Huhhhh??? Bali??? My youngest sister visited it with her then small children years back and she really freaked out when her youngest son pointed to a place above a cupboard and asked “mummy, what’s that?” when there was nothing there. My elder sister also visited some years back and she freaked out big time on the night when all, ALL, lights had to be out and the whole island would be in total darkness. She also got spooked by the many idols everywhere. Her daughter who loves Bali found out about Lombok and goes to Lombok instead of Bali now. Just wondering if it’s a good place for Muslims.
Looks like your sister was in Bali during Neyepi. Much like checking if there’s public holidays when you travel in Europe to avoid the local crowds, it’s good to check if there are festivals or religious days in eastern countries. Great thing about this side of the world is they stick to their customs, traditions and religious beliefs without compromise to western tourists - unlike Europe and beyond where it’s ‘secular’ when it suits them.
What your son may have pointed at was a little gecko (small harmless lizard) which are present everywhere here. Zakariya loves them and calls them babies 🤣 they move around quick - it’s just a different way of living here than what you may be used to.
@@FieldofVisions he was just a tot so he couldn’t have seen a gecko if it were there as the cupboard was high. My sis felt it was a spirit but I know a lot of people like Bali. My late friend, a Malaysian Muslim said her two favourite countries were India and Bali, though Bali is part of Indonesia and not a country on its own.
lots of Indian influence can be found in Indonesia even today. The name Indonesia means "Indian islands". picture of Lord Ganesha, one of the most popular deity in India was inscribed on the 20,000 rupiah note of Indonesia. Indian currency also called Rupiah in Hindi. Indonesian Airlines is called Garuda which is an Indian deity. lots of ancient Hindu and Buddhist temples getting unearthed in Indonesia. Bali is an Indian name. Bali has 87% Hindu population. In past whole Indonesia was Hindu but now Hindus are left in Bali only.
Great facts!
Not whole of Indonesia are Hindu in the past... Eastern part like Whole Papua in New Guinea, Southern Molluccas, Flores,Sumba n Timor mostly animisme and during Colonial era become Christians... And now more than 10 % approximately around 30 Millions Indonesians are Christians, Hindus around 5 Millions..
Dirty polluted area not really good life we just went in March 2024 ,overpopulated, overpriced, not convince to go out ,for that low level standard not that prices
