Hey Patrick! Yea probably a good idea… I don’t think these variants will ever drop to the price of the original AA but at least the original is as cheap as it is. Cheers my friend!
“Real life” 😆 Been busy here as well in real life. A bit of time to fish here and there! Nice video! Other than milking the aurora like a Fast and Furious movie. It “looks” like they are improving by each of the new one they come out. Perhaps they are not. Haha
Hey bedok! Haha yea “reel” life got in the way of reel reviews lol. I do hope they chill out with these Aurora air variants and concentrate on making a new reel that has better QC and feels a bit more premium. I would greatly appreciate that from them. Cheers my friend!
Thanks for sharing, I agree the price to quality on the reels doesn't seem to be there for me either. I have a couple Histar rods that I am pleased with for the price and they perform well with no quality issues but they are certainly not the first ones I reach for when going fishing. They certainly get the job done, well in fact, but aren't as refined as a lot of other rods in my arsenal that have a higher price tag.
@@abelabner hey Abel! Spot on! Yea your dollar goes farther with other reels on the market but their “best” option is the original Aurora air at around $35usd. It’s really puzzling as to why they keep bringing out “new” versions of the reel when the original still casts the best… As for their rods, they have somewhat of a cheap appearance to them for a bit higher of a price than I would really like to pay. For example, the Solomon II rod I have had a split grip on a 4’6” rod which is extremely odd… the cork is cheap and the guides are a bit large and not Fuji oddly. I would not choose to use this rod during my outings and definitely pick others. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and cheers my friend’
Hey Dan! Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to try the Giu99 black. The Giu99 silver that I have is definitely a finnicky casting reel imho and so I would imagine that the black version is as well. Hope that helps and cheers my friend!
I did an unboxing on the black GIU. Have used it, only issue is a tight drag star otherwise great casting and braking and passable smoothness@@danspanos
@yep.fishing hey Jacob! The casting seems different to this AirCF maybe. I did try casting the 0.53g worm and it’s been very finnicky and about 3-4ft shorter distances than the original Aurora air oddly… cheers my friend!
Hey Pete! Mamène! Totally agree with your video(excepted the beginning), and till Hasida doesn't make the choice to improve overall build quality and QC over commercial bullshit upgraded, I won't buy another of their Aurora Air Series. When I see the Micro Monster Pro for 50€, I think it sets a new value for money goal. I'll finish by saying that I do not agree on real life blabla, we all know that reel life >>> real life :p Cheers mate 0n0 !
Hey Maurice! Haha yea I think this is going to be it for me and the aurora air. I was interested in the contix frame material and to see if the SiC bearings were going to make a difference but seeing that the handle/knobs are still the same poor quality I wasn’t very thrilled. I will say that the line lay has been fixed on mine which is great to see. I’ll put the reel through its paces and report back but I am not expecting a lot. Regarding the MM pro the current price is very good I’d say but it’s hard to compare that reel to this as it is a 100 sized bfs reel. Very good components though with a slight hint of geariness in the retrieve. I also need to try out the double dynamic brakes as I wonder if they might be too strong? Not sure… ah well back to reel life =). Cheers my friend!
Hey Lee! Totally! I do this for fun, it’s a bit of a passion project and I do it to help people =). I don’t think I could ever give up my job to become a full time TH-camr that sounds silly to me lol. Thanks for the support and cheers my friend!!!
@@jimonisjimi hey jimon! Thanks for sharing that! I did just take a look and sadly it doesn’t look like a bfs reel at all. The spool is quite deep. Hey 69camaro! Hm if money was no object I would definitely not recommend these. I would ask what lure weights you are looking to cast and what type of fish species you are chasing. Based of those responses I would make a suggestion =). Let me know what you’re looking for and I would be more than happy to make a suggestion/s. Cheers my friend!
Hey 69camaro! Here’s a few suggestions starting low in the price range and moving up; Purelure/DMK Silver Feather Air, PL Silver Feather Elite, PL Silver Feather EXA, Daiwa Alphas Silver Creek Air, FF01 Cormorant, Daiwa SS Air TW, Shimano Conquest BFS. I’m probably missing a few here and there but these are what I’d generally suggest if price is not a concern. I didn’t mention the Aldebaran because I feel like it’s a very finnicky casting reel and not convenient to use. Let me know if you have specific questions about the reels! Cheers my friend!
Корпус отличный . но я всё равно рекомендую Aurora Air . нет никакого смысла переплачивать . вы можете добавить 2 шайбы в катушку , заменить подшипники , и это всё равно будет дешевле почти в 2 раза .
@@toongoos87 hey toong! I completely agree with you. I can’t really recommend any of the aurora air variants like the giu99 and this AirCF. The original has the best value for money and imho performance. Cheers my friend!
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL Good day my friend. The first version of Aurora is the most worthy. I just bought a 15g wobbler. I'm going to check if it can cast something heavier. I mainly use 3-7g. Spinning rod is strict, 5-25g, 1.8m long.
@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL could you measure the exact dimensions of the knob bushings, because I don't have a caliper. I want to order additional bearings for the worm gear and knobs.
Have 150m p0.6 on the "normal" aurora air and it has space for more 🤷♂️ yeah you dont need so much but i dont throw 1-3g and over 3g its not much difference in MY for MY opinion
Hey Soren! Odd… I put about 70m of Sunline Almoght 0.6goh PE on the AirCF last night and it started looking full. Maybe the normal AA has a bit deeper of a spool but I can’t see how this one can hold 200m of 0.6goh as they claim. In any case, as you said, there’s no point to have that much line on these reels as they are meant for bfs anyways. 200m is way overkill as is anything over 100m really. At that point, you’re just adding weight and making the effective spool diameter much larger. Anywho, thanks for sharing and cheers my friend!
@@toongoos87 hey toon! Thanks so much for sharing that information! Yea most of these reels can handle higher weights but I wonder how much drag the aurora air reels actually have… it feels quite weak tbh… anywho, cheers my friend!
The most unnecessary thing you can do is put bearings in the knobs. It doesn't help at all, it's actually more annoying when the knobs keep turning when you let go of them... of course not turning them at all is crap, but ball bearings are absolutely unnecessary, bushings are completely sufficient.
Hey Soren! I think this is more of a subjective choice. Also, many reels including jdm ones come with bearings in the handle knobs nowadays. Personally, I prefer bearings as bushings tend to get “stuck” when tightened or are too loose and have tons of slop and make your reel feel like it’s going to fall apart. A nicely shimmed bearing knob is a great thing to handle in my personal opinion =). Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and cheers my friend!
@ hey up! Right on! I just find that extra slop in handle knobs makes a reel feel like it’s going to fall apart during a retrieve. I know that it won’t but that’s just the sensation I get haha. Purely a subjective choice =). Cheers my friend!
