. I also really agree with the point of rebalancing and that also brings me on to my last point is having a standard for new maps and current maps within the game. As someone who has played FE2 for a decent amount (im like level 60 and ive just beaten my first crazy+ for reference, I started playing in 2018 and like personally as somewhat casual player I hated new maps were added just because of the fact that I was practicing older maps at the time, and servers that I was in would always vote for the new maps, in which i would instantly die on due to a lack of practicing tools. I also believe for new maps there should be a standard for sightreadability as one of the problems ive had with A LOT of FE2 maps is their sightreadabilty. In order for the game to be fun I believe every map, regardless of difficulty should be easy to sightread and on my first couple of tries at each part, I should be able to know exactly where im going. For a while I despised learning the new maps and still today I believe some of them are over detailed and very confusing. I believe map creators should focus more on gameplay and sightreadability first before working on quality and decoration. By creating a program (im not sure how the current one works) but a proper system where sightreadability is tested by multiple people before being added would solve a TON of my personal issues with how the new maps are received now. anyways a lot of yap thats just my thoughts, i dont usually comment this much or comment at all so im not really bothered to edit my grammar
someone's finally talking about this?? holy shit?? crazy maps being in normal servers was one of the biggest issues i had with the game for a long time, because there were suddenly a lot more requirements in order to get into pro servers, and all the sweaty tryhards would group up in the normal lobbies *(where all the first time players were),* and constantly boost the difficulty to the max. this made it impossible for newer players to learn and get good at the game, which wasn't a problem before crazy maps were added to normal servers. also yeah, the game really needs a tutorial.
i agree with most stuff, especially the tutorial part. as a map maker tho, some skips can be difficult to patch because it could create unecessary barriers for people to walk on (i had that issue quite a few times lol). anyways great video!!
There is no way a normal player can transition from insane to crazy+. There's not much in between for regular crazy, because most pro servers boost to c+ or just choose the hardest crazy maps. I'm glad I started FE2 in April. Being a new player must suck now.
Removing Chill and Chaos was one of the most bullshit things Crazyblox has ever done Chill was for beginners and Chaos was fun Crazyblox probably wonders why people are mad at him and why people hate on V60 so much
Why doesn't crazyblox add a poll in-game asking the players if they want a feature in the game or not? Because it's his game, and he will do as he wishes(he literally means this) and, at the end of the day, questioning why his game won't get more popular. Also, there is no tutorial or practice mode for new players, lol
This is honestly the reason why I can’t get back in the game anymore, the maps being added are just too difficult, and require more practice. Practice requires time, which I don’t have as much of anymore.
My main problem is any time I try to make a return to the game, 90% of my time is spent spectating because I instantly lose, or it's purely extremely easy boring maps. (Ik it's a skill issue.)
I agree! I play this game for 7 years now, completed many high-crazy maps and a bunch of Crazy+ but man I feel I might never beat Infiltration and it's super hard tower, and don't even get me started about the last section 😕
Idea i had for the tutorial: Instead of a full-blown tutorial map, maybe just a few GUIs showing the player how to use ziplines, walljumps, etc. and then there's some sort of animation to show the feature or something Probably will save more time while still being informative
the thing is, the game doesn't have something to help beginner players. They just put you in a box and expect you to become a master and thats unfortunately what I've been through. I didn't suffer so much about parkours of the maps since I had some obby experience. But not everyone doesn't. Not only this but maps can be really confusing and make you die with barely giving you any lesson about what to do and what not to do.
'sorry guys I can't update permanent maps more than once due to the lock in policy' - crazyblox 2023 proceeds to update to patch shortcuts 4 times for Rustic Jungle. Yes I agree lock in policy is bullshit, its not really a policy if certain maps can get around it.
I completely agree with your statements about crazy+ maps not being in pro servers. I think that pro servers should only have insane and crazy maps. And expert servers should have only crazy and crazy+ maps. I think the requirements for expert servers should be all crazy maps beaten, (the official ones not highlights or community maps) level 50, and you’ve played for 60+ days. Edit: for context the only crazy map I have beaten is poisonous chasm because I haven’t been able to practice any of the other maps because of the psychos constantly boosting so the only maps are crazy+. I hate crazy+ maps.
