  • How to deal with the Magma on the Surface of the Superconductive Asteroid. You may know this as the Magma Asteroid as there is a Large Pool of Magma on the Surface. It also houses the Rare Resource, Niobium.
    I explain a few methods on how to safely deal with the super hot material.
    We talk about the necessary materials, Rocket Layout & Modules, as well as the different techniques and strategies that you have at your disposal.

    I never hear about method with rowers. Wow! Now I see they can be really helpful because they are not affected by temperature or radiation which caused me headache everytime when I deploy dublicants there. Thank you!

    This is a very timely video; my next step was to get niobium. Thanks man

    the fourth way would be to let it drain into an escher waterfall infinite liquid storage

      i was gonna included that but i deemed it too unsafe

    You want to have a second tunnel to the room filled with sour gas. It will take ages to et vacuumed out, and any gas is going to get in the way of the volcano tamer. Keeping the two areas separate is super important.

      Any reason you want that volcano? You can get wolframite from space POI, then make infinite thermium. You can't meaningfully export power anyway

      @@hailstorm7868 Personally, I find space POI harvesting to be a hassle.

    Literally just got my first niobium today, took a lot of save scumming and ended up just putting down some tiles to push the magma up to space. and then had an almost fully clear way down

      @@2LegitCity well at first i realized i totally forgot about giving them atmosuits, so i just watched my ari run around a 1500 degree environment without an atmosuit fully dumbfounded. I tried to save him but ended up save scumming and tried again a bit more prepared. The radiation sickness was awful, had them puke like 20 times, forgot to bring rad pills, but i pushed trough for some reason

      @@valdemarsvensson3167 yeah, most of the time people focus on the super hot magma and dont notice the huge rad values on the UV light. the rads stack fast

    And to add, even if there is not a vacuum, dupes exchange almost no heat with solids so they can wolk over scorching tiles without problems. Liquid and gas are the problem.

    Methods 2 and 3 could be made a lot faster by building a pair of walls to close off a column of magma. Three spaces inbetween to fit a ladder with a door crusher or pitcher pump to the side. Having five or more and you could have space for a ladder that is pressurized but also separated from the magma by vacuum.

    • @2LegitCity
      @2LegitCity  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      thats true, and you dont "delete" alot of the magma so you can use it later. basically just adding method 1 to the other methods to speed it up

    What's wrong with sour gas? People tell you to watch out for it, but it does nothing from what I've seen

    • @2LegitCity
      @2LegitCity  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      its because sour gas doesnt usually spawn naturally (with a few exceptions), and if you do see sour gas its a result of a heat leak somewhere thats over 500c. since its created from oil/petro, it usually happens at the bottom near the magma core or around volcanos if you have any

      @@2LegitCity thanks for explaining this :) I kept waiting for the sour gas to start corroding my wires or machines or something

    Is there an another way that people do at water asteroid ? They do: compacting all the water in airflow tiles how about magma to create electricity gor futute?

    Easiest asteroid ever. Do the magma thing (any that you know), grab 20 kilos of niobium and skiddadle. No reason to return here.

    See this is why I don't even bother with building rockets. The entirety of the checklist needed to do a mission is the dictionary definition of tedium... not a difficult, but an incredibly long series of boring checklists to knock off, to manage, to "cheese", that all suck the fun out of the game and turn it into a chore.
    Doing a pre-flight checklist in an actual game that is actually, literally, without exaggeration, longer than any task list I have ever seen in my life, regardless when it comes to gaming or actual work people do to earn a living like doing back-office work for multinational project management from applications, tenders, budgeting, networking, kick-off events, workshops, study tours, project period reports, budget reallocation requests... is a telltale sign of something that is too tedious to constitute as "fun"... unless you like doing your taxes for fun. Then this is insanely fun.
