It’s all respected behavioral patterns and habits as you grow up. These chemical processes are just a result of conditioning the nervous system with behavior patterns learned in the environment one lives in. Kinda like addiction to certain movies of naked people…if you measure a certain protein, they will have a decrease or increase accordingly.

A good balance of lipids such as omega 3 (found in fish, nuts, and seeds) fats can help when added to your diet. I think the protein mentioned may also be known as Neurogranin. It sounds as though Neurogranin is supported by a healthy amount of antioxidants and caretenoids.
So - You may want to try going pescatarian and adding in a lot of greens, carrots, blueberries, avocados, and oranges.
Other than that, they do have supplements with omega 3s and caretenoids, etc. Just be careful to only take the recommended dosage, and get regular blood work to monitor your vitamin A levels as it is possible to take too much of it -- yet, it's is also bad if you do not get enough.

Research and development can take years - 10, 15. Some illnesses have been in research and development for decades. After you've got a formula you have to do studies with people, having done animal studies during R&D. Once you have all that you have to get approval from the FDA. Only then can you get a medical patent and start production. This kind of stuff doesn't happen overnight. I hope you see this.

After my experience with shrooms five years ago every bottle of alcohol I picked up tasted like literal poison. I would take one taste put out the alcohol. I haven't drink since, no more depressive mood and ptsd. Few doses of shroom experience made a 15 year 4 bottles a day drinker quit instantly. Shrooms are life changing. It has taken me years to finally find out about the protein and the connection to gut health, nutrients especially the Vitamin B's needed for the proper brain chemical transmissions. On a somewhat related note- it's possible the protein just can't be restored. I have a connective tissue disorder that effects every kind of tissue in the body, including the nervous system. I just can't make collagen properly, I lack some segments in a gene that guides the collagen creation process. I was diagnosed with bipolar type 2 almost 10 years ago and only recently found out about this connective tissue disorder (hEDS) and that it is also often comorbid with bipolar and autism. There's no pill that is going to be able to tell my brain/nerves to make a protein since my genes don't have the blueprints to do it, at least in my case! Since bipolar often runs in families, I figure it's got to have a genetic component (not saying hEDS causes bipolar or vice versa, just that they may be related via some connective tissue/some sort of protein deficiency). Not to be a downer or anything, just throwing in my 2 cents. I agree about the bandaid thing though, it's sad that that's all the medical system wants to do is keep pumping us full of expensive pharmaceuticals instead of seeking other therapies :/

@@mmiguy1122 That is very unfortunate. I had a doc who thought anybody could get off of any drug in a week's time!! I have known people who have died from withdrawals from psych drugs. I think it's important to slowly wean off some of these meds. I don't know how some doctors get away with the stuff they do when "treating" the mentally ill. Meds can make bipolar worse, been there. Misdiagnosis too is a huge problem. Get thoroughly tested and evaluated (this goes out to anyone prescribed psych. meds) before taking meds. I had a doctor tell me once that I had to take a certain pill in order for me to get better, that's B.S. you don't have to buy anything they are selling. They get pressured to buy a lot of bad drugs by big Pharma. Doctors get perks for prescribing drugs. 60 Minutes did a great story on how doctors are literally wined and dined by reps from big Pharma. These companies often hire attractive people to sell their wares, and they can sway a doc's opinion on trying a drug with their looks and charm. Some of these sales reps are literally psychopathic, ( i am not kidding or exagerating either. Look up info on the most expensive hotel room in Las vegas and you'll find out about what is ironically called the "Empathy Room"(as psychopaths feel no empathy) where these rich reps like to go for some R and R , it's just sad and scary) they don't care about the people taking these drugs, what they can do to them. They just care about making money. Sorry for the lengthy comment, I'm just very passionate about the topic and can't say what i want to say in a sentence or two. Thanks if you took time out to read this.