(Long comment warning) I think one of, if not the biggest issue is that the skill curve of the game is extremely unfriendly, and as a result it’s very difficult to get to an intermediate level. I think the game can pull in new players, but a lot of them quit soon after really getting into the game. After a new player works their way up to beating higher end insane maps (which is doable in a couple of weeks) the levels require a lot more learning to beat. Since they hardly get to practice maps they want to beat because of the round system, it becomes near-impossible to progress in skill leading to players quitting. Before, players had tools like fe2 map test to practice in-game maps and devtools in fe2cm to segment maps and practice individual parts. Now that fe2cm made the devtools creators-only and fe2 map test has long shut down, there is NO method of practicing in-game maps individually (no, vip servers DO NOT count). The only way to get to high-crazy-level nowadays is to brute force a lot of fanmade maps so you can sightread enough to learn crazies in the few attempts you are given in-game. And once you get to crazy+ level, that becomes unrealistic. Now I want to compare this to a game with a pretty similar community that doesn’t have this issue, Geometry Dash. Geometry Dash is similar to FE2 in how it’s based on trial and error to beat levels in a set timeframe. In geometry dash, there is a built-in practice mode that lets players practice maps by placing checkpoints as much as they please to learn different segments. The game also allows you to copy levels and place start-positions in the level editor, so you don’t have to work your way through the level every time you practice a single part. If you take a look at the community of the game, you can see how this pays off. Many people (majority of the people who talk in online communities in-fact) can play the game at an intermediate to advanced levels. A lot of these people have also been playing the game for under a year. A lot of new players stick around for years as well. Even when the game went 6 years without ANY updates, the community stayed alive and the game even got a spike in players a few years back, a lot of which can be attributed to the growing top playing scene. What if there was no way to practice levels in Geometry Dash? Almost nobody would even beat deadlocked, the hardest built-in level, and there are in-game fe2 maps that easily go higher than deadlocked in difficulty, and fe2cm maps that go up to near-bloodbath (considered the hardest GD level back in 2015) difficulty. Looking at geometry dash, I think the solution to this problem is to add a practice mode to the FE2. This would allow you to play any in-game map solo, and allow you to place checkpoints or teleport to different areas to practice. This allows newer players to practice maps they struggle with, making the game much easier to get into, and making players stay for longer, growing the game significantly.
Years ago, I used to think adding a bunch of new maps would make the game better and more fun, but it had the opposite effect. It RUINED the game. There are now so many maps that you can’t even keep up with the game anymore. Some are basically impossible for average players and especially newbies. New players almost don’t stand a chance now. It’s confusing. Everyone votes for the same maps over and over again leaving out the og ones that are actually possible. That’s why I like the idea of bringing back chill mode. I’ve been playing for 6-7 years pretty much constantly. I quit regular Fe2 a month ago (not cm yet but probably soon) because I could no longer keep up with the maps and updates. I only stayed this long cause I wanted to have all the map badges. After realizing how long it took me to beat abandoned junkyard, I decided it's not worth it. It takes so long bc if you're trying to beat a specific map, you have to wait like 15 minutes to play it again just to die bc they don't press group buttons (or you waste it on a stupid fail). That's why I like the expert game mode idea.
0:40 NIKO ONESHOT OMGGG NO WAYY.. :333 (great vid btw) but I relate to this heavy because I want to play Crazy+ maps but my servers are always so terrible I never manage to play them.. :(
I've always recommended a tutorial where it would show off all mechanics and then give a map for you to try on your own, yet still isn't a thing, this game really is based off if you played the original before or if you are going to challenge yourself to stick around and learn FE2 without playing the first game Another thing that would be cool is indication on where to go, like a glowing arrow pointing where to go next or a glowing path where it leads you to the next button, or even ghost player, as in, a player's replay of how they beat it or following that ghost replay And yea, Chill servers being removed killed any hope for a new player to learn FE2 (Not that it helped majorly but it did help players know what to do that get familiar with 1-3 star maps) I feel like we aren't getting anything beginner friendly or a tutorial soon, with Crazyblox gone from the discord server, chances of him listening to the community is much lower to almost zero, and we aren't going to advance forward with new ideas if there's barely a way to give feedback or suggestions to Crazyblox now.
