Have any guitar licks really opened your eyes to new phrases, techniques and approaches? For me, they really helped with bending and pull-offs I wouldn't normally have played. Make sure to grab the free practice tabs here for download! rb.gy/f8ubz
This is the correct way to teach guitar! Not just showing the licks but also explaining where are they located on what scale and in what quality these notes play role in the scale! Makes learning much more easy! I appreciate it mate! Thank you!
Ditto for me. And thank you. As with all things in life, there's alot of people that are good at what they do. But not every one of those have a knack for teaching others. i.e. Eddie VH sent his son to Joe Satriani for lessons.
Really enjoyed this and not something that often gets spoken about. I've done a little bit of this subconsciously. I can definitely see the benefit of actively thinking about this and implementing it during practice.
@PaulWarrenMusic it definitely was helpful. Knowing the "why" behind something can be essential to so many things and not just musical development. It helps with engagement and perseverance which are keys to learning.

You're a badass teacher man. You really explain things well. I appreciate the philosophy of "why to learn licks" that you have shared
