Gstove has renamed as RS Stove. They have been very busy behind the scenes with a redesign, testing and preparation for launch in winter 2024. You can find their new website here. www.rsstove.com/
I've used it as the main heat source in my sailboat for 2 years, and it throws out a load of heat and sounds like a jetengine if you down turn down the air inlet. It's very trustworthy and sturdy. Of course it gives heat fast and losses it fast. I'm considering to build some mass around it. But for sure it is a good stove.
@@d.a.t.4699 some stainless will corrode quickly in anaerobic environment, so might help to leave an inch of airspace... also effective aircrete "mass" is relative, of course but a 2-3in thick removable aircrete dome over the g-stove could add a couple hours, at best, of residual warmth, after the fire goes out, which may or may not make all that much difference, on those looong winter mights... but while the fire is going such an accessory might just bake a pie!
Excellent review. Mine should be arriving in Dec. from Luxe Hiking Gear in the USA. All the reviews I've seen are positive. Gstove has a good TH-cam channel worth checking out. Thanks for this.
Good review. I use this stove every day inside my small travel trailer as my primary source of heat at my off grid homestead. It works fantastically. One thing you have to be very diligent with is CLEANING THE FLUE. This stove is not really designed to be used every single day like your average household wood stove is, so if you do use it every day, you need to CLEAN YOUR FLUE OFTEN because the 3 inch pipe clogs up really quickly with heavy use. In the cold winter months I clean my pipes out every few days. You'll know when its time to clean: you won't be able to get good airflow in the firebox and smoke will start puffing out the front door. Right angle flue joints are your worst enemy when it comes to keeping a clean flue (unfortunately I'm forced to use 2 of them in my setup). They are the pieces that will clog the fastest. 45 degree angle joints are better if you can manage them. The best possible option is to use a completely straight up-and-down flue pipe. If my setup didn't have any joints/angles, I could probably get away with cleaning the flue once a month as opposed to once a week.
Thanks Diop Side, that's great information. What did you use to clean the flue with, anything particular? By the way, feel free to sub and help us grow!

Thank you for the effort you put forth to bring us this excellent review. I find that this is one of three stoves that I would actually consider buying (I already own the magnificent Four Dog Stove Company titanium Ultra Light II). I discovered "hot tenting" in the middle 1980's while living in Wyoming and I never looked back. Unfortunately all of my gear was destroyed in 2017 but I am slowly replacing it. I still need a sled/pulk, snowshoes, and a few odd items, but everything should be in place by the time I retire.

What a great review! It's a stove I've looked at before but not seen any proper reviews on it. My only concern is it wouldn't be high enough for the tent and with extended flue not enough draw. I'm always looked around for a smaller one to the Tentipi one I have which can be overkill at times.
You wont have any issues with the draw, it really has a strong suction. There are optional longer legs which lift it higher off the floor, they would also mean you wouldnt need the fireproof mat under the stove. The carpet became quite hot under it because it was so close as I only had the short legs and I didnt have a fireproof mat under it.

Another great review. Looking for options for heating a bell tent in the winter months or indeed those cold summer months we get. Would love a copy of the recipe.
Cheers my good man. The beauty of the GStove is that its so lightweight and compact, yet versatile enough that it can be used for many purposes. The recipe....umm chicken, onions, rice and some weird vegetables. :D
Ordered a gstove as a Christmas gift back on November 21. I get an email four days later telling me that my stove will be four or more weeks late! So I emailed them back and asked them to waive the $40 expedited shipping fee given the extreme lateness. The response I get back is a "no" followed with a thinly veiled threat to cancel my order. When I came back and asked for at least SOME of my shipping fee back, the guy said he would email me back, and it's been radio silence from the company ever since. Terrible customer service. It's December now and I STILL haven't got my stove so I can't base my review on the quality of the actual product.
@@iconsumeworlds Doesn't matter how awesome their product is if that's how they do business. Think I'll look for a cheaper similar stove with better customer service lol.
Just an idea but if you were to pack rocks around the bottom and around the sides of the stove they would heat up and give you heat after the fire has gone out like a battery. I haven't tried it myself but after watching your great video that idea just came to me. What do you think?
