    This show is just unapologetically genuine and inspiring. It's not afraid to be itself no matter how campy or boy scout-ish it gets. Which is exactly what Superman represents. And that is what makes it perfect.

      Yeah, to paraphrase one comic or the like, "Clark Kent is who I am, Superman is something I do." IE he sees himself as Clark first, and Superman second.

    Tyler Hoechlin had already secured his place on the Mount Rushmore of Supermen way before this magnificent final season, but these last few episodes in particular are undeniable proof to anyone who doubts how freaking good he is.
    He plays the role his own way, but he is at minimum a match for any previous actor you could name (and that’s no minor achievement when you consider how many great interpretations there have been). I really do think that-taking his Clark and Superman as a whole-nobody (and I do mean nobody) has played this character better than Tyler has.

    • @RobertHamilton-j6h
      @RobertHamilton-j6h 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Same. I loved Christopher Reeve, but he only had the movies to explore the character and didn't get to really flesh it out. Dean Cain was a favorite because I was little, it was Superman, but goodness it was campy. Routh did great, but everyone including the writers and designers wanted Reeve, and I liked that movie overall, it was an incredibly slow burn. I thought Cavill was awesome for what he had to work with. A lot of the problem I had with Cavill wasn't even him, but the fans. The fans just absolutely couldn't be pleased with anything and it just all became tiring and I feel it bled into the movies. As far as what is coming up in the next movie, I think they have screwed up by cutting this show short in order to make their movie. This has been one of the best CW shows ever, and the best of Superman. They're clipping their own wings. The guy playing Superman next has to compete with this portrayal that has been build up since the Supergirl show in addition to the Henry Cavill fans. I feel like it is destined to flop. All because this is what many fans wanted, and because the people in charge have this weird fear of competing Supermen, they cut out the one people like. Makes no sense.

    Given the budget constraints, the flashback scenes and TV images was an effective way to show Superman being Superman without big expensive CGI special effects. Outstanding way of showing how hard it is to be Superman in ways that most people never think about. I'm assuming that limiting the action this season, outside of the Doomsday fight, means they can throw their $$ on a big closing fight between Superman and Lex's war suit.

    What I absolutely freaking LOVED about this episode was how we got to see how keeping The Secret affected Clark. Not Superman, but Clark. The sacrifices he had to make because he thought he was doing the right thing. When Lois explained to the boys what it was like for him growing up, it really highlighted how difficult it was on Clark from a very young age. And the interview with the Planet was incredible - “just a regular guy.” And the ending with Jimmy, burying the hatchet with him… I was so glad they ended the episode like that. You know there’s going to be massive, massive fall-out from this decision, but you know what? For now, Clark just gets to take a breath and enjoy living his truth.

    • @jasonaugustine3370
      @jasonaugustine3370 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The support Clark has from his family influences his decisions so much. He is selfless because he has such incredible support. From his parents to Lois and his kids. It is a great show. Being able to take a deep breath is very important and not something everyone gets to do. Great example for a hero but more so for a husband and father.

    THIS IS SUPERMAN, my god a superhero show this good when you can have an episode like this where the wasnt a single fight, in fact i think we only see Clark in full Superman suit in the dinner, but is more gripping that most action shows. the character work is amazing, i care for everybody and i get their problems, it never get overdramatic or the character need to make stupide desicions to make the plot insteresting. the fact that this is the first time we are watching this version of Jimmy Olsen and i care for him and Clark relationship as if i have meet him from season 1. i just hope at least one writer from the futuro DCU stories get to watch this show and get to make something half as good as this

    This show is incredible and no one talks about it. This tyler dude is almost on Reeve's level and DESTROYS cavill on a fucking cheap CW show. The part where the bullet is flying to him, and he looks at lois with like a defeated look, and takes off his glasses to rip his shirt off is one of my all time fav tv/movie scenes. His eyes/face looking at her was incredible acting without saying a word. It's a travesty this show is getting cancelled, the showrunners said they had planned for 7 seasons and now they compressed the next three seasons into this one. Pretty sure his reveal was supposed to be for that seventh season.

    And Bitsie Tulloch? She’s my definitive Lois Lane. Her emotional depth in every scene is unmatched; she brings such intensity to those powerful moments. Season 4 alone cemented her as the ultimate Lois Lane in my eyes.
    The entire cast brings their A-game, no doubt. Even the previous Jonathan actor did a solid job, and Michael Bishop has been incredible in the role as well.
    I could keep raving about this show, but there’s just too much to say. This show deserved at least seven seasons, but I’m glad they’re going out with an epic finale.

    Jordan having social anxiety problems as the opening defining line by the series premier monologue admittedly felt like a diversity grab when I First saw it.
    but then Clark demonstrating how he was a recluse, isolating himself, and antagonizing people around him, whether Lana as a romantic possibility, or Jimmy feeling rejected despite his numerous offers of friendship, or how even his bullies(Kyle) focused on him.
    Clark may not have been diagnosed with social anxiety but he demonstrated he lived like he had those difficulties.
    That bullet time where he had to synthesize a lifetime of fear and behavior, and then risk vulnerability. But also presumably not retcon it. This may actually be Novell storytelling for the franchise. Which is crazy to think about considering how old this franchise is. have we ever seen the Superman reveal himself fully to the world and not get undone.
    One of the top film TV moments of all time. Definitely makes Tyler Hoechlin earn a place in history as one of the greatest Superman actors and one of my personal favorites.

Reeve was the best Clark, Cavill was the best Superman, Tyler really embraces and portrays them both the best. I really hope the writers of this series get a spot in James Guns universe, and I hope Guns version of Superman picks up on this idea and digs deeper into it. I really hope we are all not let down by Junes Superman

    One of my favorite episodes ever for any Superman Series. I wonder how many lawsuits Clark will receive now for damages from his saves and from the injuries caused to villains or bystanders.

    They actually did the revealing the secret to the world thing in the comics a few years ago except in that Clark did it just because he felt like it (instead of multiple things showing that keeping the secret might not be the best option) and Jon actually wanted a normal life still (he made a whole new fake identity so he could go to college without drawing attention and an active shooter showed up at the school before he could even walk through the entrance so he revealed himself to stop them). The secret was forced back in now by Luthor though and Jon can lead a relatively normal life

    This show solidified that Tyler Hoeclin is the 2ND BEST (behind Christopher Reeve) Clark Kent/Superman. He understands the core of who Clark and Superman is. The writers for this show really know and love these characters.

      Yes. And Batman hates criminals but vigilantism _is_ a crime (there are plenty of similar examples; that's just the first one that came to my mind). Superheros usually have to straddle that line.

    I have no idea how or why this episode hit me right in the feels. Nothing crazy happened or a death or terminal illness type thing. I can see how people in the LGBTQ commumity could relate in a coming out way but that doesnt apply to me. It just so well written. Im glad to know I wasnt the only one that reacted this way to the episode.
