I had screwed on the actual diesel tank (plastic) with self tappers to the tank cover and I just need to grind off the bits sticking out. Don't have a bit for it, so might just get a hacksaw to save carrying a grinder.
Thanks for the episode. 👍🏻 Wishing you both all the best for the next leg. You seemed a little deflated this week, hopefully some subscriber love will help cheer yas up ❤❤❤
Brilliant idea, I'll have a look if I can get 2 on each end where contact with the boat is made. Or a long enough one. the boat sits pretty wide over the rack, at the time it was the widest rack they had available. always looking to make this set up easier. Thank you for the comment
Might want to double check the lithium battery install. My understanding of new installs or upgrades is that if the battery is installed in a habital area (being the inside of the van) it must comply with the new regulations. This being that the battery must be in a sealed box vented to the outside of the van. There is regulations on what size the vent must be, there is also regulations on how the battery and solar panels are fused. Not trying to be a dick, just trying to give you the heads up so there no way your insurance company can refuse a claim should you need to make one.
Thanks Wayne. I did mention all this to the caravan joint which installed it. Being a reputable company, you’d think they would comply with regulations. But they reassured me it will be alright. As a reputable company , I took their word. So I’m actually pretty disappointed in that. I’ll need to rethink the set up. Maybe give them a call, see what they recommend. Thanks for the comment mate, I’d much rather be safe than sorry.
@360-Explorers maybe call your insurer first and ask the question. I honestly don't understand why a lithium battery requires a sealed vent box/compartment when they don't emit gas. But some pen pusher has made the new regulations that unfortunately need to be complied with, or it could end costing us a lot of money if an insurance claim is refused.
@@360-Explorers Manufacturers installing lithium batteries to caravans built after November 18 2023 will need to comply to this new standard. Caravans built or modified prior to November 18 do not need to comply to this new standard as the standard is not enforceable retrospectively.
@@dotwillcoxson5352 oh okay, well the caravan being 2014 might be okay. I might look into sealing it up anyway with some ventilation to the outside. Still have to get in touch with my insurer to double check it all.
Hey Jody, thanks for the comments, they’re awesome vans. We’re using one which sits in carefree awning and it was from Amazon. It’s slips through the awning and you just tie it down. amzn.asia/d/dfMXO9S That’s the link for the one we have. Also, for the side one, Bunnings has some and they work alright. Hope this helps
Why are there screws hanging out the side of the diesel heater tank cover? @15:30

I would sleve that fuel line for the heater, help protect it from stones, even if it is the sleve you get from supercheap for electrial cables.
Yes that’s a great idea. Thanks mate. Appreciate the comment

Thank you we really appreciate this.
You can tell Melbourne was a little overwhelming after 9 months. But you’re a legend for the comment. ❤️
Grab some rhino rack alloy rollers. Much easier getting boat up

Lock your stuff up in that caravan park 😮
😂 didn’t leave more than a chair outside. But for the value, I actually didn’t have any issues. Stayed a week.
His and hers USB 😅
Thanks for the assist mate. They’re working a treat
