Hi! Skin drag (the test with the light touch dragging on the skin) is one of the steps involved in tissue texture assessment as part of an Osteopathic Structural exam. It is intended to assess texture of the skin as well as changes in skin friction created by varying moisture levels, small levels of tissue edema, etc. These small changes in texture and moisture in specific skin areas can be a sign of underlying somatic dysfunction (which can cause a local imbalance of sympathetic autonomic tone affecting the microcirculation to the overlying skin). Essentially it’s one more clue in addition to the rest of the temperature, light palpation, deep palpation that points towards underlying somatic dysfunction (which can be treated with osteopathic manipulation when appropriate). The Erythema Friction rub (the other test with more pressure and rubbing along the skin) provokes a red reflex response in the skin and gives you additional information about how the circulation at various levels is functioning, which is another clue pointing you towards the presence of somatic dysfunction. Hope that helps!
One of the best asmr channel😊
Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos!
Unintentional ASMR at its best!!
Thank you!
The eye contact after he took the gown off 💀
What's the two finger skin drag on the back supposed to assess?
Erythema friction rub: Redness/pallor indicates vasomotor changes that may be secondary dysfunction.
