Breaking the law to save a life is justified . The man already asked for , begged and requested to lend but the chemist denied. The cause of saving his wife is a nobel cause. so if he had broke the law and order but didnot harm any individual. he can be forgiven.
But the man did harm the chemist, when he stole from his shop. What if the chemist has taken a huge loan for his shop? His cause is noble but his last method is not. I think society functions on the principle of "rules or laws or customs or trust" whatever one names it. If they are not followed then there would be more chaos. Society will become dysfunctional.
