I dont suggest using an axe to gather the moss from trees since you'll eventually cut down the tree, sword and scythe work just fine. Also if you have moss on trees with tappers you can still gather moss with a sword/scythe and it wont affect your tappers
Great Video! I love seeing a lot of new channels pop up more often due to the update, which is great for promoting smaller creators who can then create well edited videos about the new features! Big thumbs up for sure :)
Small tip: If you want to get moss from a tree without removing the surrounding grass, but also don't want to damage it by using your axe, you can also hit it with your pickaxe to remove & get the moss that way.
@@garlicbread529 The ONLY TRUE way to eat moss IS RAW, how DARE you EVEN SUGGEST I eat something so SACRILEGIOUS as COOKED MOSS. YOU are no TRUE moss enjoyer! GOOD DAY SIR.
Moss as a new resource now feels greatly obligatory for most elements in the game. The new type of bait can be crafted by moss itself is already huge because most fish bites almost instant when I cast my rod with Deluxe Bait applied on it. Since between crafting the simple Worm Bin and Deluxe Worm Bin level gap is too far and wide, my best option is to rely on the well collected Moss in the meantime.
It's easy to gather up moss. Go for the giant weed during green rain and check trees as you go past them during other times. I already have 800+ stack of moss and I'm not even into the 2nd year on my new playthrough.
I've found out that moss can be harvested via scythe when getting fibre near a moss tree. XD The green rain looks really interesting, a good chance to gather fibre to make grass starters or find the elusive Living Hat.
I just had the event happen, it’s really cool and it also spawns in these weird looking viney trees that if you cut them down, you get a bunch of fiddlehead fern.
thanks for the vid! i was reading the wiki and was confused bc it says there " The tree's growth stage must also be at least 14." and that "Collecting moss from a tree reduces its growth stage to 12 - the amount of Moss it dropped." im like... wth is a stage 14 tree bc im on year 1 spring 24 and never saw any moss... (it can be bc i overlooked it? idk)
I’m still picking the mushroom cave. It comes with a free dehydrator for quick and easy money for the beginning of the game. It basically make me so rich with just dried cranberries in year 1 lol.

Not edible :(

Gonna make a mod to make moss edible >:)

You can cook Moss to become Moss Soup. That is one way to make it edible.

For me, by the time I had the resources I needed to craft the first worm bin, I was already able to upgrade it!
time to save up all my moss!!! the statue of blessing is going to be an expensive craft. did not know that dang.
Ikr but it’s so worth it!

Awesome and informative. Keep it up! 🥳
Thank you! 😊
Fun fact you can use the watering can to knock off the moss,
damn.. outside of gree rain its a real pain to get moss.. how will i get enough for the statue :(
Me when I first got moss: can I eat this?
Good video, I assume you are very young, good job.
You can also use the Scythe for harvesting moss from trees ;-)
I didn’t know that thanks! If I remember correctly, I think you can also use bombs haha
That would be quite some waste but probably it will work too xD@@GuidingPixels
I like your accent, is it dutch?
Thanks!
thx for the video❤
No problem 😊
I suggest getting a pop filter for your mic
I am looking into getting a new mic already ^^
Nice video! 😎🤙
Thank you! 😊
do yk if the fern tree does something on the mushroom logs?
As far as I know it doesn’t affect the mushroom log!
is there a reason why the trees grew bigger south of the farm, or is it just a new design?
That’s just during the green rain event!
Is the 1.6 update already available in switch?😢
@@akimie8172 unfortunately no :/
does Stardew Switch have the moss update
The update is not out on consoles yet
Yo!
slay
Not having a spoiler warning is kind of frustrating for your statue segment.
First day online? 😂
so slow
Thanks a bunch! This is just what I needed~
Thanks!