I started out with flood escape classic and mega fun obby to get semi decent at obbies at the age of 4. Eventually flood escape 2 came out and I played quite a bit since I was good enough to beat the maps but still needed practice with the insane maps. Eventually I would get into fan games and stopped playing as much as I
I agree with all your points. I've played FE2 since its release but there are some choices that are just questionable. Some changes could really imrpove the game if the goal is bring more beginners into the game. Some sort of solo game mode or tutorial would let players learn the game at their own pace and have them start at easy levels instead of whatever difficulty the server they join is on. Fixing the locked in policy would maintain a level of consistency between map difficulties and just improve the appeal of the game overall. More customizeable settings that can change things like forced map events.
Great video btw, as much as i love fe2 this game have some major issues like intensity reset and the newer maps are difficult for me to sightread especially the physics.
I came back to fe2 recently and honestly it’s impossible to enjoy the new insane maps as I never get them with public lobbies and it’s basically impossible to qualify to get into pro lobbies as it’s impossible to get insane rounds in the first place compared to before where you could spam insane un causual lobbies but nowadays the only way to experience insane maps is by doing it in retro or just get lucky.
to be fair another huge problem are the events. It makes the gameplay so much harder especially for modern easy and medium maps that are WAY longer and bigger and potentially more confusing. There have been some balance changes for the events but in my opinikon they should get removed (except for rescue escapee) atleast for difficulties like easy - hard
there was gonna be a difficulty added in V57 called Beginner. its intensity was 0 and was chill mode and fe2cm exclusive. this would be for maps very easy and for players new to the game. sadly, the difficulty was scrapped in favour of star ratings as they clearly showed a difference of difficulty between maps (e.g submerging coastland and avm). however, i dont exactly know if it is still there but beginner remains in the code of community maps if you lag a lot but is only visible for a couple of frames. i think the difficulty wouldve been a great addition to the game, however since crazyblox said that crazy+ was the final difficulty, it remains as a scrapped feature
You gotta consider how Hard is it for beginners to sightread maps too, think this through Most of the community has beaten tons of maps from easy to crazy, and this made them better at sightreading Those skilled people have memorised how the maps used a similar layout and they now can expect where to go, what to do etc. And after all these years of honing our sightreading skills, we Still get fairly confused on a lot of highlighted maps, some being easy to normal Now if we cant even sightread these maps, how can you expect an inexperienced ipad kid, who hasnt been tought the mechanics that allow them to be faster, to sightread these maps? Im not even mentioning the overdetail across maps, some terrain Design being cancollide false sometimes, button indicators misleading etc So ye the only sightreadable maps are castle tides and lost woods atm
I sucked at obbys till i detected fe2 (i played multiple obby games before that but i was too stupid to become good there), at the beginning i died at easies, but now, 68 days later I actually am good at obbys
Im genuinely starting to believe that crazyblox doesnt like listening to his community even though they are so toxic. He needs to understand the changes he has made completely altered the game for both older and newer players. New players will be overwhelmed by all the mechanics and older players will be bored because of their being only 4 actual gamemodes to choose from.
I really dont like FE2. For one, the intensity reset. I want to be able to do Insanes and Crazies, but the pro servers just boost it 9999 times and pick the hardest maps, and normal ones are on Lava Tower.
When i started the game, i was mad that there wasn't a beginner mode, definitely needs another mode considering ive played for 2 weeks and ive beat 2 insine rated levels and still die on easy rated ones.
The reason that I don't play the game anymore is because crazyblox changed the pro servers requirements and removed crazys from normal servers. Since I come from jtoh, everything is just too easy so I think they should make pro servers a difficulty requirement e.g. beat all insanes. That way it wouldn't be too challenging for people who are new to obbys, but new players who are already good can still have fun.
