Absolutely! The resilience and bravery of regular humans in the Warhammer 40K universe are truly inspiring. Despite being surrounded by terrifying foes like Chaos and Xenos, ordinary humans often rise to the occasion and perform incredible feats of heroism. Whether it’s the guardsmen holding the line against overwhelming odds or the civilian leaders making tough decisions, their stories add depth to the grimdark narrative. It’s a reminder that even in a universe filled with superhuman Astartes, the spirit of humanity shines through. What are some of your favorite examples of human bravery in the lore?
The Fire Hawks' disappearance is indeed shrouded in mystery, and many fans speculate that it may not have been an accident. Their fate after entering the Warp raises numerous theories, particularly regarding their potential connection to the Legion of the Damned. Some lore suggests that they may have been absorbed into this ghostly chapter, which adds an intriguing layer to their story. The idea that their disappearance could have been orchestrated or influenced by external forces is compelling, especially considering the chaotic nature of the Warp. This aligns with the broader themes in Warhammer 40K, where the unpredictable and often malevolent forces of the Warp can lead to unexpected outcomes for even the most disciplined of Space Marine chapters. What are your thoughts on the Fire Hawks' fate? Do you lean towards the theory of them becoming part of the Legion of the Damned, or do you think there’s more to their story?
Angron better hope not, else he's broken Gork & Mork's favorite TV show in addition to Ghazkull's favorite playmate. He was gonna have enough trouble with _just_ the "standard" Waagh! that was headed at him.
Absolutely! Yarrick's origin story is indeed incredible and adds so much depth to his character. From his early life on Taos III to becoming a legendary figure during the Second and Third Wars for Armageddon, his journey is filled with bravery and resilience. Learning the Ork language and understanding their mindset gave him a unique edge in battle, allowing him to lead his forces with unmatched determination. His legendary encounters, like the duel with Warboss Ugulhard, really showcase his iron will and tactical genius. What aspects of his story resonate with you the most?
Yarrick is a third ork god now. When an ork finds somebody capable of fighting them to a stalemate, they roar out thanks to York, because they have found their Good Enemy.
Yarrick was one of the few mortal men who I'd actually put money on if we had to bet on who could smackdown an Astartes on their own. I love the idea that Grimaldus basically was sat their fanboying him only to be interrupted by some dumbass that doesn’t realise that if the chapter master of a second founding chapter is deferring to a human maybe just maybe it’s because he deserves it 😂

The orks called him Old Bale Eye for a good reason; even the Space Marines who were with him came to respect that name.
Key words spoken to me by Grimaldus himself: “fuck with yarrick in any way and he’ll put a bolter shell through your head before you get the 4th word out”
Just think. Yarrik made a space marine captain sit down and shut up with just a look.
Dude is more than a mortal man.
Yarrick is that one fuckin dude u do NOT wanna annoy
YARRICK ISNT DEAD
Shut down by the very mortal he was belittling. Ouch.
“Baleful gaze” I see what you did there
"He doesnt have a laser eye, right?"
Is what id imagine hes thinking as that bright red eye shone at his face
He _does_ have a laser eye, had it installed to egg-on the Ork belief that they couldn't beat him. And yeah, it _is_ weapons-grade instead of just a cat toy, why do you ask?
Is that a laser eye, or is it just my imagination?" Yarrick’s intense glare definitely has a way of making anyone second-guess themselves. It’s a testament to his presence on the battlefield! His reputation alone is enough to make even the most hardened warriors think twice. What do you think makes Yarrick such an iconic character in the lore? His battles, his leadership, or just that intimidating glare?

remember the orks warp reality by mass believe, and all orks think old bale eyes is intimidating as fuck. so by ork space magic. yarrick is one of the most intimidating things on two legs. even space marines can be silenced with a glare from old bale eye.
And just as bad, the Black Templar's instincts scream "KINDRED!" any time he's in the room. If he'd been stuck in a wheel chair, they'd probably have strapped him to the top of a Land Raider and given him a voxcaster or something.

