All the knowledge in one video 1. Sequence how you eat. Start with veggies, protein and then carbs. 2. Eat less carbs (rice, chapati) and more veggies and protein 3. Do weight lifting and not only 30 mins walk and go heavier on weight lifting. 4. You don't stop exercise at 40/50, do more in those ages that will make you strong till 80. 5. Fasting is not eating at all, only water for a day. 6. Less processed food.

my dad recovered, he use to have insulin but since we removed wheat, rice and fried item from our diet and started eating johar roti, little millet and other millet, now he don't rely on insulin, his sugar level are normal now a days
@harshnaik6989 good to hear. Can you tell me what did his diet look like for all 3 meals in the day? Since you mentioned wheat and rice were removed, what did you mix Johar roti and millets with?
To make it simple: Carbohydrates are used as fuel (energy source) to move. If you ate carbs and dont move, body stores it. The more concentrated carbs (starch or sugar or fruits) u eat, the more energy supply, the more the fat storage, tired liver and pancreas, leads to diabetes. If you eat carbs, and not use, you will soon have pot belly, high cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes, stroke or heart attack. If you want to eat carbs, move (walk until you burn them). If you dont want to move (walk), avoid all starchy or sugary carbs. Also remember, no amount of exercise can out burn surplus calories you have eaten. 100 calories can fuel you for 3000 steps or 2km run. Another layer to this is combining carbs with oily fats like samosa/ bajji. Or protein with oil, fried meat etc. Dangerous mix even if you eat one or two, because body stores fats as is when combined with carbs. This is what BIOCHEMISTRY says. Hope this helps.
What do you mean by " no amount of exercise can burn the excess calorie yiu have eaten" line. Other than that nice informative comment. Thanks for this
@bhumikvats587 that means there is a common myth people have that they can over eat and burn the excess food through exercise. You cannot out work bad diet or excess eating. Like if you have eaten samosas and biryanis by exceeding your daily calorie intake, it's like you have smoked and no exercise can fix it. Biryani has 1000+ calories, and one should run 20kms to burn that, which is impossible. One must eat only what the body needs, I. E. Maintenance calories. PS: Exercise is important and everyone must exercise daily. I have several videos in my channel on this.
Your body does not store carbs, protein or fats as fat, it only stores excess calories as fat. Stop spreading misinformation. You cannot burn 400g carbs no matter what you do. And most influential good physique peeps take higher amount than that in their diet.
If its possible please also bring episode like this in hindi as majority of older people like my parents are not able to understand English and those are the ones who need this info the most.

My mom pushed me to eat extra roti and rice if I had a diet because she thought that if I eat less, then I would be weak in health. Very hard to maintain daily healthy life. Thankyou for this type of content.
Being from Bengal and dibetic, totally understand this. here's a very basic formula eat 2 portions of vegetables, 1 portion protein and 1 portion carbs in every meal. So 200gms veg, 100gm Paneer / 150 chicken and one small bowl rice.
@@SudiptoDutta-k9p It's extremely easy to fix this actually. Just getting more active, walk whenever you can, do some strength training, and improve the diet. Excellent talk. Appreciate Dr Roshni and you for the insightful talk on diabetes, carbohydrates, stress management, sleep and most importantly strength training!. God bless you !
**I see misunderstandings in the comments.** People are thinking that this video’s message is: 1. We shouldn’t eat roti. 2. People are debating that 1 roti = 4 teaspoons of sugar. But NO, you're heavily mistaken!! 1. The video never said that you shouldn’t eat roti or that roti is harmful. It says that you should consider reducing roti intake and replacing it with foods that have fewer carbohydrates and more protein. For example, if you're eating 8 rotis at a time and you find that you are heading toward diabetes, it’s recommended to reduce your roti (and other carbohydrate) intake. You might eat 4 rotis instead of 8, but it’s not suggesting you should avoid roti entirely. 2. When she said that 1 roti = 4 teaspoons of sugar, she was making a comparison based solely on carbohydrate content. 1 teaspoon of sugar contains around 5g of carbohydrates. 1 roti contains about 20g of carbohydrates, which is roughly equivalent to 4 teaspoons of sugar in terms of carbohydrate content. So, in terms of carbohydrates, **1 roti has roughly the same amount of carbs as 4 teaspoons of sugar.** - **Roti** contains **complex carbohydrates** (from whole wheat flour). These are long chains of sugar molecules that take longer to break down and digest, leading to a gradual increase in blood sugar over time. - **Sugar**, on the other hand, contains **simple carbohydrates**, which are absorbed quickly by the body, leading to a rapid spike in blood sugar levels. - If you consume **4 teaspoons of sugar** and **1 roti**, the sugar will cause a **quick spike in blood sugar** within about 15 minutes. This could result in symptoms like fatigue, headaches, blurred vision, and increased thirst and urination, especially in someone with diabetes. - **Roti**, however, will cause **slower, more gradual increases** in blood sugar over the course of around 2 hours. While you may not feel the effects immediately, the gradual rise in blood sugar can still be significant, especially if you consume large portions. - Most people don’t eat just **1 roti** at a time. For example, consuming **7-8 rotis** at once could result in an intake equivalent to about **140 g of carbohydrates**, which could be roughly comparable to consuming about **30 teaspoons of sugar**. This can lead to a **large, sustained increase** in blood sugar levels, which can be harmful, especially for those with diabetes. In conclusion, the message isn’t about completely avoiding roti or rice, but about **moderation**. It's not advisable to eat them in excessive amounts, like 8 or 10 rotis at a time. Instead, you can focus on a more balanced diet with balanced carbohydrates and **adequate protein**.

