An icon in Chattanooga for some 80 years. From a carhop driven on to a full service diner. The staff were like family, who actually enjoyed seeing their frequent customers walk through the door. The wait, and there often was a wait, for a seat at the counter or a table or one of those classic red booths was always orderly (no numbers, no reservations). The menu was simple and hardly ever changed. The price of each item on the menu included the sales tax. Everything on the menu was good. Favorites included the cheese burgers and those famous onion rings, a hamburger steak with grilled onions, lettuce salad and French fries, fried chicken livers, catfish, and the best fried shrimp anywhere. The Jones family leave a legacy of good food and good service. Charlie, June, and Jimmy knew their business and they made that little red brick diner famous. Politicians, entertainers, sports stars, and celebrities often visited for their favorite meal. Everyday folks who loved the food and the atmosphere came often, sometimes more than one time in a week. Just want to say to everyone who worked there for so long for the great food and great memories of good times at Nikki’s. Best of luck to Jimmy in his retirement.

Had some Frog Legs with my buddy Alex while JT and Jeff has the shrimp, during orientation at Miller Electric late ‘18. I seen that this place is closed permanently and that makes me sad. Enjoyed the food and the people that worked there.

Wow sad to see it was closed. If you remember there was a photo of Tina Turner inside. I was working the concert in the 80s and the crew asked where they could get Tina a good burger, I turned them on to Nikki's. Went in later and there was the signed photo. Amazing times and amazing foods. So sad.......
