Not just ITV. Any station. But yeah, as a teenager, I felt Australian TV went to the dogs when we switched from British comedy to American watered down crap such as Friends and Sienfield.
1 man on a white background, yet I feel I am watching a story with lots going on with various backgrounds that don't exist. He's a creative curator of story telling of the arts
What the hell are you talking about ?! There's nothing here that's 'un PC' !! Just Kenny's disruptive genius & anyone who still uses the term 'snowflake' is always a cretinous moron !!
So far ahead of his time, a show that still stands the test of time and would be impossible to broadcast today because of the woke has taken control of the media
Oh Hell How I Yearn For The Good Old Days when comedy wasn’t politically correct and actually funny and original and when anything goes, God Bless you Kenny I hope you’re keeping God entertained up there Rip you special little man 🤪💞✝️🙏🏻💕
Kenny was always much better at Thames then the Beeb - his hands don't seem to be tied as much here as his later shows weren't as good as this (but still better then anything around at the time). Sorely missed 😢
Notice how TV content has gone massively *backwards* in the past 40 years. These days they'd probably show some tossers from a trashy soap opera on New year's Day.
This was the first clip shown on Thames Television's final broadcast, *_The End of the Year Show_* on 31 December 1992, though with some edits for the opening. if you've seen it on the Internet, you'd recognize this moment at 0:53. Pretty important. Maybe it was just symbolic that it would start with Kenny Everett, in a way, starting Thames' 75-minute farewell broadcast. _(with commercials.)_
Manning was a good sport for this. Lovely to see Barry Cryer. But Everett was just so damn FUNNY. Even after all these years it's still laugh out loud funny.
Everyone knew he was gay and yet everyone liked him . All you gays out there who want to force your life style down everyone else's throats take a lesson from Kenny . Homosexuality is a preference to be attracted to a person of the same sex not a religion. All you do by being nosey and demanding is making people resent you. TV has had lots of camp gay icons especially in the past any they were real stars that people loved.
It’s Friday night at eight o’clock Oh, can’t you hear the chimes? They’re telling you to take an easy chair. Sit down by the fireside, pick up your Radio Times , The Kenny Everett show is on the air!
Kenny even just looked funny and you where already kind of laughing before he said anything. Don't mean that in a nasty or mocking way. Like Jasper Carrot, Frankie Howard, Gene Wilder or Rowan Atkinson they just automatically look funny and you knew what ever they said or done would be outrageously funny.
Sid Snot...Marcel Wave...Angry of Tunbridge Wells...Cupid Stunt...Captain Kremen...all were the products of Kenny's insanely original mind....stereotypes to die for....we shall not see his like again.....and Hot Gossip were ....HOT
Can you name some woke comedy? I honestly can’t, I think it’s an idea that resides in your head so you can get furious and send letters of complaint to the daily Mail
Yeyy it's midnight, let's all get some balloons and poshos to come laugh at the gunged working class oik and enjoy some degenerates writhing around to some awful music Not Kennys best
Kenny Everett was just simply iconic such a very funny guy his humour ground breaking very sadly missed
What a genius. Can you imagine anything like this being broadcast on ITV these days.
That's TV freeview channel 65 regular broadcasts his shows alongside benny hill, the goodies and many other classics the loony lefties tried to ban.
Today’s comedy’s are rubbish and not funny at all
Can you imagine using your real adult name?
No, thought not, you infantile coward.
Not just ITV. Any station. But yeah, as a teenager, I felt Australian TV went to the dogs when we switched from British comedy to American watered down crap such as Friends and Sienfield.
Kenny Everett , the first DJ to play Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody on British Radio , in the days when Capital radio was worth listining to
DJ's today are so grey & nondescript! Kenny Everett had it all...the banter, the jokes, the music & the jingles...totally bonkers!
Kenny was an amazingly funny and talented guy taken well before his time.
Clearly a man who just did whatever he wanted to do on his show and no one stopped him. :)
The guy was a complete genius. Sad loss
Dead right. Uninhibited genius
This man was one of a kind. There will absolutely never be another like him. Rest in Peace Big Bro:)
I recorded this on my Sony Betamax and watched it with Wendy (the one who got away) on New Year’s Day ‘81.....awesome......🙂
Imagine how nuts a Kenny Everett podcast would be.
When he was on BBC radio, it was then the equivalent of a podcast. And crazy. Recordings are here on YT
If Kenny was still here and dong podcasts, I'd subscribe in a heartbeat.
Good old days when t.v like this was funny as hell
Miss old Kenny 😂
I agree, 60's, 70's and 80's were the Golden age of TV, all reality rubbish now, and that X factor trash !
@@Loverboy19691
Bloody right
@@davidjones6470 I saw this when I was a tyke and loved it!

