Since you have been to several places (main destinations) for tourists, I'd rather recommend you to explore the northeastern part of Thailand such as Khon Kaen, Udon and Nongkhai then go across the Mekong River to also visit Laos. Enjoy Thai food and have a pleasant stay wherever you choose to visit.
So looking forward to this next Paddy in Thailand instalment, since I enjoyed watching all the episodes so much from the last time you were in Thailand on your channel. Can't wait!

I can highly recommend Kanchanaburi, there are both some very good wildlife sanctuaries as well as some cultural and historical places to see and the nature there is breathtakingly beautiful. If you share the Thai fondness of waterfalls, there are many to be seen.
And if you drive a motorcycle, there are some of the best motorcycle roads in Thailand as well.
i was there in April/May, and June/July. I plan on hitting Kanchanaburi next trip, but fr. Bangkok. I'm moving to Thailand by late September

Im a big fan of Kanchanburi area. I usually go there for the elephant sanctuaries and the Talad Rotfai. The countryside is just great. Looking forward to this series of videos.

its a simple process of elimination on where to settle long term in Thailand. i am a relatively young retiree so... For me i needed easy access to international airport / not a big city / easy access to good healthcare / safe / not super touristy. then the things that make my hobbies easy = cycling and mountain biking / tennis / road and trail running / swimming and beach. then a wide range of 50thb lunch and dinner options... So i chose Phuket : yep a bit touristy BUT i am in a quiet enough area more towards the north of the island that its easy to ignore them and they tend not to engage in my hobbies so its a fair enough trade off. i dont party or drink booze. my set up works really well for me. we got lots of cool trails to go and get natured on!

I spent a few days in Kanchanaburi a couple of months ago. Some really amazing nature over there. Erawan Falls was shut down due to storm damage so we went to Huay Maekamin waterfall instead. Spectacular place.

I can hear the changes in your voice already when speaking Thai, prolly because as you speak more and more, the soft pallet at the back of throat becomes more developed, and more active in making the glottal sounds happen. Hey Paddy, I hope you are also going to the River Kwai and Hellfire Pass. My next trip I want to stay in the floating hotel/hostels on the river. Twenty years ago a friend of mine would rent about 5-6 barges and have a big floating party. 😮

Go to areas with different dialects or minorities. Go to the middle of nowhere. Go to little villages. Go to the south. Go to Laos too. It's all great!
