    In this video, we analyze the maritime tactics of India. We talk about what India should put their primary focus on.
    Sea denial is a maritime strategy aimed at preventing an adversary from using the sea for their own purposes. It involves denying or disrupting the opponent's ability to control or access maritime areas, denying them freedom of movement, and limiting their operational capabilities. Sea denial strategies are typically employed by weaker naval powers against stronger adversaries.
    Sea dominance, on the other hand, refers to a maritime strategy aimed at establishing and maintaining control over the seas, allowing a nation to project power, protect its interests, and exert influence in the maritime domain. Sea dominance strategies are typically employed by stronger naval powers to secure their maritime interests and deter potential adversaries.
    We talk at length about various related concepts and the shortcomings of the current strategy.

    I never thought about countering AIM and Chavda sir slightest. But as an material engineer and defence nerd for decades I have to disagree on several points. Modern aircraft carriers are very difficult to sink by design. And unlike the US or China, our carriers exists to safeguard two costs plus one for emergency duty. While I agree we should have focused on one class of maritime asset, but downside of that strategy is, if secrets are leaked then all of our assets will be compromised all of a sudden overnight and we will be able do nothing at all. I have so much respect for you guys, still it feels bad to counter you guys.

      Yaa I agree with too much focus on a certain Maritime Assets but telling to put importance on Aircraft carriers is both lack of basic Economics and mobility, Aircraft carriers are the Big Giants that will be the centre of attack each time a Naval attack takes place, they can’t even do basic mobile operations much like Frigates or Corvette or Submarines can do, they will be used to take heavy attacks and that is it, no matter be it Land, Air or Water, since Ancient times Mobility and ability to implement quick attacks matters a LOT

      @garuda3935 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@RohanSharmacap I am not sure if you are trying to counter me or start an argument that will prove nothing. Mobility is not for ACs, unless those are equipped with nuclear reactors. There are only few of them at present. Second, an AC does not operate alone. ACs always operate with a strike group that comes with corvettes, destroyers, submarines and AC's own fighter jets and Early warning system along with SatNav.
      As AIM claimed that Emirati pilots can take out Vikrant, I'd like to point out unless Emiratis are sending 220 planes that is about 5 squadrons of F-16s or a minimum 120, that is 3 squadron, there is a limited chance of doing extensive damage to Vikrant. And Emiratis are going to lose nearly half of their strength. You can check this out yourself. Math checks out here, not the semantics and speculation.
      Finally, no one is asking to focus on ACs. Our focus is so far balanced. Whatever we are producing are safeguarded by other assets. If China is playing Go, then we are playing chess. If China is focusing on numbers, then our focus on denial and counter-attack. We no longer live in an era where having a statistics of number or economical number in your side means you are the clear winner. War is always dynamic. To predict it is tomfoolery. Even if China outnumber us 3 to 1 in maritime assets.

    Aircraft carriers have a point they are not useless. Aircraft carriers are always used along with a number of destroyers and frigates nobody sends them alone. Remember they are assets to be used in war not just tools for diplomatic moves. Considering that and how Aircraft carriers and all the other classes of vessels work in unison. We cannot outrightly reject the need for Aircraft carriers surely they should be the 2nd preference but understand that an Aircraft carrier is never used solely one need to have more destroyers to protect the AC and simultaneously attack the enemy. The problem is we don't have enough destroyers and frigates that could offer us to work with Aircraft carriers.
    Coming on to requirements that the Army gives well it's based on the Indian conditions. The example where the abhijit Iyer sir compared that to a phone with bigger mechanicals there is always scope for more fabrication to suit ones needs.

      @@Chunchukiran I may have forgotten about mentioning mine sweepers in my comment so sorry for that but I never meant to outrightly reject them I think it just slipped from my mind.
      But you get what I am trying to say ACs are there to work for bigger operations alongwith other class vessels including minesweepers.
      All I am pointing out that the way abhijit Iyer sir is outrightly ousting out the need of aircraft carriers is also wrong.
      And that's because he is seeing even the assets and tools of war as a diplomatic tool ONLY. India is not a country which uses defence assets to pressurize someone, surely we should be ready for that and even for that job more destroyers and frigates and as you said minesweepers and subs are required.
      It is true an Aircraft carrier is the most vulnerable but they always operate alongwith all the other class vessels that makes the navy overall more effective.
      I'll conclude and say that surely we need subs and minesweepers and also more destroyers. On what abhijit Iyer sir said about buying 24 25 ships of a same class I agree on that. Like buying 24 25 subs of one class and then destroyers and frigates and minesweepers etc.

      @@lautheimpaler4686 well I didn't mean to say that.
      What I am saying is that in above excerpt abhijit Iyer sir says that aircraft carriers are not useful.
      But you can't take an asset of navy which exists only to be used by other classes of vessels.
      What I am saying is if you always consider aircraft carriers in isolation they are always vulnerable. But they exist for a reason and that is to be a foundation of a larger fleet alongwith high numbers of destroyers, frigates,corvette and minesweepers as my friend above pointed out.
      Ab CM ko akele consider karoge to wo vulnerable hi h but when he works woth all other ministers and IAS IPS and other bureaucrats no one can stop him na. That is what I am saying

    • @Kiviyt312
      @Kiviyt312 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I don't know about nautical mile calculations but a carrier group(1 carrier, 2 destroyer, 3frigates, 2subs, 1 supply ship) can play area denial in a circle of atleast 600kms radius for atleast 45 continuous days.

      @@debanjanpaul It is correct. He asked for a carrier's endurance and capability. In a carrier battle group the carrier is the most important and covers the most area denial job. Without the carrier, a battle group would be able to cover only 300-400km radius that too without any air cover.

    Ok mr but when its reload time on destroyer fleet you need air support for forward reporting of strategy, submarines cant keep firing brahmos at the bomber or destroyer cant keep full ammo on guns, they need a reload time of 40 minutes or more which will be done manually, the support is provided by the jets on the carrier during which they can reload or vice versa, the destroyers protect each other and the carrier, here what you missed is ac carriers carry food and supplies higher than submarines and medical supplies this can be used if someone on board gets injured, what is currently needed is a catobar carrier which can have awacs systems on it increasing surveillance ability.

    Sea denial is the same strategy China used because it is cheaper in so many regards and also simpler to learn to utilize potential strategies, and instead of expensive aircraft carriers you can use air power from land to back up navy vessels close to land. To extend range of air crafts for support farther out, building and developing sea planes and a long range interceptor/fighter like the J-20 would allow for sufficient coverage in the Indian Ocean.
