    Finally!!! Someone who has finally explained the base model, along with the dash in detail. Rather than everyone talking about the SE version. Great video and thanks 👍👍

      When we get a new bike, I like to go farther than even the magazine guys in reviewing the bike. Most people all focus on the usual, I like to explain the little things nobody talks about.

      @@SJMudTurtleCruises Yeah and I like all the details being explained, especially when your looking to buy a bike but you want to know the info yourself before you go to the dealer. I've bought a H2 SX in the same spec as yours btw 2 days ago, just waiting to pick it up from kawasaki eventually at some point. Also there is more differences between the standard model compared to the SE version isn't there...

    • @SJMudTurtleCruises
      @SJMudTurtleCruises  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Congrats on the new bike! You will absolutely love the bike. Yes there are a lot of differences between the SX and SE, just to name a few: cornering lights, heated grips, braided brake lines plus much more. Also there is a difference between the 1st SE and the new SE's, but not sure what they are off the top of my head. But we like the SX standard model, good enough for us...lol!

      @@SJMudTurtleCruises you'd be surprised but kawasaki aren't very clear on their website on the differences between the standard and the SE model. But i do thank you for the review once again, I knew 90% of the bike but it was the dash menus and electronics that I wanted to know what was left on the standard model, engine breaking control, launch control etc etc. But you've cleared that up for me. Look after yourself and happy riding 👍🍻😎🏍

    Wow! This is extremely impressive so far. The introduction was so professional-like I really thought it was a Kawasaki promotional video. When I clicked Hubby's link I didn't know this was (your) video.
    I'm still at below 4 minutes because I'm repeating parts to understand all the different model variations. Is there a quiz at the end? :-)
    It's so late I'll be watching this into tomorrow.
    I'll comment at the end.

      Still after finally finishing, again, "Wow!" That was extremely detailed. As someone who hasn't ridden a motorcycle in decades it reminded me, and taught me more, about that motorcycle's many basic parts and features. Then, in my imagination, the accompanying needed behavior of the rider to be safe and have fun on any motorcycle.
      Thank you very much. :-)

      @@SJMudTurtleCruises Very welcome. Out of curiosity, have you or your hubby had any experience riding a 6th gen VFR800? This is what I'm currently riding but am very intrigued with the H2 SX. Problem is, here in Western Canada I haven't been able to find one to test ride, or even sit on, as of yet.
      Any opinions as to the cornering, riding position and any other comparison between the H2 and the VFR?
      Cheers!

    • @SJMudTurtleCruises
      @SJMudTurtleCruises  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Viajero69 Neither hubby nor I have ever ridden a VFR800. As far as a comparison between the two bikes concerning cornering, riding position etc., I can not compare because I have never ridden the VFR800. But looking at the specs of both bikes, I can say, the H2 SX is almost 100lbs heavier than the VFR. Both have been sold as sport tourers. Top speed of the VFR is 146mph and the H2 SX is speed limited to 168mph. Doing that math with the HP the VFR is rated at 102hp at the crankshaft and the H2 SX is rated at 200hp at the crankshaft. The take away again, never having ridden the bike would be, do you enjoy the twisties or do you enjoy the road? The VFR would be better if you are looking to ride the twisties and the H2 SX would be more suited for the straight roads. All depends on how you like to ride!

    • @Viajero69
      @Viajero69 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SJMudTurtleCruises Thanks a lot for doing the math and setting it out like that. I do enjoy twisties, a lot, but also like doing long multi day/week rides.
      I was actually able to sit on an H2 today as a customer's bike just happened to be in a bike shop that I was in today. Total luck!!
      Sitting on it, I was actually surprised at the weight, as it really didn't feel that much heavier than my VFR...maybe the centre of gravity is higher on the VFR?
      As for the twisties, I'm curious as to why you think the VFR would be better. I'm sure it probably is a bit better, but is there any reason to think that the H2 can't handle the twisties easily?
      I realize it has a LOT more power, but Iit doesn't have to be used all the time.
      Thoughts?
      Cheers!

    Thanks as I am looking at the 19 H2 SX SE and I was wondering if I was to consider the SX if it would be enough or if I would regret, after seeing the differences with one missed which is the LED fairing side light which illuminate in a 1, 2, 3 dependent on lean angle. I think the additional features esp if you can work the bags in as well are worth the extra cost, Braided lines are a must on this bike in my opinion.

    • @SJMudTurtleCruises
      @SJMudTurtleCruises  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Both bike are great! Yes the extra options you get with the SE are worth it! The only reason hubby chose the SX over the SE was he didn't like the color and just couldn't get past it...lol! Hopefully you can work a deal with the bags because they are expensive if you buy them off Kawasaki. Braided brake lines are great but you can always upgrade the lines to braided if they do not come with the bike. Whether you get either the SX or the SE, I wish you the best with the bike and remember to keep that inner animal in check because he will want to come out every time you are on the bike...lol!

      @@SJMudTurtleCruises so true. I have been strongly looking at a 19 used SX SE w 1000km only. Price great and comes w bags. I have a ZX11 and a ZX-9R both old skool but very good shape w all the mods. One will have to go, probably the ZX11. I am also looking at the 20 BMW 1000XR Not getting any younger and I want to try out a bike w all the goodies such as the H2. Your 650 is a nice bike as well. Be safe ride safe and be well. In California where I live there are seventeen 2018's SX's sitting in dealerships and close to 100 nationwide. Some are discounting them up to 4k off MSRP. The SX model has been discontinued for 19. Even though it's a great bike and was bold move by Kawa to create and market it; it appears that it never caught on like they assumed. Take Care Myke

    • @SJMudTurtleCruises
      @SJMudTurtleCruises  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know if it was that it never caught on, I think it was people wanted the upgraded SE model over the SX base model. What was offered on the SE to most, was worth the extra money, and for the ones who could not afford the extra cost went with the SX. But again the SE sold better due to the upgrades that were offered. With that thinking,it would seem logical that they would drop the SX base model and keep the upgraded SE model since that was a better seller. If it wasn't for the color of the SE, Hubby would have bought the SE but that emerald green was just too much for him. Kawasaki introduced both models in 2018 to see which or if both would be good add to their line up. The SE model made it another year, while the SX did not. This by no means, means that the SX is any less of a bike. Remember they are both the exact same bike the SX is the base model and the SE just offers a couple of extra gadgets that people preferred.

      @@SJMudTurtleCruises You make some Good points. I do not like the SE color either ; it's simply a deal breaker. The heated grips on the SE are the only thing that's a issue to me. The TPS screen is much nicer, but not a biggie to me. Launch control a center stand and steel braided brake lines are no biggie to me either. It all worked out in my advantage if my wife will let me get one!Tks again!

      It's really tricky on that particular bike with the raised bars and the shape of the tank. One of those two things would have to be changed for it to work. I know some people are in the process of making an aftermarket adapter but it needs to be raised above the tank
