I call it the F’n “safe place”, because sometimes I can not find that f’n place again.😁 Love the tip to take a photo of the “safe place” so you can find it again. I’ll try that. Thanks
Happens to me all the time!😂 At times I will tell myself, out loud, you are putting this here. Don't forget. It is actually helpful! When I remember to do it!😂
"When you have your own land, you can do what you want". Oh, man, I loved hearing that! So good, Linnea! "Your breath smells like poop" in the sweetest voice. Had me laughing out loud. You are amazing. Thank you for taking us along on the ride of figuring out how to irrigate your garden. I just love your resourcefulness.
I would put the hay over the lines, to keep the sun off the pipes, don't want the heat from the sun on them and the water comes out hot on your plants. Don't ask how I know lol Also water in the morning or late afternoon. Keep going young lady, your doing great!!
I was going to mention the same thing. I don't deal with the same heat but I set my timer to go very early in the morning when any water in the lines should be the coolest.
Pool experience here put gaskets in a zip lock and tape to equipment. Never gets lost or lives in safe places never to be found again. Lol. 😂 been here!!
I adore your energy, your projects, your property, your pets... and this very awesome channel you've created for yourself. It's an honor to be apart of your learning process, and it also helps me feel grateful for my 5 years spent in Northern New Mexico living in an earthship. Your beautiful wide open sky shots is enough to keep me coming back and supporting your work. Stay strong and safe travels darling. You are a breath of fresh air to take in. Blessings from a humble forest off grid homestead, in NE Washington.
Watching you learn to do things as you do is so inspiring to me. I'm 63 years old and I live alone. You have really given me some courage to take on projects that seem over my head. I cannot list the things I have taken on, inspired by your failures and successes. Way to go!
10:52 Spot on. More distance = more moving parts. More chance of something going wrong, more maintenance. Really do what works for you. I totally agree. We have a book of suggestions for what we "should" do on our land. Qrite down your suggestion, then you have to sign it and give us a date for when you will come help us do it!!!!😂😂
You are a true inspiration. I think you did a great job with the garden seeing it was your first try. I also love how Akela has shown Kobuk how to be more affectionate. You make Sundays better. I hope Chris is doing well also.
Very nice, I would add a programmable timer to the pump, if the garden hose gets a leak or explodes the pump will come on, the pump should come on just before the irrigation timer comes on, and turn off just before the irrigation timer turns off, then there is no pressure.
As someone who is very much on the grid, love seeing what you can do with what you have to make things like this work off-grid. Such a cool type of problem solving. Reminds me of my lab days. It doesn't need to be perfect, it justs need to work. And it is wild the amount of not just unsolicited advice, but unsolicited criticism some people feel the need to hand out. And it never matters what the context is-- these people just need to feel superior I guess. I once posted about getting stuck in a rental van on a random mountain FS road due to a MASSIVE tree that had fallen across the road and I got multiple comments and DMs that I should have had a mini chainsaw with me. In a rental van! Nevermind that even if it could have gotten through this thing, it wouldn't have helped anyway bc it was too massive to move anything without an atv or truck (guess I should have had one of those in the van too 😅). But at least it was "engagement"?
The wet instructions were cracking me up. 😂 Your setup looks great and from the instagram update it seems like it’s doing what it needs to do and that’s what matters! 🎉
Proud of you Linnea!! The land, the garden, the fencing, "the shop" the well, automatic watering system and most of all you standing up for yourself today!!!!! Take care 🥰
I absolutely love your videos! I also work in solar, plumbing and construction overall. This video was so exciting to watch you! ❤ From one girl to another, keep killing it out there! Enjoy your trip. ❤
I use cayenne pepper around anything I want to discourage mice from invading. There are all kinds of ways to apply it and not be a problem for your pets. I love that you are living your dream, learning as you go, that's half the fun of it!! Circumstances in my younger life didn't allow me such freedom, which was totally ok. During my married life, I did get a chance to do some awesome things and live remotely. Now I'm 66 and dealing with physical issues that at least for the time being, limit me in my activities. So I watch folks like you doing neat things and just enjoy your adventure! Thanks for sharing!
Ok. Now build a covered outdoor kitchen/living room that you can park your van next to. Will provide shade, cover from the rain, be a windbreak and extend the living space of your van. A much needed practical project to spend your time on next.
This is sooo great!!! I love all the information. Thank you! This one is getting saved in my gardening videos. Fingers crossed, I'll be planting in the Spring 😀 Big Hugs for the pups ❤
Nice set-up- an intelligent design that works specifically for you. You are doing an amazing job working on your homestead, while showing us that with enough determination and knowledge, you can do anything you set your mind to all by yourself. Thank you for sharing every step of the process and the sweet moment you had with Akela and Kobuk. ❤
Congrats. Welcome to a lower maintenance garden. I have four raised beds. I can’t stand hand watering. It’s time consuming, inefficient and wasteful. I set up drip on timers and my plants are flourishing. If you have mice eating your little apricot seedlings they may move to your garden. Water is life and a lot of life will be attracted to your garden. Look forward to seeing what it looks like after your trip.
