  • In case you haven't heard (haha) there's a new Charlotte Tilbury foundation called Beautiful Skin Foundation. How does it compare to the Airbrush Flawless Foundation? Are either of them good for over 50 skin that's dry? Are either of them really worth $44?

    People raved about this foundation but I was left deflated. I love how it looks on others, but I feel in my advanced age, I'm looking for something that is simplistic but beautiful. Putting on all this moisture, primer, pore smoother, misting, setting spray, press, press, press. I just want something creamy that's between foundation and powder that doesn't sit in wrinkles. I've pivoted to upping dollars to even better skin care and less makeup now.

    Thank you for doing this and for your honesty. I think sometimes we're "try" to be more lenient on a product just because it is on the pricier end. I'm not going to love something just because it hurt to purchase it. Lol!
    I appreciate you so very much !

      Agreed! I also think we are too swayed to believe something is good. That’s why I try to not listen to the reviews before I try it.

    I think for $44.00 it better perform miracles ! I could not justify spending that much money and it not be perfect. I think these high dollar brands need to do more research and perfect their products instead of just producing inferior products in pretty packaging. That’s just my opinion though. Thank you for doing these reviews Bobbie ! They really help !

    After watching this, I wondered what is your real go to foundation then? I'm only just starting to experience the big shift to drier skin at 51. So, I'm having to rethink and try new foundations. So far, I like Sephora's Best Skin Ever and L'Oréal's Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation...both reasonable priced.

    Thank you so much for your honest opinion. I was going to buy the new flawless foundation by other reviews, but it is sold out. After your review I'm glad it is. I have a drawer full of foundations from high end Dior to drugstore and nothing seems to work on my 66 year skin. Today I did try a BB cream from AOA Studio and I only paid a dollar for it! So far it looks great 👍 I got it off of the website where the paw paw sponges are sold. Everything is a dollar!!

    Great video Bobbie :) Most of the cosmetics that are high end are also manufactured by the same company that make drug store cosmetics. The fancy packaging and the claims don't justify the high end prices of these products. Their are many good quality products at the drug store, I have found a few that I repurchase often. Take care everyone

      I agree. I have tried and spent so much money on high end foundations. I always go back to my drugstore L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover foundation. It’s the lightest full cover I have found that just works well for my skin. The CT Beautiful Skin did not work or wear well for me at all. I’m 62 with combination skin.

      @@MindfulMidlife I have a few favorite foundations that I use - Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable (orange top) Medium Coverage, this one comes with a pump :) This one does have a slight scent, however, it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin at all. I also use Mineral Foundation, and from Marcelle Natural BB Cream, excellent coverage :)

    Tks for the review! We all get hyped up to buy buy buy- I put on an inexpensive wet n wild tinted moisturizer today and it’s gorgeous and thought why do I need to spend on the high end stuff … and yet my next question is can you review the new Nars - lol?

  • @ginnyburley9552

    I know for sure that I’m not going to buy a full coverage foundation. Not too many foundation that claim to be hydrating end up being hydrating for me. Having dry skin and living in an arid environment means hydration is a constant challenge. I also find that using a very small amount of foundation seems to work the best for me to try to keep the stuff gathering in wrinkles. I haven’t been tempted to buy any of the CT foundations for some reason.

    I tried the CT Airbrush Flawless Foundation and I hated it. I tried it multiple times and gave it a fair shake and I cannot seem to want to keep it anymore. It was very dry and cakey on me. I will stick to ELDW foundation for special occasions and a lighter foundation for other times. I even like EL Futurist Hydra Rescue for summertime everyday because it has the added spf. I am very leary to try another CT foundation.

    I don't think so! It costs 44 dollars, especially since the drugstore has upped their game. Me, being a male with skin, normal to dry skin at 68, I love my Physcians Formula new foundation, love Revlon Colorstay normal to dry, which is often overlooked, also their full coverage! I am on a monthly income, love the Elf Cameo Hydrating Concealer, and the Covergirl Tru Blend. I just cannot see paying the outrageous prices for every new foundation that comes out! To me, when it is over 40 dollars it should be damned near flawless for any skin. I love the ordinary and good molecules, I believe skincare and personal care shouldn't have to cause you to take a second mortgage on your home, or sell a spare body part to afford!

    Said all you have on is SPF? Do you not have skin care on underneath this? I’m curious because you said you have a very dry skin and I know I would moisturize very well if I had very dry skin before I put on any foundation so if you haven’t moisturized, I don’t think you’re giving it a fair try but maybe I misunderstood.

    • @MindfulMidlife
      @MindfulMidlife  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Oh no....I definitely have skincare on. I have very dry skin so I have to moisturize. What I mean is I don't use anything else besides skincare and an SPF. All foundations have to work with that. I don't use a primer when I am trying out new foundations - that's what I mean by "all I have is SPF on". Thanks for asking!