He left us too soon, a sad loss RIP.
Womens fashions in the early 80's were just great.
Almost 40 years ago. Miss the times before P.C and the snowflakes.
William Heywood fuck off
What the hell are you talking about ?! There's nothing here that's 'un PC' !! Just Kenny's disruptive genius & anyone who still uses the term 'snowflake' is always a cretinous moron !!
This was possibly the first time I ever got drunk, though it might have been the previous year. Still bloody brilliant.
So far ahead of his time, a show that still stands the test of time and would be impossible to broadcast today because of the woke has taken control of the media
I grew up properly. Kenny ruled.

Carla portrayed by the amazing Anna Dawson....
Good old days
Aah tiswas, Kenny, ott, them were the days
Always loved him xxxxxxxxx ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
A disco version of _We Stood Still_ by Ultravox. That I did not expect.
Doesn't sound like Ultravox to me.
David de Montseret you misunderstood what Jeff wrote... he said it was a disco cover version of the Ultravox song ‘All Stood Still’.
@@amnril Hi Neil, Yes I did misunderstand. Thank you.
Yeah I came here to find out who did this version. Does anyone know?
Oh Hell How I Yearn For The Good Old Days when comedy wasn’t politically correct and actually funny and original and when anything goes, God Bless you Kenny I hope you’re keeping God entertained up there Rip you special little man 🤪💞✝️🙏🏻💕
Is that you, Angry of Mayfair?
Omg that took me back!
Nish Kumar eat ya heart out ... Won't see any of your shows in forty two years getting any views lol !!!
The Thames TV series was so much better than the BBC outing with Everett. ITV is somewhat more risque with the sketches. Classic stuff.
Kenny was amazing and the singers and lovely dancers
They can't make programs like this any more, there no one close to his talent
Kenny was always much better at Thames then the Beeb - his hands don't seem to be tied as much here as his later shows weren't as good as this (but still better then anything around at the time). Sorely missed 😢
We miss Kenny
😂💜🙌great clip 🙏Central TV. RIP Kenny Everett.
Kenny was years before his time.
Phil McDonald He was the times!
Very funny and talented man r.i.p mate
Thank you ! ! !
I loved him in every way x
Some how I don't think Bernard was expecting what he got.

Right Toe, Right Toe -Ii miss Kenny Everett: nothing like him
Comedy genius
Kenny was a genius ! Archaic but not rude. I miss him and Barry.
Just turned 19, when this went out. Jesus better days no PC bullshit.

I was 12. I think he did the NYE the previous year too. Not 100% on that though.
This is better, and worse, than I remember it.
I've been trying to find the "where's the soap?" sketch, anyone got a link?
Written by the late, great Barry Cryer
i think this is the only episode that wasnt shown in australia
I thought Dudley Do-Right was the first one to do the "right toe" bit.
Loved how the crew pissed themslves.
Before PC. More creative times
Great days of TV
Got to ad it I loved watching this as a kid it was funny but embarrassing at the same time
Manning was a good sport for this. Lovely to see Barry Cryer. But Everett was just so damn FUNNY.
Even after all these years it's still laugh out loud funny.
Haha never fails once a genius always a genius. Sadly missed just Brill.
Funny how even though it was the 1980’s they still felt the need to announce that it was a colour production.

this is Keith lemons mentor without a shadow of a doubt.......
But Kenny was the funniest of them all I think.
Well, that's a time capsule for sure, but somehow doesn't seem so hilarious now that I'm an adult.
Carla was so cute

That's another planet that we once lived near and saw on TV. Ultravox cover. Standing Still. What a combination with the show.
Something in me wants to believe that Bernard legit knew those 3 answers.

This type of humour nowadays is very dated, however, back in the day, I used to watch with fascination...

Yes, they slowed the pace, but, on the plus side... nothing quite like them - although Pan's People became increasingly raunchy..!
