Also, agree about Etsy, it used to be strictly hand made or vintage and I liked supporting artists and craftspeople. I’m very careful now, as a doll dress purchased recently, I later found elsewhere at half the price. I can’t stand dishonesty so won’t be using that seller again.
I know exactly what you mean! Often, I use Google image search when I finally found something to be sure it is not just another bulk item... but with those items here, I didn't even think about that 🤣. Because I didn't expect that there is a whole website for these clothes 😅. But still, it is veeeery similar to all the Etsy shops that sell bulk made items at unfair prices. These pieces are overall well made, but they are made in large quantities and not worth the price range that a small business would have to charge... Hopefully, that makes sense ☺️ It's not trustworthy, in my opinion. When it comes to Etsy, I really REALLY hope they get their former identity back together! I am so annoyed by all of these dropshop sellers! I made my account back in 2011 and I rarely bought anything during the last 3 years. I can’t resist a mystery with a partial clue 😁 But I believe the sticker website is “clear-lan” like on the listing pictures of the items (I didn’t investigate that site too much, because my browser gave a warning). In that case, why did they bother to peel off the sticker? And why peel it off so badly? I’ve been disappointed several times buying doll clothing on Etsy from local sellers who are very friendly but it turns out that they are bulk-ordering items and pretending they make them while sitting in a little rocking chair in their little kitchen. ☹️
I was also going to say I suspect clear-lan: they used to sell doll clothes through their website and the clothes were high quality and seemed to actually be custom made (you had to order for the specific doll size in advance, eventually they ran out of stock of some popular items, & it took a looooong time to get the clothes). The listing photos are also from clear-lan and the packaging looks like what I remember the clear-lan clothes were packaged in…. Minus the ripped off label! This is such a mystery to me, I’m really curious what’s going on.
Hey, you already found it 😃 I didn't expect that they literally use the same pictures for the items that are listed on the website 🤣 At that point, I only tried to find it with the sticker residues 🫣 Very interesting! I mean, the site offers even more choices! That is surely part of the higher prices... but still, based on material and overall making, they still are a bit overpriced. They surely try to make them look like quality, low quantity made doll clothes... but those pieces are rather mass produced. Maybe the side is not successful enough and they decided to sell also through Aliexpress... not sure about the stickers. Weird choice to remove them that way 😅 But I guess, when you order through the website, you will at least get what you actually ordered 🤣 Etsy is another story... it was a great place to get doll stuff in the past. I've been seeing these listings on aliexpress and I was curious because I wanted clothes for my Integrity doll and my doll with a mengf body. I was hesitant because of the price. I have found some nice pieces in the clothes made for the xian xian princess dolls though.
I had some of the Xian Xian Princess clothes in my last haul. Even if the dolls are not my thing, clothing is pretty good... aaand the materials they used are better than the stuff I got here 🙄 I collect doll clothes for over 20 years (but to be fair, mainly for bigger dolls), and these pieces are absolutely underwhelming considering their price. I notice the strap is removed from the white Mini Fashions bag. Was it removed because of glue? I had to remove mine. It was covered in sticky, smelly glue.
No, the bag is fine 😆 I just tucked in the strap ☺️ So far, I never had such a glue bag 😱... but I had some tiny glue residues on one of the bags, but I was able to remove it. Just with some water and vinegar. Buuut I had a pair of shoes once that had super glue stains all over it 😕... I could not remove that at all 😥
