Looks like you gave them a white primer coat first followed by a finish coat of black. The hornets won't have to worry about rust in the future, either.

You'd be surprised to hear that WD40 also kills them, I hit a couple years ago on the ground and one of them I followed as it took flight going up higher and higher, got about 20 feet up and like a WWII airplane hit by a missile- just suddenly conked out and fell straight down to the ground, funniest thing ever!
Just a squirt bottle with a teaspoon of dish soap, water and peppermint oil kills crickets that get in the house in seconds. I did a video a while back on that. Insects dont handle oils, solvents, soaps or essential oils at all, it messes up their nervous system and more.

Petroleum distillates pass through the exoskeletons, and bond directly to the insects nervous system. They lose motor control, and often lose the ability to breathe. Petroleum distillates are in spray paint, most insect killers, and gasoline. The latter is banned as an insecticide by the EPA, but would be an extremely efficient insect killer. Direct contact with the paint would impact motor control and coordination. The fumes would also be very toxic to them.

@@wasphunter7131 i actually did that a few years back working maintenance (had to handle hornets but had 0 gear and didn't wanna get close). Didn't hit the nest, but dropped a decent number of them as they went about their business.
It greatly weighs them down, and assuming you have 2+ cans firing at a nest, i'd guess that it covers them so thoroughly that they can't even see or escape. It's thick enough, with enough adhesive power that it may well seal them in _faster_ via the early leavers.
That said, yes, it easily the most satisfying way that i have ever killed wasps, and a pro doing it to a nest would easily be an amazing video.

I enjoyed this and subbed. Pretty good show but just adding my experience. After getting attacked mowing at home I experimented to get rid of a ground nest. I used a 10 ft long pvc with a few inches of rather curved pex stuffed in the end, poured in a good fill of Rose Dust into the pex and extended it to the hole, blasted into the pvc with canned air and the nest was dead the next day. Rose Dust was all I had and it is very inexpensive. I took that method to my work at a 16 building apartment facility and we never had make an emergency call to Terminex again. Kids pointed out bald face balls and it worked very well on them too. You observed when the ball that was cut open there on the bench it was fully infused. Waiting alone would have done the dead. We had a beekeeper suit but never needed it for outside work.

      >> It is environmentally friendly (often used by nature conservationists).

Spray paint. Nice touch. Whenever I see a bug that I don’t like on my job site, I grab a spray can of whatever is on hand.

I believe that the paint was more effective than the foam. Much less activity from the hornets with the paint.

Good trick using spray paint. This is NO WAY I would have done this during the day!. That was very dangerous. I would have hit that nest just before dark!

  • @Torrath7411
    @Torrath7411 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Spray paint is great. Brake Kleen is better. Carb and Choke cleaner is amazing. Especially if you want to light the nest on fire. Just some of my observations.
Keep up the good work. Always fun to watch.

I have to hand it to ya. That black paint definitely did the job. Some year's back l took orange paint to some bumblebees that were in
A wall of the garage. Stay Safe ✌️ oh l subscribed to ya.

Your camera sound is really great - I was swatting with my hand a few times watching this. Between the smoke & the spray paint it was double trouble for them ! In a year how many Hornets nests do you typically take out ?

I personally recommend rubberized undercoating. Even if they try to fly away they just drop to the ground. Seals the rest inside. Job done.

Try spray adhesive, or give it a good shot of acetone (fingernail polish remover).
    Or ether, or hairspray.
A little shot of oven cleaner might do it, too.

Uh seems to me a pair of pruners and or the long handled loppers would be very beneficial to keep with you for getting nests out of trees/shrubs.

When I was 3 or 4 years old, one morning I discovered a black wasp nest in an exterior wall of our house. I found a can of silver spray paint and sprayed the crap out of those wasps and the hole they were crawling in and out of. Needless to say, my parents weren't amused when I showed them what I did.