Crazyblox needs to see this video. This game has been stuck at pre 900 players for a long time and he needs to do something for new players to engage more. I totally agree with most of these things in the video but (in my opinion) maybe Crazyblox should make pro servers to be level 30 + again (and remove the beat all insanes).
Blaze: remove the fallen zipline shortcut!!! also Blaze: *does the shortcut* Also good video I really think Crazyblox SHOULD add back chill servers and maybe chaos servers? IDK but why Retro mode for the savings??!? LIKE WHY their physics suck anyways
I quit fe2 after the massive community map update. All of the maps in pro servers were new crazy+ maps I had never seen before, so I just ended up waiting half the time. Normal servers also were basically ruined by that point. I just wanted to play classic fe2 maps that I knew and not cm made ones that I had no idea about.
i ve been in this game for the past 6-7 years no tutorials and we still managed. Now i know this is heavy cope but new players just have no patience to learn the game
i joined my friend in fe2 and i had no idea what was going on or where i was supposed to go, i remember not dying but not surviving so i think i just quit in round
Yes ur right, bc that was why they made intense reset, getting newer players so play more ez maps without players boosting to crazy, BUT BUT they didn’t need to destroy half of the game, leme explain, they could of keep chill-mode and normal-mode make chill-mode the mode u have intensity reset on! And keep normal-mode as it was. It was perfect I could go in to normal mode and get like insane or low crazy’s all the time as NORMALLY, now last thing PRO SERVSERS bc we now have 2 servers we could make pro servers hard to get in to AGAIN AND ACTUALLY MAKE THEM PRO, look we have beginner server- chill-mode middle server-normal and harder servers is pro servers and why I said make pro hard again means it should be level 50 again, PRO servers needs grinding! That’s what I did AFTER JUST A WEEK TO REALISE THAT I COULD Have JUST BEATED ALL THE INSANES TO GET IN, thx for me this is my perfect fe2!❤
Item contributor here, I am friend with Vio and I have sent this to him but he is unable to message Crazyblox about this as he's currently not in the server after backlash of new moderation policy.
If ya'll would be up to we could make a guide and send it to Crazyblox and see what happens? Or we could just publish it as an fe2cm map and leave it there. I would be up for it. But I know damn well I can't do it on my own.
Every single point here is valid, but crazyblox already said multiple times that he DOESNT want to add tutorial at all for whatever reason for years, so it will take a lot of time and effort to convince him to do so. And about older maps, this could have been easily fixed with tweaks/updates to older maps if crazyblox didnt implement no change rules because of toxic woods situation, i know hes trying his best but there SO much questionable decisions he makes that could be prevented if he looked at other games in and outside roblox
they should add back chill mode(also chaos) and i think the old server intensity(1-5.99) worked fine tbh but i hate intensity reset also, some perm highlights are a bit too hard for their difficulty. i think with this many maps in the game, new players cant focus on one map at a time to get better (without private servers) this is also the reason i think fe2 feels kinda bad now and also why i dont play it anymore even though i have no problem with the harder maps(ive been playing fe2 since 2022)
For me fe2 has been with me forever. Even if I don't get to be at the monthly c+ I always enjoy my time in fe2. Even when I start to get bored I can always work on my own map for fe2cm. I wish these new players can experience what I do everyday but the ga me is just to harsh towards thrm. I think if Crazublox just adds a tutorial to the game he will start attracting consistent player's. He is slowly working his way there with the norm server ner fs but it's just ruining other players experience or grind to get to pro server s. I am seeing too many people on the f e2 discord ask for help to beat some insane maps and I feel b ad.
I personally agree on this, FE2 and other parkour games are'nt begginer friendly, especially with the chill mode removed. I think a tutorial + chill servers is enough, but not to lock c+ and crazy to pro and expert servers. Thats just unnecesary for me.
why *shouldn't* c and c+ maps be locked out of normal servers? if you want a greater challenge then you go to pro servers, if not, you stay in normal servers.
