Trinity Railway Express Action! Dallas Fort Worth Trains

  • Trinity Railway Express operates 68 week day and 42 weekend trains between Dallas and Fort Worth using EMD F59PH and F59PHI locomotives. This busy corridor has many hotspots, including the soon-to-be-replaced wood and through truss bridge over the Trinity River; Dallas, Garland & Northeastern's Mockingbird Railyard; and the Beltline Grade separation at Irving. Amtrak also runs this route, but it's not just limited to passenger trains either!
    A BNSF freight made a surprise appearance during our visit-there are an average of 3-4 BNSF trains daily, but most run at night to not conflict with the TRE trains.
    Filmed on our Texas Trip: June 18-20, 2019. More Texas videos to come!

    You have to admit, TRE has some incredible K5LAs, quite better than many horns nowadays.

    That's one thing I hate about BNSF crossings, those E-bells not shutting off 🤗

    Another interesting note is that this line is the former Rock Island from Ft. Worth to Dallas. First train out is just after 4am and they run until midnight, after midnight BNSF runs a freight across the line, during the weekends a local and a through freight will make it's way across the line

      @@CentralPennRailProductions You're welcome and thank you I do honestly miss them using the RDC Budd rail diesel cars Which they originally used the station platform still have the heightened pedestrian handicap ramps once used by the RDC cars now there is only one and it resides at the TRE shop Facility The rest of the fleet was sold to Vermont I honestly think that single RDC belongs in a railroad museum rather than a Railroad Facility I wish the Museum of the American Railroad (based on Frisco, TX) would acquire that car

    • @RyanFRails
      @RyanFRails 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Central Penn Rail Productions even here in DFW, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see KCS as long as you’re east of Wylie. Traffic west of Wylie has really declined ever since the KCS IMTDA/IDAMT trains were abolished in 2017, but there’s still a few sand trains as well as the LWY101 between Alliance and Wylie. But most of the KCS traffic in the DFW area runs to the east of Wylie nowadays.

    The Belt Line bridge was needed since Belt Line and Story are major north-south thoroughfares in Irving. Otherwise the crossings would be closed a lot, making traffic a nightmare.

    The US infrastructure is highly deprived. We who travel a lot in different countries can see a significant difference - and not only the rail network, but also road networks, bridges, subways, trams, buses etc ... Why are trains still run on diesel in the US? Europe ended up with it last century! Visit any European country or China/Japan to discover the difference.

    • @charlesshivoder2887
      @charlesshivoder2887 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello from Pennsylvania. I’m not sure of the purpose or intent of your remark. The railroads in North America did not electrify because coal was plentiful and dirt cheap here. Later when the first big Texas oil find occurred, petroleum power was again very cheap. There was no need to take on the massive initial construction costs of electrification nor its sky-high ongoing maintenance costs. It’s simple economics. (I take it that economics is not your strong suit.).
      Also consider that the railroads of North America are privately owned, profit making enterprises. They can’t afford to build and operate any rail infrastructure which is not absolutely necessary to their efficient train operations. Overseas, the taxpayers are perpetually burdened by massive employment-boosting schemes which are not needed from an economic viewpoint. This is why the American economy grows on average at twice the rate of Europe or Japan.
      Thank you for the opportunity of explaining the difference between a free economy and one burdened by the leftist, Neo-Leninists in Brussels. CAS

      @Djur2844 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@charlesshivoder2887 ... Well, the US is the world's richest country but can't afford efficient infrastructure. Telephone poles everywhere (even in large cities) that do not exist in other countries (all electricity is buried in the ground except for trains and trams). In Europe we use 4G / 5G and US has 3G and at best 4G.
      Most US citizen think they are voting for "their candidate" but in fact "Deep State" rules - it doesn't matter if the elected is Republican or Democrat. They have the same foreign and domestic policy (everything works bad)!
      US domestic policy leads to homelessness, tent cities everywhere - drug abuse - mental illness - shooting - constant fear and suicide! Most citizen are constantly terrified so they are armed to the teeth with handguns. No one can prevent future mass shootings that happen almost every day somewhere in the US.
      But US have shiny aircraft carriers and fancy homes for the rich! "This is the land of freedom"!
