    Hey, Brandi 🌻🍁. I accidentally crackled a dark, wooden, varnished, box that was made by my dad. I painted over it with white chalk paint and as it dried it began to crackle 😂🤣. It accidentally turned out beautiful 💖. Thank you so much for sharing sweetie pie ❤️

      I am not sure if I am going to do them every week, but still several times a month. Right now I think I just keep trying to film them so I can figure out what I am doing as I do these as I film with no voice over. I am so happy you love them!

    The baby wipe and I have a love hate relationship. I love to use it but hate that it leaves so much fuzz behind on my wood 🪵 😫 lol. I love how these turned out. I really love the way the aged look came out. I also love that crackle. When I first got it I had to crackle everything 🤣 Thank you for sharing.

    • @thediystruggle
      @thediystruggle  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use water wipes, these don't do that as much! Also, the sanding helps to make sure the board is really flippin smooth and the wipe doesn't have much to catch on..But, my true fav is to use a damp sponge... shhhh.. I will be showing staining stuff in a few weeks..lol

    Brandi you are a walking encyclopedia of information! You won’t believe this, but I was tossing around ideas for crackle finish this evening when I remembered you were on TH-cam on Tuesdays! Boom your doing crackle! - I have a question about decoupage over crackle. Do you have any suggestions or ideas on that? I’m trying to make a gift for my daughter. Anyways, I hope you have a tiny idea on how much I appreciate you! And your tutorials tonight were fantastic once again!!! Thank you so much!

    • @thediystruggle
      @thediystruggle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't know about that, but I sure do appreciate the thought, you are to good to me..lol I just know that when I started I wish someone was real and sat down in videos to really explained stuff like this, so I am giving it a go! Did you see the collab video I did with Sammie in July?? If not it is on HER CHANNEL, I did a TABLE with crackle and decoupage... The title is everyday vintage decor. If you go back into unicorn dust designs content. I used crackle but not OVER the decoupage. AROUND IT... so I decoupage the Rice paper in that in a local point and then crackled the ENDS around the paper to make it look like the rice paper blended into the table.... I have no actually done a crackle over a decoupage... if I did. I guess it depends on the piece. It sounds like a really amazing idea. I hope this helps...

      Crackle is deff trial and error, but I promise be generous with the amount you use, AND ONE use one brush stroke over the area. Tell yourself its meant to look old and you will love the result!
