Thank you so much for sharing about this experience. I’ve been waiting with bated breath. The first thing I want to say is that I teared up about the diner your Dad loved. I’m sorry, I am sentimental and nostalgic about places too and I felt that. Secondly, it is so amazing to see people learning the skills that all of our ancestors had. We would not be here if it weren’t for the animals that our ancestors ate and turned into clothing and shelter and bags to carry things in. I’m Indigenous so this is very beautiful to see glimpses of as I never learned these skills. But it has made me reflect on how every single person on this planet is descended from survivors; people with a warrior heart. Surviving extreme weather, extreme famine, predatory animals, accidents, war and disease. Thank you for learning all the things you learn and then sharing.
Linnea, in my 69 years of life I have learned that we all started with a full vessel of experiences with the people who we love and that as we go down the path of our journey we look back and find out many things get erased from the present but as long as we continue to smile at what we are we will continue the cherished memories! Peace and light!
I am 58 and recently bullied into retirement. . .rightfully so. Since January 1st I have been able to go through my parents' photo albums & my albums, and was able to recall sooo many experiences. . . . Soo many memories.😊
Uuuggggghhhh!!! I just love watching your videos!!! They make me feel like there's still some good world left. I don't know how else to put it but I can feel it in my heart and I just love you and everything you do ❤️
My husband and I had a 3 year old beagle who was our whole world. We went to visit my dad in his farm and he ran back into the woods and had a fight with coyotes. The vet tried to save him for a week but we had to let him go. Our world fell apart. Every minute of everyday was planned around his happiness. I don’t work and my husband is self employed so he’s around. We walked 7-8 miles a day with him. We stayed in bed for a week depressed. Last week we got a baby beagle named trapper. Timbur was the one who died. We won’t ever get over Timbur. Still miss him everyday. But a new baby heals the heart. Akela is blessed to have you.
I'm so glad you got another beagle ❤ I had a cat named Timbur. He got out one day and I went into the woods looking for him. Yelling...timbur over and over. I never found him 😢 but he wanted to be in the woods so he was happy. But, all my neighbors wanted to know what I cutting down in the woods without a permit 😆. I was confused until I remembered I was saying timbur in the woods 😂 Funny ending to a hard day. I hope you love your new puppy❤
this video reminded me of the initiations for young people into adulthood i used to be involved in. The young men and women had a list of things to undertake over two years and one of them was to raise an animal and then feed their community with it. There was one young man that raised two goats that he loved so so much, on the day he took their lives to feed the community he dressed them in beautiful necklaces he made and flowers and took them for one last ride in his row boat to his little island and took their lives with so much beauty, and fed his community with so much honouring of his goats and the community that people still talk about it today a couple of decades later. I have never seen such beauty and honouring of life in that youngman. Thank you for reminding me of all of this
Beauty in killing two friends...Really?. These animals wanted to live.....Killing for eating an animal you ve never seen before....But dressing your friends to kill them to give as a present to...Monster
Callie is a BOSS ! she rocked Alone. I am so glad you hooked up with her, I cheered for her to win, but its a harsh ass world where they put you Alone. I have to say I have been watching your posts for the last 5 days, and I cant wait for the next ! You have inspired me at the age of 59 ! you have come to a place of understanding and acceptance and you have a great literary mind ! all I can say is MORE !
I have been watching you for sometime now and I have to tell you how special you have been in my life. You have a way of speaking to my soul and the parts of me that my generation of people never tapped into. You bring my spirit out and allow me to know peace and calmness. Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us.
Almost 300k subscribers!! Your journey & message resonates with so many of us... Even if we can't get out there and live this life due to various circumstances, it's truly wonderful to experience it through your eyes
I can see in your face how this experience changed you. These kinds of days, with incredible people, days with your kindreds, are some of the most important times in our lives. Thanks for sharing your life changing moments. Much love to you, Linnea 🩵
The cafe closing made me cry before you're tear flowed. I enjoy your channel production and your heart, and dog. I love how balanced, focused and motivated you are.
When I watched your videos for the first time I knew what a wonderful person you were by how you interacted with your dog,not to underscore the accomplishments you have achieved, you young lady are completely amazing!
Your cinematography is so beautiful and your stories bring me to tears sometimes. Today was one of those times. I grew up in Montana. Thank you for taking me back for a few minutes. With love...
I’ve tried repeatedly to find the words to relate how profoundly moved I was by this stunningly beautiful expression of life and emotion. But it has truly left me speechless. All I’m left with is a deeply heartfelt “Thank you.”
