This is a huge concert from 2012 that took place in Poland.
The song talks about the 7th German Panzer Division nicknamed 'Ghost Division', invaded Belgium and France in 1940.

All Sabaton performances are so emotional. It's overwhelming. The fans are really into it.

One small thing, they do NOT have a research team that gives them information. Joakim and Pär are history nerds, so they watch documentaries and reads books about things they find interesting. Then they write a song about it and when the song is finished they have an historian who facts checks the song basically. Hope more sabaton is coming :) (Btw the Sabaton history channel is amazing)

The Sabaton History channel often has a documentary to accompany the songs:
      th-cam.com/video/uGd1h6pchzM/w-d-xo.html
This is the history video for this song.
BTW this is a Polish crowd responding to a song about a 2nd world war German division
which given the 20th century history between Germany and Poland.
The songs about Polish resistance to Nazi aggression got the biggest responses
especially when they unfurled a giant Polish flag over the crowd:

Sabaton have a loooong list of history based music.
Sabaton also has an award winning history channel that gives background to over 100 if their songs (not music award, academic, aimed at education of the public) .
Sabaton videos are often have dedictions and/or messages at the end, perhaps not always but, watching to the very end is frequently well worth it.
Animated STORY videos (short history lessons with music videos in them)
    No bullets fly
    Night witches
    Lady of the dark
    Red baron
    first soldier
    epic videos.
Bismark, about the sinking of the ship
    Defence of Moscow, self explained.
Christmas truce, about the spontaneous truce in some parts of the western front during Christmas 1914
40:1, about polish soldiers, badly outnumbered (just under 750 in all) facing 42 000 germans, they where BADLY outgunned desperately defending against the German invasion 1939 (with odds actually close to 55:1 they held for 3 DAYS when ammunition and supplies ran out.
Uprising, the Warsaw Uprising against the nazi germans during 1944.
To hell and back, they tell the story of Audie Murphy (highly decorated) and his struggle AFTER the war, so about PTSD and drug addiction that returning soldiers can face.
Fields of verdun, the 300+ day long battle fought there.
Price of a mile, about the battle of Passchendaele
Screaming Eagles, about the battle of the bulge
    Live performances
    40:1 from poland
    Uprising from poland
En livstid I krig live from Göteborg Sweden (in Swedish but there are subtitles) , very heavy again, about thoughts of a young man going to war.
these are just some, there are plenty more.

Excellent reaction. Welcome to Sabaton live; incredible energy, awesome crowd interaction and engagement, fantastic production. And they maintain this level through the entire set regardless of the venue size. This was at the Polish Woodstock festival with 550,000+ in attendance and I saw them in Nashville (seating capacity 2400) in Oct 2022 (Epica was the opening act) and it was the best concert I have ever been to. Great crowd engagement and interaction through the whole show. The European metal scene has lots of very large festivals, all well attended. Hopefully you will continue your Sabaton journey.

I hope you listen to even more of their songs. They pay tribute to the warriors, but not to the politics. They've honored Audie Murphey, Sgt York, Red Baron, winged Hussars, and so many more, including ships. All of their songs are so strong, including Lemmy's 1916. If you dive into their lists, I highly recommend watching 1916 plus the Christmas Truce. Utmost respect! There's also a series called Sabaton History where they highlight & discuss a song per episode, so that we can learn more about the history they're singing about. Thank you for reacting to this one, which is one of my favorites. Night Witches is my top fave. Crazy arse warriors!

Very nice reaction! I liked your discussion about symbols, and what they might mean to people. As far as what the crowd is saying, I think they are repeating "Ghost Division." When you want something to read with your coffee/tea, look at the Sabatin History Channel about Rommel's Ghost Division, invading France before anyone knew what was happening. Ghost Division - Rommel's 7th Panzer Division - Sabaton History 073 [Official] . The posts have lots of satirical dialogue imagined between Rommel, and the disapproval not only from France, but surprisingly from Germany, who had ordered Rommel NOT to cross the Maginot Line.

Erwin Rommel was pretty awesome. He was career military and had served in WWI. From what I've heard, he didn't bother himself with politics until he was convinced that Hitler was bad for Germany, which got himself executed. Unfortunately for the Wehrmacht, he also didn't bother with logistics.