@nonexistantt I have more of a problem of there isn't a middle ground between crazy and crazy+. My suggestion would be to add that middle ground in the form of intermediate server being for level 20+ and going from normal to crazy, while we lock pro servers to either level 30+ or level 40+ with crazy+
Agree too much with this, as soon as chill mode was removed I thought to myself, how can this game be playable to new players? Also in the description, it's Underworld Grove, not Underworld Castle 🤓☝️
The problem with chaos mode is that there's gonna be a bypasser, exploiter and questionable player sure gifting is nice but i would rather the chaos to be gone trust me it's really that bad
Even though I’m a jtoh player who has managed to beat two terrifying towers, I still find myself struggling badly with this game. Seriously FE2 fell off so bad because it is just impossible to sightread. And if someone who has beat a tower with really wacky gameplay can’t sightread mostly long jumps, trusses, and other FE2 mechanics, then there’s a really bad problem. If someone who has done something so hard only about a thousand people can do it, what makes you think a beginner with no skill can!? Also, this game somehow got really stale even with the large amount of maps and content in game, I blame poor balancing and the unsightreadability of maps.
@@SuperSomieStuff I really think it would, however there’s still the issue of retention. When you get good you find yourself bored because it’s too easy. New maps also end up feeling like a chore since all you do is just learn a new map which I’ve not found anyone who enjoys this process.
Ring 0 will eventually come to teach beginners I’m sure… But yea jtoh is an absolute nightmare for a beginner. I’m one of the few beginners who managed to push through but it is awful to make the push, it’s just endless suffering and frustration until you make it through.
I agree with alot of this video. Mainly Tutorial and Locked in being stupid as fuck. but I cannot see where people are coming from with bringing back chill and chaos. With all the "beginner friendly" mechanics in normal servers, plus normal servers not having swimming in lava and it being the main place you join.. its much easier for players to play maps, even if sightreadablity is an issue, and to experience the mechaincs of the game without having to worry about crazy and crazy+ i think normal servers are fine and the game itself is fine without chill mode and chaos mode was useless once chaotic buttons was added, and i usually only saw like one to two servers active at a time. Chaos was a dead mode that didnt do much for the game. I have a problem with making an expert server though. I dont think thats needed as most players just play pro mode cause of either its name or cause they want to play crazy - crazy+ maps. Boosting to c+ isnt a problem if crazy wasnt in pro servers So ive suggested for a while now that instead of making a c+ exclusive area, just keep crazy+ pro servers exclusive and then move crazy into an intermediate server for like level 20+ and then raise pro server cap to level 30+ (its original requirement from 2018) or level 40+ as we saw during anniversary of 2023 that level 50+ pro servers hurt the game and we saw on RJ's release that level 0 cap on pro was very bad. How i think intermediate servers could work, you have the intensities 2 - 5 (with a cap of 4 boosts like normal servers) and intensity reset back to 2 after like 20 - 25 maps (higher than normal servers because of crazy maps). An intermediate gamemode would also provide a better way to play normal maps, as most normal servers ive seen have always boost after normal to get to atleast hard or insane if they are more experienced, so having a place where 1. It resets to normal intensity and 2. Make it to where you cant boost until 3 in intermediate.. i think fe2 not having a tutorial is both helping and harming the game, helping in the sense of that we are all having this discussion about fe2 not being beginner friendly, which fe2 is actually pretty beginner friendy, its more fe2 doesnt have any easy maps to teach players how the mechanics work, the easiest map, Closing Hours just throws you in expecting you to know everything, as currently fe2 is set as a game with trial and error, thats how its been set up for years, you learn from each death.. but its hard learn from each death if you dont know what to do, so i think instead of a full on tutorial, crazy instead should add like tips onto the loading screen and on the map streak screen to help newer players figure out the game and realize that pressing buttons do things, how trusses work and etc... also ofc they arent gonna be able to read these fast enough sometimes so another good thing would be like a how to play or a very condensed tutorial that can teach the basic stuff and then as you learn to play the game, youll figure out about airdiving and corner cutting (like these two things are the only things i wouldnt include in a tutorial) also i would remove airdiving from normal servers as its a pretty hard mechanic to learn and would be reserved for intermediate and pro servers, as airdiving helps on crazy maps and is pretty much required on alot of crazy+ maps to match or go faster than the pacing of crazy+. Anyways, sorry for the huge rant, good video and maybe I'll make a video on all the things i think fe2 needs for it be a better game than what it was in 2023 and 2018 - 2019.
