    • @drosendahl
      @drosendahl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      While it was a good tank when it was created, you really need a turret today since modern tanks are firing on the move. It was the introduction of gyro stabilized cannons that made this tank obsolete not matter of upgrades.

    • @Zimonov
      @Zimonov 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@drosendahl Who knows, maybe one day the suspension could be stabilized and the gun could have more sideways wiggleroom with a horizontal stabilizer with the two systems working in tandem ;)
      it's totally a space tech idea as of currently, but who knows, if that day came, the shape of the tank shape and model would be very apt for radar/surveilance cloaking combined with therm-camo.

    uh, i'd never have thought that the floor hatches would have been used for escaping when the tank was under fire, only if tipped over; i guess it'd make more sense than to try your luck going over the top
    the ideal would be a hatch in the rear face of the hull/turret like the rear door on the French WWI-interwar turrets or loaders hatch on the German big cats

    The irony is that the worst part of this little exercise was probably getting the dropped hatch back on, since one has climb under the tank, pick up the rather dense piece of steel while lying on their back or stomach, then hold hold the thing up against gravity while carefully aligning the bits!
