  • We teamed up with Cylinder Works and Hot Cams to build a bike for the Upshift fleet with new riders in mind to ride in Idaho. The 2017 Honda 250X is reliable and trusted as a great entry-level machine. The 250X hasn’t actually changed between 2004 to 2018, so there’s a lot of these bikes around. For this build, we focused on making the bike a little more comfortable for shorter female riders riding offroad. By having Factory Connection lower the suspension, and installing a slightly lower Moto Seat, we were able to reduce the standover height by over an inch.
    Our other main goal was to increase the power on the bike as the stock 250X is really corked down, but the potential for improvement is there. We wanted to make this bike as fast and strong as an R model with a few of their reliable mods. Check out the full build sheet at: bit.ly/2HHtjVH

    I have the 04, 256 kit gave me enough extra to be able to stop and start on long hill climbs without abusing the clutch. Along with a full FMF exhaust q4 silencer. No air box mods, would rather have the water and dust protection offered by the snorkel. Local dealer suspension work, jetting and remote adjustable fuel, idle changes, custom grab handle, Clark 3-gal tank, fat bars, power port, EE bark busters, lithium battery with tender lead, trail tech pro gps.

    The only IMS 3.2 gallon plus tank I see is for a CRF250R 2014-2015. Did you come across any fitment issues?

    How did you lower the bike? I don’t see an aftermarket linkage on your bike. Thank you.

      Factory Connection lowered it. They actually do it internally.

    Those graphics look amazing do you know where you got them printed because I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find any I like

      We really can not remember where we got them printed. They were something we designed ourselves though. Unfortunately, it's not something that we will be selling. There are trademark rules in place that prohibit it.

      This was a long time ago and we would not get behind anything TUSK at this time. We work with Dubya USA for wheels.

    Hi, saw your comment on ft9's goggle video. Can you please give insight on which goggles to buy from your experience in the industry? Thank you!

    • @UPSHIFT_ONLINE
      @UPSHIFT_ONLINE  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best goggle on the market right now in terms of performance offroad is the Scott Sports prostect. It is an inhouse design meant for offroad. Not a ski goggle that has been re-purposed or an open mold goggle from a chinese manufacturer. From a clean sheet of paper it was designed for offroad/motocross use. Largest field of view out there, the lens is locked in place, much larger strap, made in the usa etc. etc. We have also been impressed with the new Leatt goggle. It might be a little overbuilt though. But very high quality. EKS Brand is also making goggles that fit really well and of decent quality for the $$.

    How exactly do you tune a dirt bike? Sorry that might be dumb, I’m a beginner looking for a 250x

    • @UPSHIFT_ONLINE
      @UPSHIFT_ONLINE  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks for reaching out Ryan. This is a solid question actually. The words "tune" or "tuning" can be pretty general or pretty specific depending on the context. It really is in reference to setting a bike up for the rider, their preferences, the environment and terrain they are riding in etc. Where it gets specific is when referencing something like engine tuning. On this bike for example, we changed the actual displacement of the bike so we needed to adjust how much air and fuel the engine was getting from the carburetor which can be done by changing the jetting. If the bike was fuel injected, we could change the those same functions using a laptop and manipulating the bikes ECU or Engine Control Unit. You can tune the suspension based on your weight, riding style, bike, height etc. The combination of tires, bar position, lever position, seat height etc. can all be discussed under the umbrella of tuning a bike to the rider.

      In terms of "Race Bikes" that's considered by many to be an old bike. Probably should have said something like... this generation is getting older.

      Technically is kind of an old bike back then because it hasn’t changed. So basically may be new year, but old tech
