    Somehow I have binge watched at least 15-20 videos over last 3 days! 😩Mostly handbag LV restores. I worked in product development for a handbag designer , so im fascinated with construction. I own 5 or 6 LV bags. Hate to be long winded but u are worth it... After leaving living in NYC moving back to the DMV area I was so disappointed that I wouldn’t be able to find a local repairman, really wasn’t looking. Ive taken trips back just to have trusted quality craftsmanship. Finding u by happenstance is a dream! You do impeccable work, that quite like an artisan and i am sure its not the 6-8 week wait time LV projects! And how u playfully say Louis Vuitton, cracks me up! I now want to replace the Vaccheta leather on my Sac Plat after this video. Vuitton, additionally, wouldn’t replace my lining (the one that crumbles/ disintegrates and gets sticky. The bag is from either 92 or 95 (date code gone bc it was stamped on the lining). I would love to either have that canvas you relined the train case with or provide u with a calfskin or lambskin and create a new lining. How do I need to move forward? Especially with regards to me providing the leather. Send pics for a quote?
    Lmk when u have a chance.

    Caffeine leaves your system after 16 hours completely, those shakey hands are here to stay regardless of the coffee and provided your hand eye coordination stays solid you'll never have an issue. Fantastic works as always Steve.

      you might want to get the shakes checked out by a doc, my nana started getting shakes in one of he hand and it turned out to be parkinsons syndrome :c

    • @arsonfly
      @arsonfly 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@coolthinghere6853 more often than not it's just an essential jerk (tremor).
      The funny thing about caffeine and all drugs is that the symptoms of those drugs can also be symptoms of withdrawal. Your brain grows to function with the drug and stopping the drug throws your system for a loop. It's like the feeling when you get off a treadmill after a while and you feel floaty. Your system had gotten used to the treadmill. So, I wouldn't rule out caffeine withdrawal symptoms until about 30 days (how long it took me to withdraw from the sauce).
      I would also actively train yourself to hold your hand steady. Perfectly steady may or may not be possible but steadier should be. I'm not a doctor but I have read a whole lot and been through withdrawal and I know your brain and nervous system have an adjustment period after losing a stimulant, depressant or any other substances that affect the brain.
      Thank you for coming to my Tedtalk 😂

      @@arsonfly Looks like a tremor, i have the same but a little weaker. If it bothers you a lot there are some medical options, like taking beta blockers, but those have a good amount of harmful side effects. Since you still can work perfectly, it doesnt matter.
      The worst thing about is the look of other ppl, or if its gets worst with adrenalin. Not funny when some idiot cops stop you in a bad moment (tired, angry and so on) and ask you if you took drugs because you are shaking so much and pull off all the tests they can. Horrible, went through that, the rage inside you makes it even worse

    Your Louis Vuitton restorations are my favorite! I have a vintage LV keepall just like this from the mid 80s. It is still going strong without needing repairs. I just keep the leather conditioned and try to be mindful of sharp edges when I shove it under the plane seat 😂
    They are expensive but pretty hard wearing and can be passed down for generations if cared for appropriately. There are many Pre-loved bags out there for a fraction of the price as well.
    Interesting about the patches on the bottom! LV won’t touch a bag if the canvas is even cracked. It’s great to have expert craftsman such as yourself out there to do these fantastic repairs of pieces that people cherish! I think having feet on this bag would be awesome and if I were to redesign it, I would add a pocket or two to the interior.
    Cheers!

    It doesn’t really matter if it’s not original anymore. LOUIS Vuitton are moving away from its prototype and minimising design that consist this massive replacement work that you are doing for the vintage pieces. I Guess it is right thing to do to salvage as much history we could. And it doesn’t really matter it’s original or not. The canvas is still original and not easy to replicate. Keep up the spirit ! I’ve enjoyed watching them.

    • @BryanHeartBreaker
      @BryanHeartBreaker 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Finger Toe by DLPS uhmmm not easy to replicate? The worlds most replicated brand lol. There are more Louis Vuitton fakes than there are real.

    • @Fingertoeland
      @Fingertoeland 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      B N I meant the qualities. They are widely replicate but do they really went through a quality test ? You can replicate every single thing but 1:1 with durability test, it would cost not much lesser than an original LV. LV canvas is the cheapest material in their production because the canvas are meant for industrial grade. and if consumer don’t use the LV BAG they bought from boutique, it’s going to crack and deteriorate. They are meant to be abused. The one that Bedo L replacing, the handles are so F dry and cracks. I have a few LV that had put in good use although the patina stains. But they don’t crack at all and well seasoned. The canvas is soooo soft. Products are meant to be used not kept. If you seriously would want to compare. The item that doesn’t last you a lifetime is Gucci ! if you abuse them you can just throw them in the bin. I’m not biased of the brand. I salvaged so many of Gucci before they really ended up in the bin. I feel sad that people pay so much in the first place and it worth nothing at all at the end of the life.

IMO better than any other industrial contact cement for leather work. Thank you for the recommendation. Been using it for over a year. Very happy. There have been times in the past that we needed a Cobbler and could never locate one in the Knoxville area (I've since found a few but now it's not necessary - shoes/boots were replaced) Your skills and abilities (and sense of humor!) are amazing to watch and it may seem funny to be 'hooked' but I am! I remember my dad making "Lebanese Coffee" in a small aluminum "The Comet" coffee pot which was coated inside with a crust. I think mainly from the reaction of the sugar and the powdered coffee we got from The New York Tea and Coffee Company. We hosted an international student from there too. She sent a gift of some elegant white cups and decanter for the "libation." Less shaky Steve.

    Nice videos. What is your opinion of Connollys leather treatment cream & cleaner ? RR & Aston Martin recommend it.

    Very nice, I know very little about these LV bags other than they are WAY over priced (my opinion)! In saying that, I always thought that the whole bag was leather! Why do they cost so much? But again Steve you go above n beyond to make your customers happy, that in it's self is why I love watching you! Not only what you do but mostly I love your attitude, PLUS you make me laugh! As always cheers from Canada eh

    Have have this same bag. Is there anyway to add leather to make it functional with a shoulder strap and make it look as original as possible?