It is so ironic to see the most brilliant minds overlooking the simple root cause. The human psyche does it's best to survive in day to day situations and when things get rough, it does it's best by choosing it's own type of survival tactics and coping skills. Let me preface this by stating... I for SURE possess my own particular spectrum of unresolved emotional issues and have acquired my own specific personal dysfunctional profile. We all have, just as our parents did and theirs as well. It's when we just don't possess the multi facetted toolbox needed to deal with life's most profound circumstances, our wounded child inside develops it's own set of survival skills and coping mechanisms which are just not all that effective. What if Bipolar was a choice made by ones wounded child (subconscious mind) as a form of coping mechanism? It is normal and can be expected for all of us to experience the full diverse spectrum of emotions that are felt during our lifetime from the many curve balls life throws us no matter how challenging. But when we are incapable of exercising an appropriate and healthy emotional response due to the lack of a healthy upbringing, our psyche just does not have the ability to emote adequately. In other words....to acquire a strong and capable on-going mental state of mind-therefor healthy brain, we need to have had the opportunity to learn the proper skills needed from our parents in our first 5 to 7 years of development. Trauma occurs when we are incapable of properly emoting completely through the traumatic experience, therefor not capable to protect ourselves (our psyche) from that experience. THERFORE, the mind directly impacts the brain in such detrimental ways. I.e. bipolar disorder and the protein motioned here in this clip. We are constantly reminded of the many emotional "Brain Chemicals" there are i.e. Dopamine, Serotonin, Adrenaline, Epinephrine, Norepinephrine, Glutamate, Gabba etc. but these are seldom ever discussed in the following paradigm. Thoughts are created in the conscious mind. Our conscious awareness recognizes traumatic experiences as they unfold which in turn provoke an emotional response in our subconscious mind. Subsequently the mind effects the brain composition and these emotional "Brain Chemicals" are produced. If our subconscious mind is not prepared to "deal" with the trauma adequately, the emotional response will not be successfully dealt with on an emotional level and long term trauma is then downloaded. We are designed to experience trauma in a way that provokes an appropriate emotional response subsequently producing the gamut of appropriate emotional "Brain Chemicals" until the experience is complete without downloaded trauma, providing we downloaded the skills to do so in the first place. Unfortunately, we are all at one level or another, ill prepared to handle every possible curve ball that life throws us do to our inadequate 5 to 7 year download. Not having the tools and understanding on a subconscious emotional level will inevitably produce on going trauma and create on going unresolved emotional issues. Insufficient and inappropriate emotional "Brain Chemicals" are ultimately due to an unhealthy childhood download. To make a long story stop...taking drugs or supplements that effect emotional "Brain Chemicals" can be somewhat beneficial band aids from time to time, but the psyche (subconscious mind) runs the show, and does so in such a profound and dominating way, the only absolute cure is to heal the child.

A brain is an organ it loves to collect cycles if it’s cycle is positive thoughts it will look for things in its cycle like a check list, if it’s running on other thoughts it will look for things that are linked to them thoughts like a check list using the eyes to help the thoughts and the brain just keeps repeating the pattern it’s programmed it’s self and sitting with mental health teams constantly talking about the past then when they cover that they talk about the last 6 months it’s never talk about moving forward, it can take up to a year to train your brain to program a better cycle but you have to constantly pump your brain with the new cycle like you would for a test, study for the new cycle and start working out your body to so you trigger the mind and body to sink with the change your pushing your body and mind to do work out listening to things that you want the new cycle to be and get determined and stubborn and fight your body till the new cycle kicks in and the old things your brain would do it won’t do no more, I do think meds are ok for short periods at the beginning but taking them forever just keeps your brain in that loop cycle and you can get away from that loop and free ur your brain and body but it’s not done over night but is can be done ❤️