Alone is where the noise winds 23:57 down, where Peace can come in and flow through my veins, my body and energy comes back into my being. Thank u so much for sharing.
I never feel alone when I'm in nature; I feel like I'm part of something greater. I've never spent a night without my dog in 9.5 years. I never want to be without her but I know someday I will. Time is precious.
It feels so validating to hear you say that about traveling without a dog. The constant worry about my girl Maggie and whether she’s happy or scared or getting enough of anything or too much of things it’s a constant thought, and it can really be tiring. Layer that on top of literally doing anything for our animals and loving them so much that you can’t imagine your life without them… It’s very validating to hear another dog owner talk about the mental break and how necessary it is sometimes.
I'm sorry about the diner. I totally felt that. My dad is gone. Everything we shared is burned into my memory. Food was huge! He was a simple baker. He and my mom owed a bakery, almost until he passed. We love the greasy diner, the hole is the wall, mom and pop and the fancy schmancy place where they'd give you a sport coat if you didn't have one. We had amazing adventures even though they weren't far from home.
What a fascinating event to attend! I love this and that you were able to experience and learn so much. I thought you nailed it when you said as you were driving “home” that some experiences align with what you want, what excites you or what lights you up. That’s not exactly how you said it but that’s how I took it because I have had those experiences and you just don’t want to forget that this is what floats your boat. You’re in your element when you’re outside learning perhaps the old ways of doing things but they’re all hands-on experiences, allowing creativity to flow. You walk away from time well spent with like-minded people. You’re living your best life! I will add one thing tho, don’t forget God. Giving Him the special worship in gratitude for all His blessings just for you. You are so very valuable and special in His eyes.❤😊
@Linnea & Akela: I also notice that my legs swell on long drive days. One suggestion that has worked brilliantly for me is wearing compression socks on those days. There are some really cute ones available these days that aren’t at all old granny style. I highly recommend you get some, as the make a HUGE difference.
The same thing happened to me in Libby Montana. It was called The Libby Cafe. They had the best Swedish Pancakes in the world. My life long friend of mine would eat there whenever he was in town. Now he is gone and the Libby Cafe closed soon after. I sure miss both of them.
I Love my alone time. Seems like more and more people are choosing to live alone and off grid these days. It started out as a trend but has become a new way of life. Like we are all going back to pioneer days. Nice to see so many young people joining in.
I love being alone, just myself and dog, But when it comes to solo camping I fear the unknown & what if's. What an interesting place you visited , processing an animal to processing the hides . Excellent job on the videography .
Being alone is always great to develop who you are without other people leading you or telling you what and what not to do. You get to do what you want. I've never lived alone, but I find time to be alone. This I think is healthy. I get out and take in the beauty of nature this I capture to share with my camera. I enjoyed your video, keep up the great work!
WOW...first of all that moon shot you got took my breath away! Second, your hide is beautiful, and you should be proud of your accomplishment! Great video this week! Thanks for sharing!! ❤
This was one of my favorite videos, my friend. Traveling with 2 doggos I recently went solo camping & missed them terribly but also took notice of my lack of dog mom anxiety. Thanks for sharing that & for your workshop highlights. Lovely unity & camaraderie shown. WEPA!!! Keep living my friend - keep living.
I was born in Kalispell and moved to experience less snowy to no snow places like now living on Kaua'i for over 8 years...I know how blessed I am to have Roots in those mountains to spread my Wings to explore this Earth ✨🤍✨🌺
I found your channel only a few weeks ago. I love your videos. Thank you for sharing so openly and in a raw fashion. You inspire me and motivate me. Blessings.
Beautiful Job, Linnea on the photography and insights. I am so sorry you are missing Akela yet you are so very accurate - being a PetParent is an incredible responsibility that must be thought through in consideration of their needs not just our own. Thank you, for sharing this valuable experience with us (hug). I am touched by the authenticity of your presentation and the focus towards the values of relationships. Being Alone is not Being Lonely. Fly on Brave Wings ~* 🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸🍃🌸
This may sound a little weird, but now that the little restaurant is closed you can have your burrito and green sauce anywhere or anytime you need to! There is a little freedom and specialness to this new development. Does that make sense? I hope so. It's meant with the greatest respect to you and your dad.... You are smart to think so well for your dogs wellbeing.
