I really miss the concave centers of the Aoyan... I don't think i could get used to a flat skewb anymore. The x-man, maybe, since I already own the V1. The Aoyan in general was just so nice and sturdy and i lack a good bit of control on those newer Skewbs.
My wingy v1 popped about once in every 5 solves. My Gan enhanced skewb hasn't popped even once in over 1000 solves. I will destroy the wingy...

How do you lube your RS? I found that when adding any sort of silicone (lubicle speedy, weight 5) it just slows down until you can barely turn. Thus I only put water based lubes in it(dnm). Do you run into this problem a lot?@@MagmaCubing
@@Square-one123The RS Skewb while good is naturally slow. The only way I was able to combat this is add weight 2 to the springs, and mystic on the pieces. Hope this helps
this is a very good video and its nice to finally see a newer comparison for skewbes as im getting into it im thinking of getting the gan or meilong as i already have the wingy v2 and v1 sadly i cant find the rs anywherre

I currently own a Moyu RS Skewb (non-maglev)
I average just about sub 8 (high 7) with Sarah's Intermediate and I was hoping to be faster ( hopefully sub 4 or even Low 3 someday :) )
1) I wanted to know about your RS Skewb setup.
I set my RS with:
Dnm-37 (Fast Lube) on the pieces
Spring Tension on default/loosest
Screw Tightness at default
Note: I realised that even a drop of Silk (Slow Lube) would make the puzzle horrible as the skewb is not too fast
2) Is it just me or does your Rs Skewb's Spring Tensions keep on changing itself, maybe its because of the compression being at loosest/default?
3) Lastly any tips to get faster at Skewb?
Hey Charu,
1.) I have My RS at the second spring compression with weight 5 on the springs and Mystic and DNM-37 on the pieces. This gives the cube a bit more stability while making if a bit faster and more effortless to turn.
2.) I personally have not experienced this issue so Idk how to help with that.
3.) To get faster I would say be color neutral, plan inspection and work on fingertricks. You can easily become sub 6 with those implemented in your solves if you know Sarah’s Intermediate. I also have some skewb walkthrough solves if you want a look into how I solve the skewb

I tried adding about half a drop of silk and 4 more drops of DNM-37 and it helped!

Yes, it’s my favorite event. I average low 4 mid 3 on a good day.
But what should i get for my first one? I'm thinking about getting the RS Skewb for my first skewb, do you think it's a good choice? If you don't, then which one should I get, thank you for reading
Yes, the RS is the best beginner skewb. The other options are for pros or intermediate solvers. You could still get those puzzles and do good, but the RS is the best for beginners especially at the price

Yes those were the days. I always preferred the AoYan

No you can not. However concave skewbs don’t necessarily improve grip.
is the rs better than cyclone boys one? have you tested it yet?
Yes the RS is better. I never owned a Cyclone Boys skewb but have tried many. It is an older model so it is a bit locky and clunky in feeling. The RS is newer and also has the dual adjustment system

Hey. I wanted to get a skewb. But i dont know which one. ım deciding between the Moyu Rs Maglev or The Meilong Maglev. I have Never Solved i Skewb Before and i Wanne Get into the Event. Which One Should i Buy?
The RS Skewb is probably good to start out on. The Weilong and GAN only are noticeably better in more advanced solving conditions. However I do recommend setting up the RS Skewb for the best performance. Hope this helps!

I avarage 10 seconds and I have wingy v2 but the moyu weilong maglev is on 60% discount. Should I buy it or stay with wingy?
I would say stick with the wingy, if you do not experience pops or issues with stability the Wingy is fine, however if your Wingy does have issues I do recommended the Weilong.

Hey, i own the weilong skwb, but i really cant get the centercaps off. How would i be able to take them off to adjust the tensions?
its adjusted not on center cups but on corners

I would say between the 2 go with the GAN Skewb just because of the Wingy’s popping issue. Just know it won’t be nearly as stable or controllible as the Enhanced. But if it is in stock get the Weilong Skewb or GAN Enhanced for the best experience overall

No, the Maglev makes the cube much more unstable

If you switch out the maglev by springs, the catching issue will be gone
It may, but the catching only happens every so often, and I think the speed the maglev gives the cube is what the skewb needs.

Neither tbh. I would say get the RS if you are on a budget or get the Weilong or GAN Enhanced if you want a flagship experience
Which skewb would you recommend for someone who don't know his preference
If you are experienced with skewb and average around sub 10 the Gan or MoYu maglev are great options. Both offer customizations and offer different feels that are both satisfying for the event. If you are on a budget, get the RS. The Wingy v2 I would not recommend. However, if you are not into the event, an older magnetic skewb would be just fine.

If it’s between those cubes then the AoYan. However those are older models so I would invest in one of the ones above as they are more modern :)

hey man, you only tested reverse corner cutting.
Yes I did, Reason being is that reverse cuts is the most influential during solves. If you are wondering all the Skewbs corner cut really well. However I didn’t test that as the reverse cuts are more prevalent during execution. Hope this helps!

Gan enhanced vs maglev
Does the frosted plastic make any impacts on solves?
The only cube on this list with significant frosted plastic is the MoYu Skewb, however MoYu’s Frosted Plastic breaks in very quickly compared to others so I would say it offers as good if not better grip than the others. Other than that it doesn’t effect performance

@@MagmaCubing Actually I found that the gan frosted plastic to be very slippery and hard to grip for me on my gan enhanced skewb (I also have a gan enhanced frosted pyraminx but I found it to be very grippy even with same kind of plastic), even harder to grip than my broken in rs maglev. I'm struggling if I should I get a UV Coated GAN Enhanced? Actually I have already ordered a weilong skewb with professional setup last week. How do you think? Are there anything I can do with my GAN enhanced or should I just order a UV Coated GAN Enhanced? Will the weilong suit me?
The Weilong is a fine Skewb and should work well. For the GAN Enhanced breaking in the plastic is the only thing you can do. I have the older batches of the GAN Enhanced which came with glossy plastic. If the Weilong doesn’t suit you for whatever reason, the UV coated is fine if you want a GAN with glossy plastic. However both the GAN Enhanced and Weilong are my picks for the best Skewb.