the tv report is well structured: key summary opening (who did what with what potential solution) - event and cause - approach - evidence = explanation - further steps, methods with potential results. “Eventually” creates impression the milestones are easy to reach and there might be no barriers and only one cause for one happening, one road to goal. Cause -> action. But one solution can create multiple consequences unknown at the beginning. That is what is time consuming to understand and differentiate the interactions until there is a drug to get prescribed by a doctor. Tv report better would have formulate “findings need to be evaluated in a long time study over x years”. Perhaps the PhD candidate and professor told the interviewer, but those statements did not make it through the production cut and review for tv air time allocated.
I can understand the frustration when vaccines for pandemic were possible to pass evaluation phase much more quickly in global focused effort with higher number of study participants. With almost daily news. I recommend to look for YT videos explaining the process for medical treatments making to the market. (How does the FDA approve new drugs? for example). The purpose of current medications is to shut us down so we don't "act bipolar". Bipolar symptoms are a nuisance to society, a chemical lobotomy ends our nuisance behavior. But it does not make us normal, productive, or anything that we were before our symptoms took over our lives. I have stopped looking for solutions, embraced that my Creator made me bipolar, & that is exactly what I should be by design. I live a life that acknowledges I will always be bipolar, it isn't wrong or immoral to have bipolar symptoms, & the only work I can do is work that accommodates a fully bipolar person. There is zero room in my life for people who want me to "stop being bipolar", including psychiatrists. We can live productive lives, but not on medication that kills your soul in order to dial you down to a level that society finds acceptable. Self employment or passive income is the only way, society will never accept us as we are in the workplace. Imagine trying to find a cure for red hair because you find red hair repulsive. You can dye their hair, but they will always be red heads. We will always be bipolar, & that's not wrong & something to be extinguished for the convenience of others. The Cure for bipolar is "just snap out of it" or "don't be mentally ill, that's what I would do" as we have been told all our lives. This is who we are, we pay the price of being ostracized by society, & if we could snap out of it, we never would have seen a psychiatrist or lost all our lovers, jobs, family, & friends. I finished trying to be "not bipolar" & life instantly became better. I don't need a psychiatrist, & the Hate people give mentally ill people is still present but does not motivate me to try be something I am not. We can live fully bipolar lives with all the wretched symptoms & still be a human being of contributing value.

@@Zoo-Wee-Mama-Sq I have hope that will figure it all out eventually. I'm positive that this is genetic, I just hope there doesn't come a day when scientist decide to take out the gene for mental illness completely, Yes an end to mental illness would be great, but mental illness can actually come with some good traits, example many mentally people are very bright and creative, the two things seem to often go hand in hand. Same for such conditions such as Down's syndrome, I don't know if we want to weed all these "undesirables" out (as society often views people with mental disorders). Yes, it's sad that kids are born with it, but they are some of the most loving, sweet gentle people. I'm not religious exactly but I do feel like they are a blessing to have among us. I'm more interested myself in controlling these disorders than eliminating the illness entirely. If all the mentally ill people just disappeared from the earth, I 'm not sure it would be a better place to live. I think what you said is most likely true, sad but rue but we should never just throw up our hands and say , oh well there's nothing we can do, let's just give up on these people , they are just a drain on society anyway, yet we don't say that about say cancer (and often mentally are viewed as lazy when most want to be productive members of society. Lots end up homeless on the streets because they can't work (stigma there too. Just because you don't work, it doesn't affect the worth of the person) . Keep in mind that eugenics has been a reality before and it can be again. The first people to die in the concentration camps in Poland were the mentally ill, not because they were considered inferior, but because people just didn't give a damn if they lived or died. Sorry for going on and on, I hope others will see my reply too. I don't think you meant anything disparaging in the comment, not at all, just want people to know there's hope, there is a solution coming, we should tell politicians to support funding for all brain research, people are dying, smart people are desperately needed in the field of psychology as well. There are a lot of therapists who frankly suck and are burnt out or just in it for the money. Kind caring , compassionate people are needed to help people with these kinds of problems. Unfortunately they are hard to find, but they are out there.