Thank you for making this video for us in that was one of your best moments in my entire time following your journey And adventures with Akela and yes we all missed her and her lovely smile and her attitude of being out in the wilderness with you and we all know how much you missed her too but we are also very proud of you this this for thinking of her health too and Chris is an amazing man and doggy daddy lol !!! And I honestly hope you guys are doing well now and we will see you next week in the next one love to you guys and see you next week !!!
Callie and her beloved toes! I love her too❤ I feel you on the closed diner, that ones hard. Interesting how that diner was closed and a new chapter began, life. Always shifting. To cherishing memories and new friends!❤
The shift that you describe having been immersed in this experience shines through. Even your speech is lower and slower. What an incredible adventure.
An inspiring video! Your finished work is amazing! I totally understand the need to have some totally alone time. It’s important for my wellbeing. Thanks for sharing this experience with us!
Good stuff. Trying something completely new in a completely new area can be tough especially feeling uncertain/uneasy to begin with. Your videos show others or just me that branching out can be transformative. After separating from the military I moved to Utah and it healed me (mentally/spiritually) but still have a long journey ahead. Keep up the good work.
Yay! I was waiting for this video and it was just as wonderful as I anticipated. Your hide is beautiful and yes! It suits you. Aww.. tears for sure re the diner experience. ❤
What an incredible adventure and you brought us along! Thank you! I was wondering about your tanning experience and here it is! You did an amazing job working that hide!
Linnea, it's Ricky from Oregon went through a crushed foot injury this past so have not been in touch, have been watching your shows past couple of days and you just keep getting better, and better love your drive to keep going on just keep doing what your doing, ya know burritos green sauce my ALL TIME FAVORITE and next time I have one Iam going to think about my DAD who at times I miss so much more then life I watch your strength you have and really helps me get through ya know, please remember Linnea he is there. Peace for now, Thank you again for just being you.😊
Tanning your own hides seems like such a lost art and something I would love to learn. I crochet and I am wanting to learn to make yarn, starting all the way at the sheeting process. I know how to card wool into roving but I’ve never sheered the wool or spun the roving into a crochetable fiber.
Well done. Keep up the good work. More people need to get back to the basics of a natural life. Learning to cure an animal hide and keeping it soft and supple is a big accomplishment and will allow you to do so much for yourself. Learning to use every part of each animal so nothing goes to waste and the animals' life is appreciated and honoured is so important to their soul and ours.
This Video Was Amazing Linnea. Thanks for Sharing this Amazing Journey n Adventure With Me. Elsa shared her BIG SECRET... IM So Happy For Them 2 .... I Just Love Them Guys . I Bet Akela is missing her momma n im know her momma is missin her . Your the best pup parent 💕 Linnea ... What U guys were doin looked very interesting. My hubby is a deer hunter n we have a few mounts on wall . So this was very interesting and looked like alot of hard work at times . Safe Travels Home . God Bless Ya'll. Hugs n Love Always From Your Friend In Michigan Tam ❤️ 💖 💗 💕
I am so happy people like you and Callie are on the planet. Gives me faith in the future. A friend gave me a sheepskin to add to my bed and it made a world of difference. I used to raise Soays - they are a fascinating breed, very different from Icelandic sheep. So odd to see you without Akela - I've been without my travel buddy for a year, and yes, it's "easier" but also so much harder.
I could not agree with you more about the need and love of being alone. And it has nothing to do with loneliness. Having that time alone makes me a better person and allows me the space to be kinder to others.
What an amazing experience. Your hide is beautiful and I’m sure will bring such memories as years go by. You are an inspiration and what’s good in this world we live in. Thank you for making Sundays better.❤️🧚🏼♂️❤️
Thank you beautiful Linnea as always sharing your thoughts and experiences with your love of life on your terms ❤️ my momma was and will always be my best friend and I miss our talks every single day. She was really the only other human that I have enjoyed talking to honestly, real talks not small like others. She always said Lisa if you come to love your own company over others and be your own friend then you will never be truly alone and will know quiet peace.. I've been a lone wolf my entire life and love it... shine on diamond 💎
It is so awesome, that nice folks are teaching others real life skills , Solid skills . Thank Goddess . What a blast I have been a hippy homesteader since 1982 . I just love this story, thanks for sharing. Outstanding .
I love symbolism of you talking about traveling alone and then connecting with Callie from the show “Alone”. She seems like such an intelligent, kind, and genuine person.
