By 2019 Trumps policies doubled the number of people crossing the southern border to 977,000. He only saw a reduction for the first 9 months of 2020 due to covid, before it went back to a 20 year monthly high in October of 2020. It has remained a 20 year high and increasing ever since under Trumps failed policies and Title 42.
Title 42 suspended title 8 laws and authority use to deter and penalize illegal border crossing. The Right was using it to undermine legal asylum under 8 US code 1158. It also suspended 8 US code 1325; the misdemeanor that carries a civil penalty for crossing the border illegally. And 8 US code 1326; stiffer penalties for crossing the border after deportation
That left out any legal penalty or deterrent for those crossing and stopped legal asylum, with few exceptions under title 42. Makes it difficult to enforce immigration laws when Republicans are fighting in court to undermine our legal enforcement. With title 42 suspending enforcement many immigrants re-crossed multiple times causing apprehension numbers to be inflated. The current rate of multiple returns was about 40% of border crossers.
Not only impeach him, hold him criminally liable.
Mayorkas should be arrested and held for life considering the intentional damage he’s caused and the deaths that have occurred due to his neglect.

It seems now that the people may finally be served their due portion of justice if and when the Secretary of Homeland Security is finally impeached!
It is disheartening to hear the responses to everything that is being laid out in front of these Democrat officials who refused to listen to what is being said and their response is everything they said is a sham. It is disrespectful for them to say this when they have officials sitting in front of them telling them the problems that have happened at the border.
It's a sham and they're gaslighting the ignorance of many gullible people... Republicans voted against the legislation, they presented absolutely no alternative and then they complain about Democrats not doing anything... they're derelict in fulfilling their job.

In no way defending the Mayorkas but he's paid lots of lipservice to buy more time and the actual effects of his policies have taken time to become undeniably statistical. 3 years ago the statistics were not definitively associated with the policies, but with years of outcomes to present as evidence it is now possible to confront one of the most powerful men in America with impeachment. The republican party probably could have made a move 1 year ago with statistics in hand but they are clearly not the most cohesive unit.
Also there were court decisions that many thought might cause some kind of reaction in the practices at the border but the Secretary's blatant disregard for those decisions and his blatant perjury is now apparent enough to be undeniable.
Democrat simps only reaction is to deflect and accuse concerned congressmen of grandstanding even as valid concerns are laid before all.

If anyone can look around at our country today and not think “this is what happens because of single issue voters” they don’t understand how manipulative politicians are. The last election was expected to be a red wave but thanks to single issue voters who only cared about abortion rights that didn’t happen. Now we have a Democrat majority senate and (due to some resignations and a removal from office) a 1 seat majority in the house. We ended up with Biden because too many people only cared about him not being Trump. How about every State ask their constituents to vote on wether or not we should be rewarding illegals waltzing across our border with tax payer money, phones, transportation and housing?