You found out about a key problem in bipolar cell proteins, but due to the antiquated proving methods of the research industry, it still gets demonstrtated through cruel torment inflicted onto utterly powerless animals. Watching diet can help, but not as effective as meds. I research the topic and have found that eating a lot of foods (example eggs) can help my condition, if anything giving me a little boost in energy, bipolar can sap one's energy as can depression . My brother suffered from bipolar (misdiagnosed with depression, some depression meds can exacerbate bipolar symptoms). He , like I tried everything, including diet and even experimental ketamine injections (in a clinical setting) and he still succumbed to the depression aspect of the disease and commited suicide about 2 years ago. People who either don't have the disease or have a loved one with it will never really understand it, and people don't realize that we know barely anything about how the brain works (we know more about outer space than we do about the human brain/mind) and yet we throw meds at the problem like we have it all figured out. Other folks, what really helps the most is learning to be your own and best advocate, speak up , tell your doctor or a therapist what works and what doesn't, if you have unresolved trauma from the past, I think it's best to tackle that in therapy too. And i realize how hard it is to find good doctor/therapist, many live in the dark ages and don't know about discoveries like this one in the video. And don't be embarrassed about your illness, it still caries a heavy stigma but don't worry about that. You can't be blamed for having a misunderstood disease that effects your mood and thinking. It's usually genetic.

I became totally attracted to a woman who became my wife and realized after the fact she was BP. We are now seniors and still together and our life has been quite the ride. I think the mutual BP was part of our source of attraction to each other although I still think she was crazier than I am. Low level BP is manageable but you can definitely get yourself in trouble if you don’t have a good internal compass to redirect your manic induced impulsive urges.

When thoughts are not expressed and gets accumulated in the mind creates intense emotions(usually Anger, Fear, Sadness), if these emotions are released either, it collapses the entire nervous system. That's the reason for most of these mental illness like Bipolar, Autism, ADHD, etc.

Do you have any references showing that to be true?
My personal experience is of living in a family with five generations of bipolar disorder. My great-great-uncle successfully committed suicide, then my grandmother, my mother, myself, my son, my sister's son all had different manifestations of it. In every case except the great great uncle, the family gathered around the affected person and gave them fabulous support, resulting in gradual improvement and then fully productive and happy adult lives, if with some ups and downs. There was no abuse in the family that I knew of, certainly not with my mother, nephew myself, or my son. I realized that this is anecdotal but I have followed scientific research on this over the years and have never seen a study showing a causal link between abuse and bipolar.

That’s not true, everything that’s said to be caused by the lack of the protein is hereditary. Bipolar is THE #1 most hereditarily passed-down mental illness there is. You are claiming autism is caused by abuse? 😊

@@lokipokey you don't need an abusive family to live in this abusive world. the people in charge are abusers, as evidenced by all of history.
Bipolar is a lot like cptsd. I'm pretty sure they're related, and not just in symptoms.

I have learned that, bi-polar is not manic depression. Most bi-polars only have hypo mania instead of hyper mania. Try being awake for five days. I have never seen that in someone diagnosed with, bi-polar. Just in manic depressives as myself.

It is one of the best meds for bipolar with the least side effects. Although there is a chance to get a rash which is a serious sign and he should watch for it. And if rash appears he better call his doctor.

I stopped taking it. I took 150 mgs to 200mgs for some years as a teenager. I don’t take any medication and advise people against it. I still get manic and depressed but I don’t hurt myself or anyone and haven’t tried to in years. I think the medication made me worse personally because I was very young. If you’re scared, please go somewhere safe and let his psych or a family friend know your concerns. Maybe try a couples therapy where you de stress together . Don’t feel compelled to stay out of fear. Please keep yourself safe hon🫶🏼💙As someone who is bipolar I know we’re intense, scary sometimes. His mind doesn’t grasp emotions as normal people do. I myself am aware that I feel emotions a lot more intensely than most . Our minds go so fast we sometimes can’t process that we’re in reality. Please be safe 🫶🏼💙🙏🏼
