No, The Boys subverts superhero tropes whilst the people in this show aren't really superheroes, they are just superpowered. The only one who is a superhero in any sense is Diego.

I really hope y'all will start reacting to The Untamed. It's a really amazing Chinese series from 2019 (it's complete) with supernatural elements that you can watch on Netflix, Viki (I prefer the subs here, but there are ads) or on TH-cam (for free). Like, I cannot stress enough how much of a gem it is. The complex and layered characterization, character dynamics and plot are impeccable. Despite limitations imposed by Chinese censorship and low budget, it manages to deliver an amazing, compelling story about justice vs thirst for power, love and family, mob mentality vs morality etc. The two leads are SO GOOD! (and also this drama said fck you to censorship and managed to somehow still portray the love between the two) It's confusing for the first 3-4 episodes, but when you start getting it, you don't wanna stop watching. I'm not exaggerating: there are so many ppl who experienced this!