on a serious note i do agree with some of these suggestions, especially the older maps one theres also a fog event problem, despite it being nerfed in an update it is still pretty bad for newer players a suggestioon is to basically just remove fog in normal servers, keep it in pro servers, but not have the fog events in highlights/community maps and c+ maps thats just me though
I did plan on adding events to the video but in all fairness, events are either to add a fun or difficult challenge to the game depending on which event it is. But in my opinion if there was going to be any event making it difficult for new players it's chaotic buttons.
heavy on the tutorial 😭😭 you’re literally thrown into the game with no knowledge of its mechanics and you’re forced to learn it all on your own if you want to beat harder difficulties
I was playing fe2 doing the innovation awards, then saw in chat people saying "why is this game so hard" when the difficulty is literally stuck below hard lol
You make a really good point so you deserve a pin 🗣️🗣️
Actually incredible true, never thought of it like that, that should fr be the gamemodes
why did he even remove Chill and Chaos?
The thing is I don’t think new players even acknowledge that chill mode exist when they first play the game
@@crewposteraluset5457 correct, they can't even find it. it's hidden away in a really weird menu format that you'd never find the first time you play.
Literally a lot of CM maps.
I will be reading all at
solution: better indication on easier maps
Realest thing I've ever seen. Add back chill servers for new players.
5:31 The transition from fallen to summit zipline
oh my god its so clean
Didn’t even notice it at first
HEAVYYY on the tutorial section... so many obbys with new mechanics to new players start up with tutorials so that they can get a grasp on how they work. i remember struggling with walljumps as a new player back in 2018 for the sole fact i could only practice them in dsf, but i would always die to the lava, which kinda turned me away from the game until i tried it again in 2020
Theres so many new mechanics too like the cannons/zipline bursts, teleportation objects, bounce pads, and other stuff that have been added as mechanics from community map creators that 100% need to be mentioned otherwise new players will just be more annoyed
@@Pixolotl_26 i agree! rotating wjs as well
I believe part of the problem for new players like you stated is the game is quite complex in 2024 with all these new features and it feels quite overwhelming for new players who are just thrown into a normal server that might be on insane difficulty.
**Some basic things I believe would be great if they were implemented would be:**
- A practice gamemode
- A solo gamemode
- A tutorial
- And a new standard for new maps being added into the game
For the practice gamemode, similarly to fe2cm I think there should be a gamemode where you are able to select and practice a single map in the game as many times as you want.
“I swear this generation’s doomed”
My guy your right about that one
Crazy gotta bring back these 2 gamemodes
- Chill mode
- Chaos mode
What happend to chaos mode?!

BRO THEY REMOVED TWO REALLY GOOD GAMEMODES
Now people can’t have as much fun and beginners won’t get a chance.
i agree with most stuff, especially the tutorial part.
as a map maker tho, some skips can be difficult to patch because it could create unecessary barriers for people to walk on (i had that issue quite a few times lol).
anyways great video!!
There is no way a normal player can transition from insane to crazy+. There's not much in between for regular crazy, because most pro servers boost to c+ or just choose the hardest crazy maps.
I'm glad I started FE2 in April. Being a new player must suck now.
Removing Chill and Chaos was one of the most bullshit things Crazyblox has ever done
Chill was for beginners
and Chaos was fun
Crazyblox probably wonders why people are mad at him and why people hate on V60 so much
Why doesn't crazyblox add a poll in-game asking the players if they want a feature in the game or not? Because it's his game, and he will do as he wishes(he literally means this) and, at the end of the day, questioning why his game won't get more popular. Also, there is no tutorial or practice mode for new players, lol
This is honestly the reason why I can’t get back in the game anymore, the maps being added are just too difficult, and require more practice. Practice requires time, which I don’t have as much of anymore.
literally this
My main problem is any time I try to make a return to the game, 90% of my time is spent spectating because I instantly lose, or it's purely extremely easy boring maps. (Ik it's a skill issue.)
