the part you use the socket for, is it possible to detach it to put on a new grille? and same with the mercedes logo?

Mine has a chrome panel that is on the hood ( like the top of the grill so to speak ) . Does that come off ?

Yes, its very easy, you need to remove grill from car and from inside is 3 holders , you need to unhook them and thats it :) good luck