Excellent talk. Appreciate Dr Roshni and you for the insightful talk on diabetes, carbohydrates, stress management, sleep and most importantly strength training!. God bless you !
**I see misunderstandings in the comments.**
People are thinking that this video’s message is:
So, in terms of carbohydrates, **1 roti has roughly the same amount of carbs as 4 teaspoons of sugar.**
- **Roti** contains **complex carbohydrates** (from whole wheat flour).

Love the way you put your questions and how she was able to answer it beautifully. Keep up the good work. More power Revant to you

my dad recovered, he use to have insulin but since we removed wheat, rice and fried item from our diet and started eating johar roti, little millet and other millet, now he don't rely on insulin, his sugar level are normal now a days
I am a doctor i have two relatives who are suffering every time i lecture them.the thing is indians dont care.they have a dekha jayega attitude.they dont bother about the future.
What a fantastic interview, so much knowledge dispensed in an easy to understand way with great examples. Thank you.
Simple - Stop Rice and Roti. Thats it. I have said this in many video comments, I will do it here again. It is magical.
Eat whatever you want, work hard and believe in your digestive system.
@@IncognitoInkWarrior lmao
I tell people that roti gives me gas. Eat my veggies and meats as is. It is heavenly 😂
@ Indeed. Eversince I stoped Rice and Roti, I feel good. Weight reduced, digestion improved.

If you are a diabetic patient then should be worried.... otherwise You can eat wheat flour chapati daily ...but don't forget regular exercise...good luck
Ya but in a controlled proportion....
@@rdxcryptonOG carbohydrate is also important for body.... daily intake range is 200-250g per day for normal adults.
@@THEHINDU2023we see people develop diabetes at that level of carbs. I mention this in detail in my book Turn around Diabetes.
Calculate yr metabolic rate and add 300 for sedentary and 800 for heavy gym goers.... that is the limit of calorie..
@@DrroshanisanghaniWhy didn't you mention the Glycemic Index?

No elvish Yadav was harmed 😂
Thank you so much for the revelation. God bless you guys!!
Wat shld I eat then. I can't afford organic
Eat roti... But in a controlled proportion... I am talking about basic food distribution.... Like 30% of your plate should be roti or rice... Rest shall be things like eggs, fishes, vegges, fruits and other things... Eating roti or rice is not the problem but eating too much definitely is 🐼
Doesn't have to be organic. Track how your body responds. No single food has to be Stopped, monitor your levels to know.
Less carbs more protein and fiber
@@darsanmprasad1741 Also healthy fats* don't forget them....
Sorry for hurting the sentiments of vegans but meat is the best bet for diabetic control.
One of the best podcast on diabetes......u r a gem bro
Why didn't u talk more on how fasting helps in diabetes the moment maam said u can't eat in fasting u changed the topic instantly......we muslims don't eat in fasting so it would have been helful for us and people would have learnt more about fasting techniques
You've done a great job sir, I am going to share to everyone
Do not believe these people blindly.... We take roti three times a day and nothing happens. Ignore them as they want to sell their agendas
If you are a diabetic patient then should be worried.... otherwise You can eat wheat flour chapati....but don't forget regular exercise...good luck
listening is free no one asked you to follow. hope it helps.❤
@@THEHINDU2023 one guy has diabetic in my family and he eats roti only no rice and his diabetic is very much in control. We shouldn't fell into west propaganda