Adding a practice mode would completely fix this but people gatekeep this for no reason

I play this game for 7 years now, completed many high-crazy maps and a bunch of Crazy+ but man I feel I might never beat Infiltration and it's super hard tower, and don't even get me started about the last section 😕
crazyblox definetly needs to see this
chaos mode was my favorite!!!
Idea i had for the tutorial:
Instead of a full-blown tutorial map, maybe just a few GUIs showing the player how to use ziplines, walljumps, etc. and then there's some sort of animation to show the feature or something
Probably will save more time while still being informative
the thing is, the game doesn't have something to help beginner players.
I would actually love to add Expert servers that only has Crazy+. I can now finally practice each crazy+ map
Expert mode would be SOO good. Normal is too easy but in pro servers people keep boosting and I keep dying :((
1:41 this is called “rapid climb”
(Long comment warning)
I think one of, if not the biggest issue is that the skill curve of the game is extremely unfriendly, and as a result it’s very difficult to get to an intermediate level.
Imagine playing for the 1st time and the 1st map you play was active volcanic mines. 💀
Imagine beating it tho 💀
@@AlexWaterElement you would need to beat like 4 Jtoh SC's to sightread wtf that speedrun is all about. 💀
I've always recommended a tutorial where it would show off all mechanics and then give a map for you to try on your own, yet still isn't a thing, this game really is based off if you played the original before or if you are going to challenge yourself to stick around and learn FE2 without playing the first game
Another thing that would be cool is indication on where to go, like a glowing arrow pointing where to go next or a glowing path where it leads you to the next button, or even ghost player, as in, a player's replay of how they beat it or following that ghost replay
And yea, Chill servers being removed killed any hope for a new player to learn FE2 (Not that it helped majorly but it did help players know what to do that get familiar with 1-3 star maps)
I feel like we aren't getting anything beginner friendly or a tutorial soon, with Crazyblox gone from the discord server, chances of him listening to the community is much lower to almost zero, and we aren't going to advance forward with new ideas if there's barely a way to give feedback or suggestions to Crazyblox now.
4:27 add this with Fog and new players can genuinely be assassinated by the lava.
Why are newer maps so overdetailed
Exactly
Because people have unrealistic standards and prioritize visuals over gameplay
I don't think thats bad if the map is well optimized and the gp is good. I still think gp should be prioritized but deco is also important.
Ngl they should be well detailed but not to the point that it’s unsightreadable
like that one map blueberry hideout
it's genuinely hard to look at
I started out with flood escape classic and mega fun obby to get semi decent at obbies at the age of 4.
I came back to fe2 recently and honestly it’s impossible to enjoy the new insane maps as I never get them with public lobbies and it’s basically impossible to qualify to get into pro lobbies as it’s impossible to get insane rounds in the first place compared to before where you could spam insane un causual lobbies but nowadays the only way to experience insane maps is by doing it in retro or just get lucky.
sometimes i struggle on some maps are really dark
Splitting up the playerbase is no Bueno that's why chill mode was removed.
Bro I have a friend who is friends with crazyblox, I might show him this video and make him talk to crazyblox about adding what you said in the video.
That would be w
to be fair another huge problem are the events. It makes the gameplay so much harder especially for modern easy and medium maps that are WAY longer and bigger and potentially more confusing. There have been some balance changes for the events but in my opinikon they should get removed (except for rescue escapee) atleast for difficulties like easy - hard
even as a pro (or decent) player I wld love to see a "how to get better for beginners" lol
there was gonna be a difficulty added in V57 called Beginner. its intensity was 0 and was chill mode and fe2cm exclusive. this would be for maps very easy and for players new to the game. sadly, the difficulty was scrapped in favour of star ratings as they clearly showed a difference of difficulty between maps (e.g submerging coastland and avm).
however, i dont exactly know if it is still there but beginner remains in the code of community maps if you lag a lot but is only visible for a couple of frames.
i think the difficulty wouldve been a great addition to the game, however since crazyblox said that crazy+ was the final difficulty, it remains as a scrapped feature
@@Astralpaces i have seen beginner and the glitch before

as someone who doesn't play flood escape 2, good video 👍
i died on the easy highlight 4 times in a row cuz i kept getting fog event
pacing is too fast in that map in all fairness
You gotta consider how Hard is it for beginners to sightread maps too, think this through
Most of the community has beaten tons of maps from easy to crazy, and this made them better at sightreading
Those skilled people have memorised how the maps used a similar layout and they now can expect where to go, what to do etc.
