They are all just see how hard they can push you to the limit it just ppl getting to live life normal like others but no they make it to were you can have to go through hell. There is a clear, and concise difference between addicted and dependent. Those who are addicted, abuse their meds. Those who are dependent, rely on their meds to be productive, and/or have a better quality of life. These folks do not deserve to have to suffer without them. Withdrawal is horrible!! And, with that, then doctors need to prescribe medications for this, in the event their patients pain meds are not available. I have been on the same pain medication for nearly 20 years. I've never needed an early refill, because I lost them, my dog ate them, I spilled them in the sink, or flushed them by accident, someone stole them, whatever. Doctors alone, surely can differentiate if their patients are responsible enough to manage their meds appropriately. There is absolutely no reason, to force said patients into a situation where they feel they need to go to the street, as apposed to going through weeks of sheer hell with Withdrawal. Whoever is placing companies and patients in this situation, need to smarten up. Alternative psych meds DO NOT WORK. We are not guienea pigs. If our pain meds, is all that works for us, then stay in your lane. It is what it is.

This is the best answers of information I've gotten in 21/2 months. Just been finding out on my fill date there is no hydrocodone. No answers & no suggestions about any other med 4 chronic pain medications that might atleast take edge off & give any pain relief. Just get told they r out. Due 2 severe injury in 1995 & other injury on & off since I need relief. Is there any other med that will possibly help my pain.

There are severe shortages across the U.S. Patients are forced to physically go to pharmacies in search of their pain medications. A plethora of patients are driving upwards of 100 miles (one way) in hopes of finding their meds. Most pharmacies do not give out pain med info over the phone, not even to confirm or deny carrying the medication. Likewise, pain clinics and dr’s offices will not help their patients in finding the meds. I am a chronic pain patient and everything stated above is fact, not overheard or rumored info. Each person reading this is one fall or automobile accident away from joining our ranks. People trying to get rid of guilt because their family member overdosed sued the pharmaceuticals and the pharmaceuticals are not going to recover from those class actions your government has taken over your health care. I can't help it if somebody overdoses from pain medication that they're not even supposed to be taking. I have an autoimmune disease and I've broken almost every bone in my body and I have a lot of other things going on and I'm in agony. My doctor was sanctioned. He can't give me any pain medicine. They have no problem putting the whole damn country on antidepressants. The shortage is a direct result of your government overstepping its bounds. Politicians pandering for votes from families who feel guilty that their family member died of an overdose. Class actions who suedical companies because their family member overdosed.
I am in Alabama and after 4 failed back surgeries and now 2 autoimmune diseases, I have been on pain management for about 15 years. I have only 1 change/increase in my pain meds in that time. I don't over take my meds, sell them or ask for extra. I take them as prescribed and see my specialist every 2 or 3 months. Three times in 2023 my meds were out of stock EVERYWHERE. Two of those times it was 3 and 4 days but once it was 9 days. Do you know what it is like to be w/o your meds for 9 days? It was not fun. I looked it up and found where the DEA has mandated decreasing production of pain meds a certain percentage every year. In the last 10 years or so they have caused a decrease in production of around 60-70% from what it was. That is not an insignificant amount. I feel as though legit patients who take their meds properly are having to pay for the ones that abused them and then tried to blame the pharmaceutical companies.

It is and it isn’t. For a chronic pain patient this is a standard dose. They don’t even feel it It actually sucks as a chronic pain drug. Too many ups and downs.
120 at 5mg is 4 pills a day for 1 month script. It only contains 325 mg of tylenol as well. That is two pills short of what you're allowed to take in a day. You would know that if you were actually a good tech.

There is a clear, and concise difference between addicted and dependent. Those who are addicted, abuse their meds. Those who are dependent, rely on their meds to be productive, and/or have a better quality of life. These folks do not deserve to have to suffer without them. Withdrawal is horrible!! And, with that, then doctors need to prescribe medications for this, in the event their patients pain meds are not available. I have been on the same pain medication for nearly 20 years. I've never needed an early refill, because I lost them, my dog ate them, I spilled them in the sink, or flushed them by accident, someone stole them, whatever. Doctors alone, surely can differentiate if their patients are responsible enough to manage their meds appropriately. There is absolutely no reason, to force said patients into a situation where they feel they need to go to the street, as apposed to going through weeks of sheer hell with Withdrawal. Whoever is placing companies and patients in this situation, need to smarten up. Alternative psych meds DO NOT WORK. We are not guienea pigs. If our pain meds, is all that works for us, then stay in your lane. It is what it is.
Between 1%-3% of chronic pain patients are AT RISK of POTENTIALLY abusing their meds. These are the gov OWN numbers. Yet, we continue to suffer in abandoned agony.
This is the best answers of information I've gotten in 21/2 months. Just been finding out on my fill date there is no hydrocodone. No answers & no suggestions about any other med 4 chronic pain medications that might atleast take edge off & give any pain relief. Just get told they r out. Due 2 severe injury in 1995 & other injury on & off since I need relief. Is there any other med that will possibly help my pain.

All my local pharmacies here South of Houston are out! I don't use pain meds but I had to start getting all my meds through my insurance mail in. I get it a week late but i get them

There are severe shortages across the U.S. Patients are forced to physically go to pharmacies in search of their pain medications. A plethora of patients are driving upwards of 100 miles (one way) in hopes of finding their meds. Most pharmacies do not give out pain med info over the phone, not even to confirm or deny carrying the medication. Likewise, pain clinics and dr’s offices will not help their patients in finding the meds. I am a chronic pain patient and everything stated above is fact, not overheard or rumored info. Each person reading this is one fall or automobile accident away from joining our ranks. People trying to get rid of guilt because their family member overdosed sued the pharmaceuticals and the pharmaceuticals are not going to recover from those class actions your government has taken over your health care. I can't help it if somebody overdoses from pain medication that they're not even supposed to be taking. I have an autoimmune disease and I've broken almost every bone in my body and I have a lot of other things going on and I'm in agony. My doctor was sanctioned. He can't give me any pain medicine. They have no problem putting the whole damn country on antidepressants. The shortage is a direct result of your government overstepping its bounds. Politicians pandering for votes from families who feel guilty that their family member died of an overdose. Class actions who suedical companies because their family member overdosed.
I am in Alabama and after 4 failed back surgeries and now 2 autoimmune diseases, I have been on pain management for about 15 years. I have only 1 change/increase in my pain meds in that time. I don't over take my meds, sell them or ask for extra. I take them as prescribed and see my specialist every 2 or 3 months. Three times in 2023 my meds were out of stock EVERYWHERE. Two of those times it was 3 and 4 days but once it was 9 days. Do you know what it is like to be w/o your meds for 9 days? It was not fun. I looked it up and found where the DEA has mandated decreasing production of pain meds a certain percentage every year. In the last 10 years or so they have caused a decrease in production of around 60-70% from what it was. That is not an insignificant amount. I feel as though legit patients who take their meds properly are having to pay for the ones that abused them and then tried to blame the pharmaceutical companies.

It is also likely that reduction was also done under Obama as the allowed production limits for hydrocodone from the DEA were reduced by ~74% from their peak in 2014 and Oxycodone by ~66% from its 2014 peak production. This is a problematic policy that presidents from both parties have carried on and pushed in their administrations.
