Hi, local rider and trail maintenance guy here. Both best as part of a local route, not really a destination ride per se, as most of the Dark Peak... best appreciated as part of a longer ride. Very nice video
I've been riding that trail on a mountain bike since 1990 when I was on a rigid muddy fox. Before that I rode it on a BMX as a kid. Now I'm on an E-bike lol 🙂
If you're on Komoot I've a planned route called Lady C, Fox Hagg, Stanage and Blackamoor. This is a route which includes many of the best trails in the area. There are a few road sections to link the places up and the route can be easily altered if the length is too much.
There are some dedicated mtb trails I the nearby lady cannings plantation that make for a nice flowy warm up to the techier blackmoor.from there you can head down the houndkirk road to access devils elbow. Turn off the houndkirk road down jumble road if you wish to start at the upper section or go the full length of houndkirk road to start at the top.
Walked home along here with the kids to avoid the mental busy main road, stepped out the way for a guy wheezing slowly up on a bike who thanked us, but I didn't realise it was also a place for fast bikes?
How far did you travel? The Devil's Elbow is a great little trail but those two runs are about 6 minutes of riding. The editing is great and must take ages so hats off. For future ref Stanage plantation decent is only a few miles down the way. Lady Cannings plantation is a stones throw. Loads of great riding up around there.
MTB Derbyshire hi thanks for the tips, we’re about 1hr 30mins away. I used to live more towards the West Midlands so tended to head towards Wales etc when it came to riding, but now im East Midlands Leics/Derbyshire border I’ve been hitting the peaks more and more, it’s just learning where these trails are and how to link them altogether, there doesn’t seem to be an obvious climb to the top of Devils Elbow. Thanks for appreciating how much effort goes into getting these different shots, it’s especially hard when it’s a new trail I’ll spend ages getting a cool shot of a decent feature to literally going round the corner and being presented with a scene that blows it all away 😂

Great vid mate! Love riding here!
These videos must take so long to make the quality of angles and editing is the best of any MTB channel !