We had a house in the desert and put a drip system,we actually grew irises came back three months later and they were blooming although they kept the flowers below the greens so awesome what you can grow in the desert!

I’m so happy for you that the irrigation system works so you can now travel around and take us with you. I’m so proud of you too girl you have done such amazing work on your land. You rock Linnea and keep doing everything you love 💗 doing hun!! I can’t wait for next week and be able to see your next episode. I’m so excited and truly can’t wait so come on next Sunday and hurry up and get here already would you. Linnea I wish you posted more videos a week but I know i know it’s a lot of work to edit them and on top of all the work your doing on your property it would be mean of me to ask for you to do more work lol!! 😆😊❤❤🎉🎉 Anyway I love your videos and I can’t wait till I can live off grid the way the four of you are. Keep up the amazing work you do and please be safe on your next travels!!! ❤❤❤❤
I jumped out of my chair when i very first heard the water in the hose! LOL Congrats! Now to teach Chris how to do it when you're gone. You amaze me with every video you make!
Hi Linnea, my name is Nora. I have been watching your videos for about a year now and love every one of them. My family did the Rv life for almost four years, and we loved it. We also brought our two mini dachshunds with us. I hope someday as a grown up I too can do van life. Thanks for inspiring me. P.s. good job on the garden
WOO WHO!! Nicely done. You have inspired me to do the same. I choose not to leave because I feel guilty asking someone else to water the way I do. LOL Or I choose not to plant because I won't be here enough. I just need to do this. 😁
Ok, this is cool! I'm planning to do a similar off grid, build as you go property hopefully in a couple years, so i love seeing this! I don't want to be one of those people telling you what to do, and what you're doing definitely works, but in the future you should look into drip tube irrigation. You can mulch on top of it and you loose very little water to evaporation. Plus, some plants really dont want water touched their foliage. That being said, those little sprinklers will get the job done just fine, so it's not worth changing them out until they fail and only if you don't like how they work.
Nailed it. Heck Yess . And to every one who wants to tell you how to...Blaaa You are making these Tubes to Share HOW YOU DO IT. And thats all that maters. Thank you Sweet set up. Happy safe travels
Score!!🎉 I love watching your thinking process!! It's like I tell my daughter, We may not have brawn, but we do have brains. We just gotta figure it out. And we always do! So proud of you!!🎉🎉🎉💕
I'll give you a suggestion that may help you or may not but when you're wiring an RV pump or any 12 volt pump you should always put a inline fuse on the pump even though the pump has a fuse on it while most of them do you always put an inline fuse at the battery or as your blue eddy and I think even your cigarette lighter plugin has a fuse in it too never have enough fuses When I worked on RV we always had an inline fuse either at the Power source or better yet right at the pump By having a fuse at the power source that just stops it from burning the wire from the power source to the pump
Great job Linnea! We love how you set your mind to something and get it done. What works best for you is what is important. If you ever need seeds let us know, we can share what we have for your garden. Hope you have a great week.
I have the same timer and I’m going to suggest you put duck tape over the battery area. It helps preserve the battery because crud will get in there even when you don’t think it would. ✌🏽
Learning what grows and what doesn't is a whole challenge of its own. Don't hesitate to try new stuff, including plants from other countries, sometimes you have great surprises, sometimes..... well hey, it's a Learning curve...
Being overwhelmed is how I start every project. I have a 2020 T@B 400, I noticed the hoses on the Alde heating were swelling at some connection points. Corrosion is a known issue now. Through the entire process of fixing it, it felt like I was just destroying my trailer. It's all put back together, the Alde 'seems' to work better than when I got it and I now have a lot more knowledge about my rig. Trying things that scare us, knowing we may make mistakes is how we learn and become more self-reliant.
I kind of did the same thing to water cats while traveling. Also made an automatic feeder that dispenses twice a day for the strays. Pretty great job Linea. Love what you are doing.
Linnea 🌸🍃 You did such a wonderful job! I really liked how you provided insights in the beginning in how to push past any lack of confidence or uncertainties by just trying. Also, what a wonderful directive in being an example to others to not be afraid to reach out for help from others regarding problem solving. We don’t have to have all the answers - we just need to try! Thank you, for the video. Your resilience is heartwarming and courageous!! 🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸
And! Your garden is amazing for what you had to work with. The fence is beautiful! Scarlet runner beans are gorgeous. Truly amazing first year results in an arid climate.