What a wonderful experience you had. It always feels so good to be around inspiring people. It is so good for the soul. The moon was spectacular!! I feel such peace when I look at the moon & that one was so beautiful. Thank you for sharing such a unique and inspiring video. ❤🐾
this was such a beautiful and inspiring video, I’ve tried hide tanning before but felt the meed for a mentor. I want to start saving for this workshop, the energy was amazing!
What an amazing adventure! Love your Hyde Linnea. Job well done. I’m also sorry to hear the burrito restaurant was closed permanently. I hope you found a place similar to it. Enjoy those mountains and thank you for sharing this beautiful experience with us.✨🤍
Wow looked incredible and absolutely filled with information and creativity. This is the folks you had told me about who do this in AZ at times as well! I’m going to definitely check her out. I really loved the flow of just BEING in this one & the old school values which our world has been deprived of by modern technology. Great video Linnea, and of course we all missed akela
Hi Linnea! So happy we made it to a premiere! We usually catch replays. Great video as always. Thank you for all the info in your description. Hope you have a great week.
Awww love you you linea I know that diner closing really hit hard then Akela not being there to help you through that moment was probably just pretty heavy. Big hugs girl!❤
You're heading to the place I'll always think of as home. I grew up all over flathead County mostly west of Kalispell and up by W. Glacier graduated HS in Columbia Falls. Then I moved to the north woods of Wisconsin and spent 6yrs feeling free, traveling and coming in to my own. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Yours is the life I'd have continued to live if I hadn't had my daughter. I look forward to continuing my gypsy life once she steps off on her own.
: ) GO Linnea! I keep a fortune cookie saying in my Cell phone cover, I have a need for solitude some of the time :) THANKS MUCH for all you do and share, ALL the BEST and Cheers from upper left ! : )
That moon! What a sight to behold! Tanning those hides and animal processing sounds like a great skill plus a community to bond with. I so wanted you to be able to do this with Elsa Rae but yes, she is on a grand new, life-altering blessed journey with her husband, Baron. I'm glad you managed so well w/o tour companion, Akela.
The most peace I have ever felt was on my 21st birthday in 1988 in Eugene, Oregon at a Grateful Dead concert. Did not have one drop of alcohol on that day. Not one fight, drunk jerk, nothing. Everyone was so peaceful and nice and the vibe was amazing. Wish I could go back. This gathering reminds me of that.
You are the first person that has validated for me that it's ok to enjoy being alone. Thank you.
Yes, that is pretty awesome right, others on this blue planet love our own company 🥰
Looks like there are 500 more who feel like that😊
You are entirely valid in that feeling. I understand completely!
Agreed!
I have found most people to be "in-authentic" . . . Now, I spend my time in the company of dogs❤️

What a beautiful experience. Thank you for sharing it ❤
The shift that you describe having been immersed in this experience shines through. Even your speech is lower and slower. What an incredible adventure.
Wow thank you for noticing that shift!
Aw thank you so much for the support and care!
Omg thank you for putting words to my thoughts at 16:47 minutes into the video. This same thing happens so often to me. ❤
Aw I'm so glad to relate!
In my humble opinion, your Dad is always with you. Be open to the signs and the energy of the after life. Namaste
Thank you so much
What an incredible adventure and you brought us along! Thank you! I was wondering about your tanning experience and here it is! You did an amazing job working that hide!
I'm so happy to share the experience with you! :)
What an amazing experience. So happy you shared it with us to enjoy also. ❤
Glad you had a great time and I know Akela will be glad to have you back!
Thank you!
That is amazing...sometimes travel alone helps you reflect and appreciate the things you have. Sometimes you need that.
Agree - I love it!
Completely relate!
❤ wow I love seeing this so cool 😎 thank you for sharing this 💜 ❤️ 😅😊.
What a blast
I have been a hippy homesteader since 1982 . I just love this story, thanks for sharing. Outstanding .
I love symbolism of you talking about traveling alone and then connecting with Callie from the show “Alone”. She seems like such an intelligent, kind, and genuine person.
She is absolutely wonderful! It was such an honor to meet and interact with her. :)

Another great video Linnea
As usual you’re so inspiring and wise beyond your years
Keep safe
Thanks Christine wales 🏴
Thank you so much, Christine!
Safe travels!!💚
Thank you!
What an amazing time you had.
this spoke to my soul. Thank you for creating!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Big love, i have my beautiful Beagle Lottie. She brings so much joy and love and can only Imagine the pain you guys must of gone through. Xxx
