This scene kind of reminds me of the pilot episode when clark is talking to lana in the graveyard with the angel in the background. similarily in this episode theres and angel in the background and clark is saying "it's me clark" just like in the pilot

im crying so much i cant believe they did that to her and for the ones who thought clark didnt love her anymore i think this scene showed them otherwise you can see in his eyes how sad he is hes is so much pain without one word is very clear how he feels and when she says "its too late kal-el" and he cries thats enough for me my only confort is that as much as i will miss her the rest of the season i know clana is not over but this scene is one one the most heartbreaking in all the show WHY???
This is the most heartwrenching episode in the history of smallville. I was speechless and cried my eyes out. I understand that KK has to move on to bigger things but I hope she'll be able to find time to appear in Smallville regularly, equally CW should do everything in their power to keep Kristin. CLANA is the magic of the show. We do not want to lose CLANA!!. They are meant to be together, forever - for Smallville and hopefully in future Superman movies. Thanks for this video clip ks7.

this ending was very depressing...especially when you remember that brainiac said lana was in a lot of pain but couldn't express it--Smallville always picks the best music for the scenes, and the visual aspect of that narrow room with the barred windows and the sculpture with open palms was very beautiful

My guess is that she was either taking care of Lana, or she came to check on her. I love that she showed up at the end of this scene. It brought a new dimension of sadness; showing first Clark's love for Lana, then Chloe's love for both of them. It was a great choice by the writers in my opinion.
So i think i've watched this like 20 X's...when he closes Lana's eyes and then you hear him sobbing then we see chloe crying i mean come on how could you not shed a tear! I support Kristin in all she does but doesn't mean I have to like her leaving...(tear)!

Clark always blamed himself when tragedy used to happen to Lana. In 'Artic', when she left, he didn't seek her because he thought it would be safe for her if he stayed away from her.
Braniac said she was in pain...maybe her body is living on but her mental state is dead because she couldn't handle the pain. so therefore "your too late Kal-el" Or she's alive, but its too late for him to do anything. I want Clark to learn to FLY and embrace his destiny already! JUST KEEP LANA!

That's not true. Remember Jimmy's finger? She healed the cut and that was no where near life threatening. I do see your point though. This is not a human disease so I'm not sure if Chloe could heal her. Still I'd think that she would try. I don't think that the funeral in Descent is Lana's because KK is signed on for a few episodes of next season.
