- Look inside and teardown 3-way JBL Northridge E100 upgraded floorstanding loudspeakers. The JBL e100 speakers are modded for around $800, upgraded midrange driver, audio crossover and enclosure box. Disassembly modded JBL E100 and find out why these speakers sound so powerful. To power up these JBL speaker in bi-amping, I use Kenwood KA-660 stereo amplifier for bass and Pioneer M-73 for mid and high frequency drivers. Sound source is Topping Dx3 pro USB DAC.

Hi which one is that midrange speaker? Did you have to make bigger hole in the wood?
I have the same in the nd310 variant. I'm having gr research upgrade the networks.
They both are almost the same, interesting that the nd310 has worse low frequencies playback 37Hz vs 33Hz.
And how about ES100 model?
Do you know maybe how much ohm's have those bass drivers? Are two of 16 ohms or 4 ohms? I want to build some speaker box like e100 but i need as much info of original drivers and box itself. If you have information can you tell me? Thanks.
No idea, but i have for sale JBL E100 audio crossover
Cool, but I don't like the visuals of this midrange speaker and the lack of terminals. I dreamed about E80 speakers in 2007 :D
For every day use they have black fabric grill full size. These speakers are connected to two amps in bi amping mode, these stock terminals not the best quality.
Please disassemble micro lab m960 I had them
then disassemble it yourself, it's not difficult, because I don't have this system at the moment.

Hate those tiny tweeters, common to every JBL from the 2000's have changed em twice, originally came with french ones, bought couple of British now got Chinese ones hope they will feel fine among relatives😅

Placing is as good as it can be with this number of coils at this size of PCB. It won't cause any audible issues, there are more significant issues here (driver quality, lol).
@@tomkocur Completely unprofessional. If you don't want it, you don't hear it. There is nothing professionally assembled for you to compare it to.
@@janosnagy4382 What other way would you place those coils? How exactly would this coupling reflect on measurements?
I say this is the best possible placing of coils (if we talk about the replacement XO) - the only way to improve it would be splitting the crossover into multiple PCBs. And even that wouldn't result in any audible difference on these speakers.
