Talkin' about Statesboro here and why you should. First, thang is, it's "The Boro." I have lived in Decatur, Marietta, Cartersville, Lawrenceville, Commerce, Athens, and yes, Statesboro within 54 years. What I have found in the 20 years of college-town living I have experienced, college towns are great for "non-college" middle-aged types who appreciate the arts. First, they are affordable. Second, you have a great resource for activities, sporting events(Football, baseball, soccer, and basketball), music (jazz and classical with the Gretsch School Of Music), and finally my favorite consideration summers are smooth. The college kids clear out and you have the town to yourself while the coast is usually dreading tourist season. Whether you consider The Boro, Athens, Carrollton, or some other college town, it is a great option for people who want to live somewhere semi-small with a lot to do that is very affordable.

We’re moving there and just as you said, our realtor was in Guyton, and we asked about a house in Metter and Statesboro. We saw houses on Zillow and Redfin, that our realtor wasn’t showing! She mentioned there being a different or separate MLS.

Yes, Statesboro is a good distance away from Guyton and it is not a part of the Savannah MLS. Some agents are willing to drive that far but I have been to Statesboro exactly one time so I would not feel comfortable representing a client in that area knowing next to nothing about it myself.

Just moved from Guyton to Statesboro, bought a beautiful home. Love the rural peace but quick accessibility via main roads.

@@paulamcdonald6568 I’m glad you like it! The only reason we don’t work there is because we live nowhere near Statesboro and feel we couldn’t do a good job representing someone about a town we aren’t familiar with.

@williejohnson6182 I was just there recently. There's not a lot of Hispanic people, but walking through Walmart you definitely hear a few spanish speakers.

So, just send clients to a local Realtor, there are some major advantages to living in a University Town.
