First of all I would told that officer this isn't a pit stop for your arms to be chilling on my car door like that .. show some respect

It’s a traffic infraction and really the officer wants to get their face there so they can find drunk or intoxicated drivers. People without a drivers license or insurance. They can’t stop you for nothing and ask for ID. A good investing officer can find real issues with a simple stop to talk pull over. Police being proactive isn’t that what we want ? I will say I live in a state where M is legal. I drive with a bag full of gummies once a month in my vehicle and no officer can say a thing it can sit right on the seat next to me. States have found it is far more profitable in letting the m smokers out of jail and not have to pay to house, feed and secure them . Instead the state gets taxes paid by these same people. You take it and drive no no no. Still a state can lose money and pay out or make money off a simple tax and not have police spend time on arrests for weed.

The proper procedure is to call a supervisor and then another department will take over this traffic stop. Most likely county sheriff.
