Remembering Jack’s last round there in ‘95, the wave on the bridge, my son with me in the crowd opposite the green, the tears, and oh yes, the wonderful birdie finish for the greatest champion golfer of them all.
There truly IS a golfing God somewhere!. Thanks for the video, love it there

This very literally brought a tear to my eye. When I was eight years old, I was back in Scotland with my parents and we walked the OLD Course. Have only r3ecently found the pics of me standing near the 18th green. Great review!!

Had the pleasure of playing the old course twice and just walking to the first tee gets you shaking waiting to tee off, but it is great when you tee off and walk over the bridge to the 18th green and all the visitors are watching you. Felt like a Pro after a par to finish 🏌🏻‍♂️😋

In autumn 1999 I rocked up to the tourist information office in the town to find a hotel, also in the hope of playing a round. They found a room was available at the Rusacks, which overlooks the 1st/18th. The golf shop in the hotel made the phone call to book me a round, and when I turned up at the starter's office I was teamed up with 3 young Aussies who were working in the golf industry locally. So I was very lucky that they knew the course well and were also very friendly: despite my sometimes wayward shots they always knew where to look for my ball, and I managed to play the Old Course with the same ball (which for me was an achievement even on a bog-standard course).
We came down the 18th as dusk fell, and my wife (who had very helpfully passed the time browsing the shops) was there to take a photo. A lovely Rusacks dinner overlooking the hole rounded off a fantastic experience.

With that music, I'm expecting to hear David McCullough explaining Antietam to me.