The Stove is nice. The only problem with it, you can’t control the burn very well. The Glass door has just too many gaps to let air in. A gasket for the door and no window would probably be better.
You can buy it without a window, in fact its cheaper. However for us, seeing the flames is extremely important. Its beautiful to look at, you can easier see when you need to add more fuel and without the glass door we might as well use our diesel heater.
I have been using mine for a couple of years now and it's the best money I have ever spent on a stove.Nothing compares. I just got the new second cooking surface for mine and I can safely say no Gstove should be without it.Great vid and review.ATB
Same as me. That optional cooking plate was a very welcome upgrade. Also got the chimney-oven and the detachable water tank. I use to have 3 pieces of 1/2" thick fireproof stones in the chimney oven, to use as baking surface (pizza-stone) or in general as heat reservoir. The 2 pint aluminium "boyscout-pot" still fits perfectly in the oven. The whole G-Stove system is so versalite, so durable, so clever. I don't regret one single cent.
Most of the heat that boils the water comes from the top of the stove not the stove-pipe. It needs a simple spacer to slide in between the stove and the water heater after it boils so it will stay hot but not boil away so fast. A quarter inch copper pipe shaped something like a Y or a U with a handle like a wishbone. Call it 'The Wishbone Regulator'.
I just purchased one of these. What is the best firelighters and wood to use to really keep the heat going and make the whole stove hot I was hoping the fold down sides would get hot but I was struggling to get them warm. I'm going overlanding and intend to use it but want to make sure I use the right fire materials.
Very nice video you put together we all thank you wish I was with you there now I look so good makes me hungry from Texas a great big thank you howdy partner me and my granddaughter built a teepee out of a tarp when it was finished 11 foot tall and 12 foot wide it's held up my one pole Later I cut another tarp for the floor and put brass grommets around so you lied down the floor and then you put the TP on top of the floor but the stakes in it and raise it up with the one Pole I wish I had this heater it would keep me warm probably 4 people could sleep in the teepee comfortable and for children cool video great big wow God bless you and your family may you live a long happy life
I'm curious how portable these are on comparison to some of the high end titanium ones that break down for a pack. Considering the proper stove for extreme camping in Alaska, possible during winter hunts, but also don't want to have to haul around something really heavy.
You can see how small it is. It is not a flat pack stove like some, but they never last as the metal is too thin. You can buy a bag for it to more easily transport it too. Check out the website in the description for prices and accessories.
I've made a few stoves now. And learned the hard way that 3in pipe sucks. As it rots out realy fast. I mean like in a couple months you can stick a finger thru it. Better to use 4in but I now prefer 6in. And can get several winters out of its pipe. Also it let's less smoke out when opening the door. So can be used as a fireplace. Heat my 35ft luxury trailer with one about the size of this one. That also is bigger around than long. This allows for a door and stove you can load bigger wood into. As it's not the size of stove that counts most. It's the size of wood you can put in it. And this year it had to be big chunks. As I had to buy wood and got ripped off by a catholic priest. Sold me a load of rotten maple wood. Guess that is what I get for trusting a priest?
I made a similar set up out of an old steel mailbox laid on it's side and 6 sections of collapsible dryer vent tube. Everything stashes inside the stove.

Hands down one of the best
Excellent review. thanks, Gotta have one. Thumbs up
Great review on the GStove saving pennies to buy one for next summer (we are located in Tasmania), we camp a lot and always looking at different recipes... I don't suppose you want to share the chicken rice recipe?
It's looks a great stove. The Leatherman of stoves.
Been looking at getting one thank you for the video
Stainless.
Stains less.
Not rust proof but apart from rough welding looks good.
Great video cheers
Thanks Tim, I actually knew that, but I think I forgot when making the video :D
@@DonegalOverlanding Well, it's obviously got the dug's appproval! :--)
@@Jigaboo123456 hahhaa yeah!
Great video, thanks!🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻
What’s the $$$ damage on the stove, hot water heater, and the flue thingy? We want to use it in our RV. (We tour ten months out of the year and Canadian winters are even colder than Scottish one’s! I’m Scots - born and bred.)