Haha, that’s a great point! Yarrick’s focus is legendary-he could very well be lining up a shot instead of just glaring! With that red eye, you know he means business, whether it’s intimidation or precision aiming. It’s part of what makes him such a formidable opponent on the battlefield. Do you have a favorite moment where Yarrick showed off his sharpshooting skills?
Astartes have the excuse of all their superior weapons, armor and enhancements for why they've been able to live for so long.
The reason why Imperial Guardsmen live so long? Stubbornness, cleverness and a massive fuckton of luck.
I can definitely say that if I were a space marine and I met a *veteran* guardsmen, I'd respect the hell out of them.
My favorite bit of lore around Yarrick is the orks belief in him being the deadliest human in existence.
Absolutely! The Orks' belief that Yarrick is the deadliest human is a testament to his legendary status. His reputation as "Old Bale Eye" not only instills fear in his enemies but also reflects the respect he commands on the battlefield. The fact that they think he can kill with a glance adds to his mystique and showcases the psychological warfare he wields against them. Yarrick's cunning and bravery during the wars for Armageddon have truly made him a hero of the Imperium. What’s your favorite story or moment involving Yarrick that highlights this fear and respect from the Orks?
OLD BALE EYE WAZ DA BEZTEZ HUMIE !!!

Doesn't matter if your a mortal or not. Actions speak louder than words.
Listen to the old man😂
I am 100% confidant that yarreck even at his old age would be able to become a space marine. He's that fucking awesome!!!
I just asked that. How come he isn't..?
@@Moe_Lester_fromUptwn He is strong enough as he is. Turning him into a Space Marine would probably tip the scales of power within the chapters too much. He would probably even be a new form of primarch. That is at least what I have read.
@@Moe_Lester_fromUptwn: Realistically, he's probably _too_ indoctrinated into his current position, many to most (depends on the Chapter) Aspirants fail, and even then you'd need a Chapter that's maintained enough of the Great Crusade era practices to actually turn the aged into Space Marines- all this for a man that frankly is most suited to fighting Orks in a current war.
To put it another way: you're at least as likely to kill or otherwise ruin him by trying as you are to succeed.
"But he's just a mere mortal...!"
"There's nothing 'mere' about that 'mortal'."

"U respekt bale eye you git!" - every ork alive searching for angron
Yarrick is de Mr. Bison of Warhammer 40k and can unleash his Psycho Power at any sign of disobedience
When Yarrick does eventually die it will be a massive story of a battle between himself and Ghazghkull that will leave readers speechless, and defiantly not a single page saying he died to someone other than Ghazghkull and that’s it.
In the theater of war, Yarrick is the star celebrity in the lead role.
Damn, imagine if Stephen Lang played Bale-Eye in a live action series.
Regular humans being total badasses will always be my favorite thing in 40k
What are some of your favorite examples of human bravery in the lore?
respect the elder moment
Astaries do not like being commanded by mere mortals. Especially corrupt and weak leaders. There is nothing corrupt, weak, and mere about this mortal.
He isn't just a old man he is THE old man
Yarrick hit him with the Batman glare
Old Bale Eye may have been mortal (sadly), but he's definitely not *simple*.
Honestly the more i hear about the Fire Hawks the more i start to think their dissaperance wasn't an accident
Makes you wonder if it was a three-way race between who would off them: the Orks, their allies, or themselves.
... That last one usually wins.
You know a mortal is worthy of respect when Grimaldus (a black templar) is showing respect.
The dude didn’t get to his unnatural age just by being lucky…
Grimaldus: dont look at me he started it!

Yarrick's origin story is incredible. Worth checking out.
Ghazghkull would be proud.
He was basically the epitome of how terrifying a mere human could become without needing to be completely enhanced or changed. All his prosthesis/additions were literally just replacements. Excluding his balls, those were just naturally made of steel.
the unspoken rule of 40k: the more you shut up the easier life gets,
Amaras was a member of the Angels of Fire, not the Fire Hawks.
I love the idea that Grimaldus basically was sat their fanboying him only to be interrupted by some dumbass that doesn’t realise that if the chapter master of a second founding chapter is deferring to a human maybe just maybe it’s because he deserves it 😂

I think that voicing some concerns and disagreements in a professional manner is valid, especially as you can smooth out and misunderstandings or issues. But attacking someone personally is rarely going to end well.
Yarric is the Green Scourge, after wiping out about 3k orcs by himself loosing his arm, getting captured getting help from an orc to escape, getting a power claw continuing the slaughter.
