- I went to one of my favorite spillways and finally caught the wiper I have been dreaming about for so long. It was absolutely huge. How big? You'll have to watch and see.

wow thanks for sharing my frnd. Fishing Fishing is more fun. From Philippines🤝👍🇵🇭 thanks. Keep safe
Thanks for watching! Greetings from the US!
A lot of fishing involves getting to know the water that you fish and being in the right place at the right time. Congrats on the 14 pd trophy wiper.
I think you hit it spot on with this comment! Thank you!
Those hybrids are sooooo much fun! Congrats on the catch!
What a blast they are to catch! Thanks!
That’s a tank! Congrats man!
Thanks!
son and I were just down there monday morning.. caught a bunch of white bass and a smallie ... great catch!!!
The white bass bite has been pretty disappointing this October - for me at least. Last year they came in by the thousands and many were in the 2-3 lb range but I think the low water has affected them this year. Thank you!
@@BackroadsAngling we were there for about hour and half and started catching them on a purple pulsar with chartreuse paddle tail.. caught prolly 15 but no wipers glad I got to see you catch that monster!!
Nice catch buddy. Finally got your DD huh?
Thanks, yes I can check that one off the list!
Dreams do come true! Heck of a fish dude. Congrats. It had some shoulders!
Thanks! I was at Bass Pro Shops 3 days before I caught this fish. I was staring at the fish in the tank and I told my wife "Do you see that fish right there (pointing at the huge wiper). If I caught that fish I would retire from fishing." 3 days later I caught that fishes twin. Maybe my wife planted a bunch of big ones below this spillway so I would retire and spend less time fishing!
Sweet! I still haven't caught one!
I hope you do!
Congrats man that was one heck of a catch! I cant imagine how fun that fight was
Thanks, I was getting my butt kicked for awhile but luckily he decided to come back towards me!
congrats! you definitely seem to put in the time. what a great fishery you have there.
Thanks! I try to make the most out of the mornings before work. It's a formula that has worked for me. This river is really amazing. I like how it's constantly changing and different species are moving in and out all the time. You have no idea what you might get on any given day!
Wow! You earned that!
Thanks! I think I did. I had a lot of slow mornings that led up to this fish!
Great job ! What a monster . Biggest one I ever caught was about 12lbs
I'll take a 12 lber any day. That's a heck of a fish!
HELLUVA WIPER! WELL DONE! 💪😎🎣
Thanks! It definitely gave me a run for my money!
Definitely take the big wiper over the flatty! Nice going. A heart stopper for sure.
I agree! Thanks!
Giant wiper dude
Probably the biggest one I'll ever see! Thanks!
Waited for your double figures this season (missed the episode may be) and what a great fish you caught. Would have given you a proper bucket dump on that PB for sure! Very exiting to have watched. Thank you!
I was never able to find a double digit fish in the spring so it was nice to finally get one here! I would take a bucket dump for sure on this fish! Thanks!
In your opinion which PB is more impressive a high double digit wiper or a PB flathead
I think a 15 lb wiper is the same as a 45-50 lb flathead
@@BackroadsAngling I agree although I have never caught 15 pound wiper or a 50 pound flathead I have caught a ten pound wiper on the same river. Yesterday I caught two small wipers on the other side of the spillway where the powerplant is at It's been pretty good because of the good cloudy conditions. Caught on a zoom super fluke junior smokin shad color
looks like the water has went up a bit. I went to the spot a couple of month ago and the kitties was running but no wiper
The water is super low. We need it to rain about 2 inches every day for the next few weeks. October has actually been very slow this year compared to last year when the white bass/wipers showed up in big numbers. I just happened to get lucky and hit a few unicorns in early Oct. otherwise it has been tough to get bites.
Wow..
Congratulations, Sir! Thanks for sharing that experience. While you deserve a lot of credit for that, I also think train-karma had something to do with it...
Thanks! 90% of the reason I fish this spot is for the train sightings. 5% is for the ducks that I am convinced are actually trying to sabotage me by getting tangled/snagged and 5% is for the big fish!
@@BackroadsAngling Not only do I appreciate all of that, but also that you can break it down by percentages!
Hey you should make a square bill cranck
. MONSTER WIPER!!! Have a mount off the pictures it will last forever.
I got some measurements in case I want to have a replica mount made. Might look nice on the wall! Thanks!
@@BackroadsAngling that's great 👍 it would make a great talking point 👉 to friends & Family as well as to yourself memories.I always Lose the biggest fish when I'm alone, just like you almost did. I had a Huge Muskie throw the Treble hook 🪝 on the bank. I should have dragged him further into the woods but I let tension off the line & my Record Muskie went back but I did grab him like at a Pig 🐖 Wrestling Contest! Wet bank & I didn't expect I needed a Gaff in Freshwater!! It was Enormous, I spotted it eating my large bream On My Stringer. So I tied on my largest hook 🪝 a treble & pitched it back out & he jumped on it! He Almost peeled my line off. THE ONE THAT GIT Away !!! 🎣
Sounds like quite an adventure!
@@BackroadsAngling yeah it was, but in another state I landed a 2 lb rainbow 🌈 it's still on the Wall! My first trout. Have you ever had Luck with live bait???
I’ve been there on Monday I didn’t catch anything 😂
It's been very slow this October for the most part. This was filmed a few weeks ago. The water is way too low and the white bass/wipers did not show up in the thousands like they did last year. There was a short period in early Oct. when a few unicorns like this one showed up. Other than that you have to work for whatever you can get.
I’ve been fishing a lot of all your spots , I think I will meet you someday and put me on your camera ❤😊😊
@@huamei1835 Sounds good I'll see you out there.
I hear Wipers put on a hell of a fight! 🎣 Congratulations!
I think this video is good evidence of that! I would have been in big trouble if this fish didn't decide on his own to turn around and come back to me. Thanks!
@@BackroadsAngling I'm the kind of guy who's isn't jealous of another Angler I'm happy they are successful. Once I had about 11 to 13 big Crappie on my stringer. Here comes a man with his Son, I told them where the school was at & gave some Advice. My dad is passed but it Reminded me of dad & I as a kid. Keep on fishing 🎣 good luck 🤞 to you.