Nice to hear a voice from home!💃💃💃
Love and All Good Things,
Jesse.🌹
HI Jesse, I bought it in Sterling, so thats no good to yourself in Canada. There is a Gstove Canada website, let me just get you a link for it....gstove-canada.com/ Tell them we sent you! Maybe they will share our video on their website or facebook and we might get a few more subscribers hopefully. Do you watch Still Game? That episode when Jack and Victor head to Canada is fantastic!
I thought he was Irish? and from donigal
Yup, a lil bit pricy !
@@jls99500 .
@@DonegalOverlanding how much pls. In euro.
Amazing little stove thanks for sharing
Youre welcome.
I wasn't hungry before I watched but I am now 😋
Love their design very homey thanks for the review owesome
This product is pure camping luxury !!!!
Thanks for broadcast amazing! I want one so bad don't have extra money right now!
Thanks Kathy, good things come to those who wait! Dont forget to sub :D
@@DonegalOverlanding Thank you I'm counting on that! Lol!
Nice burn in brother :)
Yup like us Americans with are coffee but you can't go wrong with ice tea in the summer
Thanks very much for the review.
You are very welcome, thanks for the support, we really appreciate it.
Good review
Cheers Jezebal, its nice to receive positive comments. Don't be afraid to sub either, we need all the support we can get to help grow. Thanks.
Cut the firelighter in cubes or sticks. Add a flue heat exchanger a smaller fire will keep you warm all night.
mmm yummy dinner lol.wow i also have a stove like your's love my stove in my cabin works great in -50 below cozy warm
Nah, more than likely you're just a paid shill promoting this product.
@@iconsumeworlds Doesn't matter how awesome their product is if that's how they do business. Think I'll look for a cheaper similar stove with better customer service lol.
good selection for Dinner, salute. 😉
Looks like a very nice stove. Good job on the review.
Thank you very much, we would be delighted if you enjoyed it enough to sub to the channel as we work hard to grow. Have a Happy New Year!
That looks delicious.
Thank you, from Las Vegas.
Youre very welcome indeed. I just cant get over that our wee video is being viewed all around the world, it really makes the effort worth it.
I just purchased one of these. What is the best firelighters and wood to use to really keep the heat going and make the whole stove hot I was hoping the fold down sides would get hot but I was struggling to get them warm. I'm going overlanding and intend to use it but want to make sure I use the right fire materials.
Very nice video you put together we all thank you wish I was with you there now I look so good makes me hungry from Texas a great big thank you howdy partner me and my granddaughter built a teepee out of a tarp when it was finished 11 foot tall and 12 foot wide it's held up my one pole
Later I cut another tarp for the floor and put brass grommets around so you lied down the floor and then you put the TP on top of the floor but the stakes in it and raise it up with the one Pole
I wish I had this heater it would keep me warm probably 4 people could sleep in the teepee comfortable and for children cool video great big wow God bless you and your family may you live a long happy life
Wow, you really know how to eat!! Emm, ... as a weldor, those tig welds are ok, a bit on the average. Love the design though! Sure and begora.
Well then make me one and I'll send you twofiffy
Very good review ! Bon appétit également.
Thanks Gilles, positive feedback really spurs us on to make more videos for you all.
I got one similar to this from aldi $60au on the clearence table
I'm sure it is just the same. :D
That's funny I got mine at Chauncey's in Riverdale for thirty quid mate.
@@DonegalOverlanding not quite the same but just as awesome
@@HAVEAGOA great find then! Nothing beats a bargain
The oven attachment is a must...
Yeah I really want to get one of those, a hot pie or sausage roll!
When they were putting the stove into the packaging, they probably put the smoke tubes in upside down...that's why it was so hard to take out.
Its a lot easier now for sure!
Looks really nice!
Its a beauty!
Great now I’m starving 😩
...OUTSTANDING...!! Asuperman of camping stoves!! Thanks for this revirw--- 🙃😃👣
Youre very welcome!
I just want to know how low it can be turned down...and what happens when the damper is closed. Does the fire go out?
I made a similar set up out of an old steel mailbox laid on it's side and 6 sections of collapsible dryer vent tube. Everything stashes inside the stove.
