As of now I've seen 158 ft-lbs to the rear wheel. Once I finish the clutch improvements I have planned, I expect to put down between 165-170ft-lbs. The turbo never "kicks in", it's only there when you twist the throttle and it's very easy to manage the throttle and power!
I don't have an odometer to calculate fuel efficiency with but I have run down the interstate and noted the mileage between gas stops. It gets around 42 mpg on the highway cruising around 80 mph. The fuel efficiency drops as I spend more time in the throttle but I don't have a way to calculate it around town. I ran it once down the strip several months ago. I with a soft launch and short shift through 1st and 2nd I ran an 11.30 at 121mph. I look forward to going back and running it again!
The XB9 and XB12 motors have similar crank and rod setups from 2003 until 2007. The 2008-2010 XB9 and XB12 models have the stronger cranks rods. Your 2006 crank should hold up to some abuse but may not last long if it sees extremely high rpm or big power (way beyond stock).
It has put down 186hp on the dyno but the clutch and/or rear tire was slipping so it has more than that:). Ya, I have to use restraint while in lower gears.
"Subbed" - thank you for all your feedback and your invaluable do diligence with all the work on your bike. I know I have appreciated it and many New Buell owners will as well. I am contemplating pulling the trigger on an XB9S . my only serious gripe is implementing a hydraulic clutch which would probably be my first "have-to-have" upgrades. Looking forward to more Vids ! Thanks again.
Just getting my monthly view of this video. Quite an inspiration really. I have a 2004 XB12R whose engine is starting to knock. I plan on tearing it down this winter... hopefully I can make the time to start a nice turbo project which you have made so much easier to tackle. Have you been back to the track with it, or solved the clutch-slip? Nice work.
Excellent ride, btw .. how were you bale to get a taller gear ? I have been in the forums and i have heard everything from changing the drive wheel on the back to converting to chain drive etc.. The 9 has a shorter stroke theoretically could get a higher RPM ? Thanks. Again, excellent work.
A lot of people look at my XB12R and ask if it's a 600". "Only if you don't count the second cylinder" I reply. Have you ever taken it down the drag strip? Would love to know what it does down the 1/8th mile. Would love a Turbo on mine.....
I'm curious: I own 4 Buells, and no XB that I've ever seen has the instruments shown in the video. Why were they swapped out? Couldn't you just add a boost gauge on the handlebar?
Do you know how much torque you make? Also does the turbo ever kick in at a bad time while going around corners? zright now I just have a 883 sportster but next I'm buying a XB12R or possibly a 1125CR.
Curious .. the turbo is getting you to top RPM faster, have you been able to move the goal post of the Red-line to achieve a higher top speed? and of so will that 12 get you to a buck sixty ? 2.) are you using a bigger oil inter-cooler as well ? Thanks.

Keep up the good work
8:55 is the moment every Buell rider knows well ;)
Instead of an intercooler, which would take up lots of space, I use water injection to cool the intake charge and reduce the chances of detonation.

That is awesome, I wish Harley would've let Buell put the turbos on
My Buller friend... get the chest mount.
Very similar angle... but soooooooo much better for absorbing vibration.
Cheers,
WOLF (OZ Buell)
"hey what kinda bike is that" that's why I love streetfighters and most of all buells.
Sooo clean my friend. I don't always whistle at girls, but when I do...I use my turbo. Safe Riding.
Your bike is an absolute BEAST! Too bad the roads and driving/riding there looks pretty boring :-(
Congrats on the build!
Haha! "What kind of bike is that?" I get that all the time too. Nice bike....love the turbo setup. 👍

Awesome. So glad you got it all back together. Good work.
Nice setup, would like to do that to my Buell someday! I have a 2005 XB12scg, enjoy every ride, sounds awesome with a turbo on it though.
Holy shit ive seen you lol this was on 39th ave in gainesville
Yup, thats me:)
Far Eric what a beast!!! your the man!!! N.Z. Boi !!!Aotearoa!!!
Very Cool! Wheelie machine! How much power do you think its making? was 11.30 with out being able to really stomp it first few gears?
Very nice job indeed! Congrats. Any updates on the latest progress?
Sure is! I check out BuellXB on a daily basis and post on there from time to time as EricZ.
Great work! Glad to see it is running!
OH MY GOD. HOW DO I GET THIS
Next video you do splice all the action together.
It's an air cooled motor just like all other XB and tube frame models.
Hello from France.
I have a Buell XB12 S and I love it, you drive your Buell perfectly.
you have pictures of your Buell on the video I do not see it.
Excellent ride, btw .. how were you bale to get a taller gear ? I have been in the forums and i have heard everything from changing the drive wheel on the back to converting to chain drive etc..

2:25, 6:06 are a couple of the pulls.
Bike is sweet, I was checkin out the website and saw it was dyno'd in gainesville. You live around there? i want to see this thing at test and tune.
I'm in Gainesville. Where are you?
ezracing900 Im in St. Johns, I go to test and tune sometimes but I dont run because I never got my nhra license.

i couldnt stop laughing. i get that too. i also get "what kind of exhaust is that? it sounds mean" i say "its called harley"
OW!
It's XB12s !?
You have assembly turbocharge.
Nice Bike!
I'm hope ride it in Taiwan.
And a Volvo wagon in the lane! hahah YES, nice ride, nice bike. I enjoyed the video. =)
would be nice if you had it mounted to your helmet so we could see your perspective
Your Volvo is awesome dude!!

is it the xb9 or xb12??
Ha. 8:55 indeed. Is this the build I saw on BuellXB.com?

Makes me wish I kept my S1 Lightning
Awesome Buell
Thanks, man! I love that car!
nice bike bro!
Nice video
Scary chemtrail sky
How much the chain conv. set you back ? (Time+Material)
but can you tell me how to make the change what is thank you
Interesting. I figured with a turbocharger it would generate higher temperatures and would require an intercooler.
Is it legal where you are to not have a speedometer?
that thing is wicked
Love it! That bike is brutal ;)
where is here?
Does anyone else get to about 3500 revs in this filmclip and start tripping on LSD...?
How is the bike cooled?
thats narley
Live i Germany like me and you can ride this beautiful beast full speed ;)
water injection ist the best solution for a motorcycle :-)
amazing, great buell :)
2:02
