this is so pretty!!!
I’ve recently started getting into small sculpture and 3D crafting, and this has inspired e to continue more! Acrylic-Gouache is perfectly for painting on stuff like this, it has the perfect consistency and lays down really nice.
So wonderful!❤
This is absolutely amazing! WOW! I can't wait to see you do more of these. So beautiful.
this is incredible !!!!! i love love love the way you use patterns and shapes in your work so much its so inspiring!!! if you ever need to fill little grooves again, try cutting one corner out of a plastic bag, then filling the bag with the putty stuff and using the bag as a nozzle!
Ficou muito lindo.
💚💚💚💚

This is the best piece of art I have seen around in the art youtube in the last couple of years!

It looks so lovely 😍
Wow, Sophie! It looks exactly how I would imagine one of your illustrations to look if it jumped out of the page!
Polyfilla, wood glue and sawdust/even sand or dental plaster, if you know anyone who does woodwork, wood filler. I’m guessing maybe your other leaf platters may have detail too and you may encounter this issue again.
Love your sculpture. Jeannie Baker has more than a dozen books and her current exhibition is still touring. I've seen a few of her exhibitions and her work is incredibly detailed. Highly recommended if you get the chance.
the moment i saw it on your ig story i was waiting to watch the whole process and omg, your art skills translated so well from paper to sculpture❤
OMG Sophieeee, this whoooooole video resonates so much with where I'm at in my artistic journey at the moment. I actually made two little air dry clay figures this evening, before watching this video, and I also found myself thinking how pure it felt! Like pure PEACH VIBES! Nothing else I've ever done feels as natural and "me" as working with clay/sculpture. Even paper mache feels very similar! I absolutely LOVED eating this video up for dessert : ) hehe LOVE YA XOXO
This came out SO gorgeous, I'm so in love with it Sophie. It's adorable and such a novel idea! I love that you're always challenging yourself with new concepts and twists on how you can illustrate something. This is so inspiring; makes me want to get back into making figurines!
I'm also extremely impressed that you were able to transfer the long stems from the oven to the leaf with no breaks! XD
As for filling in grooves, I wonder would just simple pva glue work? Easy to paint over, and I imagine it's fluid enough to get into any grooves. I'm not sure though. Maybe it would crack, but then under all the gesso and paint I'm sure it'd be okay. Otherwise possibly stuffing the grooves with a cheap air-dry clay? I guess it didn't matter anyway with all the clay you put on it. XD
The air dry clay could be a. great idea! Next time!! Yesss!! ❤❤ Thank you my dear friend xoxoox
It's lovely Sophie! I wonder if modelling paste would have worked better than gesso 🤔
