Lazy people at work can be toxic for the workers trying to do there job. The hard working people see this and it makes them want to stop working as hard and slow down and its worse when you tell the boss and they do nothing about it. Its a sure way to bring down moral in a work place.
100% They address the problem, it gets better for a week and then it goes right back to trash. It's affecting my mind. My house is a mess. I'm going to walk out today if the place is a mess. I made that place shine. I busted my ass all week. Let's see what they did to the kitchen in 2 days. If it doesn't look like it did when I left on Friday. I'm going home.
Why would I work hard and get paid when someone else works so little and still gets paid? My work ethic is too strong to lose motivation. However the company is losing money when they’re paying full price for someone who does half their workload. Double whammy is the person picking up the slack will expect to be paid higher for doing extra work! So company is paying more than less due to 1 employee’s poor performance.
I'm on the same boat, I decided if things dont get taken care of, I'll send them to the co-worker that was supposed to deal with it. I'm not putting out any more fires.

Create a situation in which they are exposed. Make it unpleasant for them. Very.
