In the US, scholl lunches are pre cooked and packaged and taken to the schools, it used to be all school lunches were cooked on sight daily, the Board of Education should be made to eat the current lunches for schools as their meals everyday.....
In my country school lunches may look a little less colourful sometimes, but they're still yummy and nutritious :) (we had a lot of soups lol) also they're paid by the government (so my family didn't have to worry about lunch money) and you can always get second or sometimes even third portions, so nobody really went hungry at school!

Same. I graduated high school in 2008 and I have extreme allergies. Literally in the thousands of allergies. The main ones that are my most deadly are tree nuts, soy (no tofu), all raw fruits and raw vegetables. If I cook the fruit and vegetables it denatures the proteins I'm allergic to and I can eat them just fine. If I pasteurize them then it's fine too. I buy my fruit in jars with fruit juice and it works perfectly. I can eat raw lettuce as that doesn't bother me at all. However just touching a raw carrot can cause hives. It's awful! I had to bring all my lunches to school until 10th grade when I went to a new school and they had grilled chicken Ceasar wraps and small salads with ham and cheese in it. I loved them and had those a lot! My mom would pack me a hot lunch every day in my thermos. She'd make rice, noodles, sometimes even left over steak dinner. I had some good hot lunches growing up! I remember one girl in 1st grade kept demanding I give her some of my lunch and I said no. She went up to my mom and told her to make me share my food. My mom of course said no, that's her food and you can't have it. I loved that!
my school lunches were pretty decent (probably because I was at a private school), until they just stop doing it because they were concerned that they might poison students (this was because of the pandemic)

In Saudi Arabia most schools don’t have lunches but we do have a lil store where you can buy some energy drinks Instant ramen tea coffee and all that stuff Also yes there are schools (private schools) that have lunches and they’re really good and filling sandwiches that aren’t soggy and vanilla milk some baby carrots and cut up apples! Basic but filling and never soggy
here in Indonesia (at least in my time), we only get either : - ... I'm not sure what to call it in English, we call it "kacang hijau" (which literally translated to green bean), but its not. Its basically beansprout in its bean state, we boil it in water, add some sugar (usually brown sugar), pandan leaf, and sometimes coconut milk. - sumsum porridge, basically a mix of rice flour, coconut milk, pandan leaf, and a pinch of salt. All mixed together and cook slowly until it thickens, then serve with melted brown sugar. - black sticky rice with coconut milk and brown sugar , cooked until soft. that what we got on 1st grade, never had a school lunch since. we just buy food or snacks in the school canteen. Some did bought their own from home.

At our school we just bring our own food or buy food at the canteen. The best thing they sell there is probably, Ramen, Donuts or probably Fruity Ice, an ice cream that's really famous in our school
We dont have a school lunch here at least where i went but we have a tuck shop that sold like muffins and zooper doopers, and in primary school you could place lunch orders that came in a paper bag thats the most similar to these i think, it was just thinks like a jaffle or hotdog or some frozen fruit Frozen pineapple goes hard tbh
So much better In germany on a normal Schoolday you can get one portion with for example Spaghetti and tomato sauce oder Salad with sliced chicken and if you want a little dessert for example an apple or pudding. But i prefere to go to the supermarkets there are 3 next to our school and one backery. So my lunch would be whatever i bring from home or find in the supermarkets
Lots more options I can eat than what we have here in the U.S. Schools do not accommodate gluten free food very well. There are no main options I can have, I just eat carrots half the time. They have salad, but you have to pay for it, and I can't afford to bring food everyday so it's pretty sucky.

At my sch In Britain we can choose if we want hot food or cold food- cold food is like bringing packed lunches but u can get it from sch anyways for Esther option the drink choices stay the same : capri sun, Suso, water, juice burst, flavoured water, juices/ apple or orange for hot food you can have a HALF a pizza I know kids that have this every day and eat macdonalds at home and waffles at break and pancakes for breakfast- nothing against it ofc just personally not my thing. Or you can have a full main meal which sometimes has gammon and mash I don’t get it so idk the full menu but it ain’t as nice as what u get and cold food spinach wraps, wet soggy pasta that doesn’t have flavour, sandwiches that no one buys coz they don’t have many good flavours ❤

Everything else was..... edible but was empty calories or the unappetizing thick wedge parts of lettuce and thin limp shreds of carrots or the incredibly bland mixed fruit, you'd be hunted down if you got a whole cherry they were one of the few flavorful things.
In America we drink expired chocolate milk, underwhelming burgers that are very charred, salad that usually ends up on the floor, with grapes that also usually end up on the floor. Not as bad as others
Nah in my school someone found a staple in their pasta and some cheese sandwich was moldy on top of that they took away the best thing. The brownies they were so good. The burgers were so nasty everyone refused to eat them and called it mystery meat

Our school don't serve lunch so most students if they live far bring food from their homes and eat at school as for me, my house is just a 7 minute minute walk from school so I go home to eat lunch
My school's lunch is probably one of the only schools in the world which has REALLY good food There are 32 different options, with 4 different options every day. The first options is a hot meal, and the second is either another hot meal or a cold meal, the third is a cheese, ham, or tuna roll. The fourth is a jacket potato with the same topping as the third one Ye sadly you guys most likely don't live in Wales
Bro the only school-cooked meal we get is dry spaghetti with not enough cheese. Sometimes we get coal-grilled hotdogs and pork intestines, and on the days that the school doesn't cook, we just buy branded chips🥲
How does it compare to my country? Well.. let’s just say it’s literally 100% better. I don’t mean the food the school gives us is terrible, I mean we don’t get any at all. Welcome to Australia.

We never had a cafeteria it wasn't really a thing in canada. We had programs so poor kids could eat before school but that was it