And after all these years of honing our sightreading skills, we Still get fairly confused on a lot of highlighted maps, some being easy to normal
Now if we cant even sightread these maps, how can you expect an inexperienced ipad kid, who hasnt been tought the mechanics that allow them to be faster, to sightread these maps?
Im not even mentioning the overdetail across maps, some terrain Design being cancollide false sometimes, button indicators misleading etc
So ye the only sightreadable maps are castle tides and lost woods atm
FE2 Should Add VC-Only Servers (Voice Chat)
VC-Only Pro Servers and VC-Only Expert Servers

Also good video I really think Crazyblox SHOULD add back chill servers and maybe chaos servers? IDK but why Retro mode for the savings??!? LIKE WHY their physics suck anyways
It was for the video trust
Also ty and I agree with ur statement Retro Mode just sucks like play FE2 Classic instead lol

Jtoh has a tutorial and only 2% of people actually finished it, i feel like tutorials for obby games need to be required or close to required
Should have never removed chill servers ngl.
play lethal company
Omw to beat tier 14’s and still have no clue how fe2 works at all
they should add back chill mode(also chaos) and i think the old server intensity(1-5.99) worked fine tbh but i hate intensity reset
also, some perm highlights are a bit too hard for their difficulty. i think with this many maps in the game, new players cant focus on one map at a time to get better (without private servers)
this is also the reason i think fe2 feels kinda bad now and also why i dont play it anymore even though i have no problem with the harder maps(ive been playing fe2 since 2022)
1:52 sugar crash
I genuinely think FE2 adding a practice mode would fix the issue of new players dropping the game and revive it
@@SuperSomieStuff I really think it would, however there’s still the issue of retention. When you get good you find yourself bored because it’s too easy. New maps also end up feeling like a chore since all you do is just learn a new map which I’ve not found anyone who enjoys this process.
It's been a few year and there's still no tutorial and no practice mode lol
Of course it isn’t beginner friendly cause people just want more crazy + maps.

With all the "beginner friendly" mechanics in normal servers, plus normal servers not having swimming in lava and it being the main place you join.. its much easier for players to play maps, even if sightreadablity is an issue, and to experience the mechaincs of the game without having to worry about crazy and crazy+
i think normal servers are fine and the game itself is fine without chill mode and chaos mode was useless once chaotic buttons was added, and i usually only saw like one to two servers active at a time.
Chaos was a dead mode that didnt do much for the game.
I have a problem with making an expert server though. I dont think thats needed as most players just play pro mode cause of either its name or cause they want to play crazy - crazy+ maps.
Boosting to c+ isnt a problem if crazy wasnt in pro servers
So ive suggested for a while now that instead of making a c+ exclusive area, just keep crazy+ pro servers exclusive and then move crazy into an intermediate server for like level 20+ and then raise pro server cap to level 30+ (its original requirement from 2018) or level 40+ as we saw during anniversary of 2023 that level 50+ pro servers hurt the game and we saw on RJ's release that level 0 cap on pro was very bad.
Anyways, sorry for the huge rant, good video and maybe I'll make a video on all the things i think fe2 needs for it be a better game than what it was in 2023 and 2018 - 2019.
cold take
Hiiii :D
i havent watched but i agree !!
on a serious note i do agree with some of these suggestions, especially the older maps one
theres also a fog event problem, despite it being nerfed in an update it is still pretty bad for newer players
a suggestioon is to basically just remove fog in normal servers, keep it in pro servers, but not have the fog events in highlights/community maps and c+ maps
thats just me though
I did plan on adding events to the video but in all fairness, events are either to add a fun or difficult challenge to the game depending on which event it is. But in my opinion if there was going to be any event making it difficult for new players it's chaotic buttons.
