Great subject, our first inground garden is only 20'x10' in one of our better spot. My back yard floods easy, a place around the corner was digging up for some new storage units and I had them dump 4 dumps of dirt. Spreading that around, and funny you had this video as I ordered Hemp for a cover crop I plan on planting this fall & I'm signed up for the webinar also.

I had great luck last fall planting oats as a cover crop. It stayed short, but very green, through the winter. Then around February it took off and grew 2’ tall and was so lush. My neighbor disked it up for me and by the time I planted at the end of March I had such good soil tilth. Would definitely use it again.

I use a cover crop mix to get all the benefits. I leave the cover crop on the ground after I terminate it and cover it with leaves, let worms till it in. you can use a broad fork to lift the dirt to allow penetration. If you go ask about turnips to loosen hard soil (sorry dirt). The person who has trouble with flooding in her yard leave grass clippings mow the leaves this will take a while but it will allow the water to go in the soil and not pool on the surface. Compost is why i don't have to water my garden water soaks in the ground. hope I didn't break any rules. GOD bless. keep up the good work you'll get there.
