I own a 2011, around 140K km, CVT, gasoline. I've taken to very harsh places by myself or loaded with 4 passengers. I love it. This thing is from almost 15yrs ago and has electrical adjustment and heating for both front seats, sunroof until 2nd row, radio buttons in the wheel, cruise control (fixed), small display for reverse camera embedded in rear mirror (havent seen this in any other car tbh) and even a 6-CD player (wtf Nissan?). Many features you wont find in any similar and even recent ones. Go get one (specially around 2011-2012 when they were still assembled in Japan), hidden gems
Nissan X Trail (2007-2009) or Land Rover Freelander (2007-2009) for everyday car? I go to mountains and to my village few days a week where the road is rough but also i travel to work in city and i want car that is capable of both. Which one is better? It will be diesel and manual.
actually they are in Canada, my parents have one, I drive it quite frequently and i've seen at least 5 others in the city I live in, maybe they're just in northern Ontario

Currently owned cx-3, not bad, peppy and nimble. I still prefer X-trail 1st gen, looks more sturdy and firm.
I have an 06 plate Adventura and love it to bits. I am so disappointed with the new 2014 model, which is actually a Qashqui plus 2 with four wheel drive. I won't be buying one....
Absolutely agree. Nissan made a big mistake with the latest model which is just another run-of-the-mill Qashqai's, So sad after their brilliant X-Trail previous models.
I have a 4×4, 2008 xtrail model, petrol, looking sparkling new in every way, but barely three yrs now, it has engine oil leaking into the cylinder, gearbox oil also leaking thru the toll converter, eish! Feels like cheated.

I have a 2011 model with the 150 hp diesel. I average 6.8 L/100km. Excellent off road, great hauling ability with the larger body. Very happy with it.
I have an auto box. Never does better than 8.8l/100klms. Even after an engine rebuild.

2014....Ive covered 145,000 miles and not a splutter....just excellent !!
No one ever complaint about the new and tough gearbox...the best ever.

It is very powerful car, has high torque. Take manual. You will have to drive long journeys to avoid DPF clogging