You really are an impressive human, Linnea. My mom and I watch on Sundays while having our coffee.. I love watching your life unfold. Thanks for sharing, you really are an inspiration!
lol I love your response back to the “know it alls”. The funny part is that the people making those comments have probably never even been in a situation anywhere close to this lol. It’s so easy to know everything from your comfortable living room isn’t it😂.
I figure if I watch enough of you I'll get the encouragement I need to do stuff around the house that needs to be done 😊 since it is only me, myself & I
What I saw or heard was quite normal for being human so relax and enjoy your achievements and do not allow people to drag you down. You have shown that you are willing to consult someone locally for assistant no matter the subject and that, my friend, is called community and there is safety in community. You are familiar with your surroundings therefore you know what is needed for when you are away. I too am from a very hot country at particular times of the year and making sure water is available and protecting the equipment from not only water damage but the extreme heat in very important. The little apricot plants (congrats by the way) maybe you could take them with you, just a suggestion. Enjoy your time away.
I have so much respect for you. I garden full time in the desert ( in Albuquerque ,87107 ) . If I leave, some one has to be here and water .. Or everything dies
If you plant sage, mint, lemongrass, lavender and there are a few others but I can't remember them, these plants will keep flies away most of the time. In my own yard I use Sage, Lavender & mint during the summer the aromatics are amazing and flies are no longer an issue.
Your very intelligence Linnea n U figure alot out on your own ive watched U for a while now n have seen done this . U R A True Inspiration To So Many Of Us . Thank U for Always Sharing Your Amazing Journey n Adventures With Me . Hugs n Love Always From Your Friend In Michigan Tam 💓 💗 💕
You are lucky in that you actually get a lot of rain on and off. Good job trouble -shooting and getting the job done. Yay for everything working sweet.
I love the property videos, bit sad you will be going away but will wait when you come back. And you are better than 90% of certified plumbers, great work Linnea
Yes you do what works for you anybody else thinks that's wrong even I say stuff too but that's mostly just suggestions may be helpful maybe not because the person can only do what works for them not what works for others every place is different and until you live in that place you don't know what works in that place that's all it is to it
You remind me of the first time I built my first landscape lighting system, it was SO EXCITING!! Thanks for taking us along your exciting adventures ! You are on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥girl! Keep going!!

I'm so happy you got this set up! You're amazing!
Thank you!
Great job! Over and over you prove there’s nothing you can’t accomplish if you put your mind to it.
Thank you! :)
And! Your garden is amazing for what you had to work with. The fence is beautiful! Scarlet runner beans are gorgeous. Truly amazing first year results in an arid climate.
Thank you so much! :)
🎉🎉🎉WEPA!!! Gooo apricots! Fingers crossed for the life of the other 😊
Thank you so much!
You really are an impressive human, Linnea. My mom and I watch on Sundays while having our coffee.. I love watching your life unfold. Thanks for sharing, you really are an inspiration!
Aw that's so cute - I'm honored to be a part of your time together.
Homesteading is just a huge science lab. Try something new every season!!!!
Good job!!!!!
Yes! A big experiment the first several years. :)
Great job on getting your irrigation system for your garden, set up and working!😃👍
Thank you so much!
Hi Linnea,What a great vlog.Very enjoyed being with you again.on your land. Glenn & Marion England
Glad you enjoyed it!
lol I love your response back to the “know it alls”. The funny part is that the people making those comments have probably never even been in a situation anywhere close to this lol. It’s so easy to know everything from your comfortable living room isn’t it😂.
It sure is. ;) Thanks for the support and lack of judgement!
I figure if I watch enough of you I'll get the encouragement I need to do stuff around the house that needs to be done 😊 since it is only me, myself & I
Haha love that theory! You've got this!
Super proud of you! Incredible!
Thank you!

Thank you so much!
Wow! Great job. Thanks for sharing your journey ❤
Thank you for watching!
I love the property videos, bit sad you will be going away but will wait when you come back. And you are better than 90% of certified plumbers, great work Linnea
Yes you do what works for you anybody else thinks that's wrong even I say stuff too but that's mostly just suggestions may be helpful maybe not because the person can only do what works for them not what works for others every place is different and until you live in that place you don't know what works in that place that's all it is to it
Nice addition to your place!
You should make your irrigation pipes a ring feed, start at the timer and end at the timer, this will ensure a balanced water pressure.
I’m so inspired to start my own garden
Wow you make irrigation look easy…it isn’t but you figured it out…so cool!!!
Thank you!
You remind me of the first time I built my first landscape lighting system, it was SO EXCITING!! Thanks for taking us along your exciting adventures ! You are on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥girl! Keep going!!
